Great house in a great location!
We were a group of 2 couples and we had a very comfortable stay in this adorable beach cottage. It was the perfect price and just enough space.
This was our first trip to Delaware and we couldn’t have stayed in a better rental for our weeklong vacation. The home was quiet and comfortable and we loved being able to walk (or bike) to so many places including the beach, village shops, and parks. Between the Saturday Farmers’ Market and Lloyd’s little, very well-stocked, grocery store (both within walking distance) we were able to get all the food we needed for our stay. Lastly, we found Lewes to be a very friendly town that we’ll definitely want to come back to.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Look forward to having you as a guest in the future.
Clean and well-equipped. In a beautiful neighborhood walking distance from Front Street. Very convenient for visiting Cape Henlopen State Park. Might be a little small for a family of 4 but perfect for us 2. This is the second time we have stayed there!
Clean, well-supplied, great location. It is located just outside the busy center of Lewes. It’s quiet and restful but conveniently close to restaurants and the beach. Dishes, lots of towels, linens, soaps, etc. were all available. My only minor complaint is a weak WIFI signal. It didn’t interfere with our enjoyment of our vacation.
My first vrbo experience. Cute, clean place in historic Lewes. Close to the 2nd (main) street and canal. Nice having outdoor shower to avoid sand inside. Has parking spot. Great place for a getaway!

Quiet and comfy for 2
This petite cottage had a very quiet location, but an easy stroll or bike ride into town (a few blocks). Clean and well equipped kitchen and comfy bed. It sleeps four, but is a good fit for two. We enjoyed sitting in the back yard patio (watching hawks fly overhead). You may want to bring beach chairs to use, but there was a nice beach umbrella. We love Cape Henlopen's bike trails and deep beach on the ocean side. And restaurant Striper Bites was great once again. So much better an experience than a hotel room, and a better bargain.

Well kept perfectly sized home for my 10 yo son and I.
Mike and Charlene took the time to assist with TV connection issues. Ultimately my son and I said we don't need it anyway the weather was gorgeous. I would recommend this property!

Thanks for your great rating Sharon. My husband found the cause of the Netflix problem you encountered - the network interface on the Blu-ray player failed. So we replaced the player next day and all is well. Best regards, Charlene
The house was small, but was perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 young children). We spent most of our time on the beach (convenient drive to both Lewes Public Beach and Savannah Beach), so having an outdoor shower in the backyard to rinse off the sand at the end of the day was great. Walking into town took a bit more time with 2 small children, but even so it would take us no more than 10 min - essential for ice cream/coffee breaks! Also, walking distance to two great playgrounds (Lewes CanalFront Park and another closer to the house at the George HP Smith Memorial Park). We had a great time :)
This little cottage is dated and smells like moth balls. On two days of our stay, we came home after the beach to the cottage smelling like cigarette smoke. It does air our quickly if you open the windows and back door. The location is great - on a quiet street in the historic Lewes village. Safe and comfortable. I e rode our bikes to the bay with our kids and could walk to the village.

Karleen - Thank you for your review.
Regarding the odors you mentioned, we do have a small plastic bag with a hand full of mothballs on the floor of the utility closet that is located outside of the house on the patio. These are intended to keep critters from entering the house. The reptiles are not a major concern especially during the summer and we will consider using an alternate repellant.
Regarding the smell of cigarette smoke you reported, I am at a loss to explain it. We have a strict No Smoking policy and have never permitted smoking at the property in the ten years we have owned it.
Thanks for bringing these issues to our attention and best regards.

Perfect weekend getaway
We were here for a lacrosse tournament and this was a great value for the money, much better than a hotel for the same price. The house is cozy with all amenities and conveniences of home. We were able to walk to the Farmer's market, playground, and Second St. shops. Very quiet street! While there, the air conditioning gave out and the owner immediately purchased a unit while waiting for repairs. Charlene is terrific - thank you, super service! We will be back next year!

Thanks for your kind words. We look forward to seeing you next year.
Cute, comfortable, homey beach house. The house was very well-equipped with plenty of sheets, towels, dishes, plates etc. Having a dishwasher and washer/dryer in the home was a huge plus. Excellent location in-town in Lewes. An easy 15 minute walk to shops and restaurants around 2nd Street. And a very easy drive to beaches and Cape Henlopen.
Owners are wonderful! We accidentally left an item outside when packing the car and leaving and the cleaners called the owners and the owners called us immediately.
Would definitely stay again when visiting Lewes.

Little oasis
We booked this property for a long get away weekend. We never visited Lewes before so weren't sure what to expect. The VRBO is perfect for a weekend for a couple or family with up to 2 young children. The space is small but efficient and clean. Perfect for a couple looking to explore the area. Town was a short walk. The biking trails in this area are outstanding and the Cape Henlopen State Park is a treasure. We had so much fun getting away from it all with bike rides each day and visits to nearby establishments for tasting of spirits, wine and, most famously, Dogfish Head beer. Lots of fun. Highly recommend this property
