The house was warm and wonderful. The host reached out to us to confirm we had what we needed, especially as there was a freak winter storm coming in. The vintage style home was so lovely. Wish we could have been here during summer to better enjoy the framed patio but we still were able to cuddle on it. We also needed to add a day early and thankfully it was available. Host responded quickly and we were able to get in.
Clean house with an easy check in when we arrived late at night. We visited Duke and it was an easy walk to East Campus where we could catch the shuttle to west campus. The beds were comfy and bathrooms clean. The neighborhood was quiet.
This was a great place for our stay. It was a fantastic location, close to Duke, close to good shopping and lots of food options, but at the same time it was a quiet neighborhood. We had zero concerns about safety or security at the house. This is a very comfortable place to stay. It isn’t fancy, feels more like a stay at our family cottage. Books, games, and puzzles are available for use. The porch was the best feature for us! While at the house, if we weren’t sleeping in the comfortable beds, we were most likely on the porch reading, talking, or playing games. The only negatives for us were: (1) we looked for extra blankets or fuzzy blankets for cool evenings on the porch. We ended up buying a couple for us. (2) The back yard is an untapped resource. It would have been nice to be able to go out the back into what could be a beautiful yard and sit in lawn chairs or on a nice patio. If you’re looking for a 5 star resort stay, this isn’t the place for you. If you’re looking for a comfortable place in a great location that has everything you need to feel at home, this one is your hidden gem. If you’re looking for a fancy 5 star resort stay, this isn’t your place. If you’re looking for something

Liked: Communication
This could be a very lovely place, but the accommodations were very minimal. There was no steamer or iron for preparing clothes after traveling. There was not an adequate amount of washcloths because the host said that other guests had taken them. The dining table was covered with some kind of a "fake" cover and duct tape. The air conditioning consists of window units and a unit in the living room that is vented through a window. All of the units are quite loud. In the main bedroom, with the curtain open for the air conditioning unit, the neighbors outdoor light shines through the window all night. The furnishings definitely need to be updated.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Host was a good communicator and allowed us to check-out an hour later than the posted time, which was appreciated. The house is quite old and tired. The central air did not work.
