This cottage is perfect for someone on business travel, sabbatical, internship, or parents nesting back and forth to another home.

Renovated one bedroom backyard cottage perched above the bank of a year round creek - centrally located in Los Altos between Mountain View and Palo Alto between Foothill Expwy and 280.

Cottage is fully furnished for temporary housing while you are relocating, on extended vacation, or working temporarily in Silicon Valley.

The cottage is surrounded by private decks overlooking the creek and wooded setting, and includes outdoor dining furniture and propane grill. Feels worlds away, yet walking distance to shops and food. Work in nature using the wifi with your laptop while you sip your coffee at the outdoor dining table overlooking the creek. Or come home from a day at the office, and relax in nature with a nice glass of wine. Sightsee all day and return home to your own little quiet, private retreat with all the comforts of home.

Amenities: LCD TVs in living room and bedroom, and WIFI. Bring your own streaming accounts. Note: no cable tv service provided. We also provide an HDMI-to-HDMI cable if you wish to play anything from your laptop or internet onto the flat screen TV.

Gourmet kitchen with new stainless fridge with filtered water, new gas stove, granite counters, new cabinetry, gel chef's floor mat, 3 kinds of coffee makers, and all the cookware and gadgets you could ever need. Also close to pizza and other delivery/takeout if you don't want to cook. Have your own full size, front loading washer with dryer too.

Furnished as shown in the photos. The bedroom has a firm-with-pillowtop Simmons Beautyrest mattress with linens and towels provided. It is a cozy and extremely functional 350 SF with every inch utilized. Also includes desk, dining table, and two dining chairs.

Located close to Foothill Expwy, 280, 85, very convenient to commutes or cycling. It's a straight shot up Shoreline to 101 or you can take Foothill Expwy directly to Stanford and research parks.

Longer term rental possible (months).

Includes 1 dedicated carport parking space for renter.

'Fine print':
-No pets or smoking, no exceptions (my family and other guests have allergies).
-Maximum 2 occupants due to compact size of cottage, 1 queen bed. Most comfortable for 1 adult.
-The rental is for the named renters' use and enjoyment only.
-Check in is at 4 pm, check-out is 11 am.
-Security camera at driveway and backyard path to cottage, sound disabled. Property backs up to a creek and is located down end of private cul-de-sac.

Lovely cottage

Stacey is a wonderful host stayed in this cottage for three months while travel nursing in Santa Clara. Would highly recommend it there is a lovely creek with your own chairs and table.

Had everything needed for a longer stay

Stayed 3 weeks to relocate to the area and find a more permanent home. The cottage had no shortage of amenities and was comfortable for our longer stay where we were able to take advantage of a full kitchen. Stacey was very responsive as our host. Highly recommend

A treasure among the green.

When I first arrived at Stacey's place I missed the driveway, a mistake I am sure to never make again after such an unforgettable stay. Nestled deep in the quiet community of Los Altos is a peaceful single bedroom paradise that is perfect for the person who wants to get away from it all, but isn't too keen on being in the middle of nowhere. Sitting directly behind a los altos home you can forget about the outside world while sitting on the elevated porch watching the deer walk through the dry creek below. The space is utilitarian, with a full kitchen has that everything you need if you want to cook, and a small desk for working/writing. The hosts are very attentive to your cleanliness/privacy needs, and even bought new masks, hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes for those who are covid-minded. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent property in great location

The property is self-contained, has everything you could ask for re: amenities, lovely garden in the woods with stream and great neighbourhood. This is my 4th stay at this location and I hope to be back soon!

Excellent!

This is my second stay at this property, and both times the experience has been 10/10. Absolutely everything I have needed during my stay was provided in the accommodation, and the host (Stacey) has been extremely helpful throughout. It is located in a fantastic area, and am planning my third trip here shortly!

If you are thinking of renting this cottage...great choice. It is an amazing cottage with high end finishes and a serene setting to call your own...you may never want to leave. Your host is warm and inviting and a text message away. We stayed a little over a month and felt at home. This is a gem!!! Lisa

Great Spot

I stayed in Stacey's cottage for 3 weeks during a temporary work assignment at Stanford. As other reviewers have stated, Stacey has done a wonderful job equipping the cottage with everything you might need for a short or lengthy stay. The kitchen is amazing with full size state of the art appliances and the added touch not usually found in this type of rental, a full size washer/dryer unit. All you need tech wise as well, with a Dish TV setup that came in very handy as I was able to tape some football games that were going on when I was working. Stacey was easy to reach by text and quick to follow up answering any questions. I was there when the fires up north were sending smoke our way, and Stacey was thoughtful enough to go out and buy an air purifier for the cottage. All in all, I would highly recommend this unit to anyone needing accommodation in the area.

Beautiful secluded unit that is adequately stock with the best amenities!

Wonderful unit with an owner that is professional and eager to help out if needed. The kitchen is beautiful and the entire house has great amenities. Quiet location with a lot of vegetation that makes it feel like home compared to a hotel stay. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for an place for an extended amount of time.

Tranquil, cozy, serene and well equipped

I stayed at Stacy’s place for about three weeks and had a wonderful time there. The house itself was super cozy, comfortable and well equipped with everything I needed. The location was beautiful as well.. I loved the stream right outside the patio. You do need a car to get around as it’s tucked away from local ammenities, about 10 minutes drive. Stacy was very accommodating and responsive. She was a great host. I would love to stay there again and highly recommend.

Peaceful heaven in busy Silicon Valley

I stayed with Stacey while I finished grad school at Stanford. It was a great place to relax, study, and rest away from the chaos that is Silicon Valley. It would also be a perfect place to stay for a vacation, extended business trip, etc. Stacey makes sure you have everything you need, but mainly just lets you be. She's also very available in case you need her on short notice--a great host! Can't recommend this place enough.

Cozy, quiet and private location

We couldn't have found a better location! This cottage is tucked away in the trees overlooking a creek. It is very quiet, clean, well stocked and private. We enjoyed having coffee on the deck watching deer walk along the creek below us. It has wonderful appliance and everything you need to make meals. Stacey was very responsive when we had a question of needed something. We would definitely stay there again.

Cozy and Peaceful!!

The pictures accurately reflect this cozy cottage. Very clean with nice appliances. The washer and dryer a real plus! We loved having coffee on the deck overlooking the creek and watching the deer walking in the creek. I would highly recommend this cottage. Stacey was very attentive and responded immediately to make sure our stay was pleasant. It is a very quiet location surrounded by beautiful trees. We loved it and will return!!

Amazing

I had the rare privelige of living here for 5 months. I work in New England but my job sent me on a temporary assignment to the bay area. Stacey was a great property manager...she was available when I needed her but otherwise she lets you be. Great spot off the highway...good local restaurants, grocery store, gym,.etc. the washer/dryer combo, full granite tops with gas oven are unreal. AND, you get a great desk with a printer as well as complete satellite package. You cant notice the neighbors either, quiet as church mice

Cozy modern cottage in Los Altos Hills

I stayed at this cottage for two months while in the area for work and it was a welcome respite from a busy work day. The cottage sits above a stream and is surrounded by trees and greenery and has all the amenities you might need for an extended stay: wifi, full kitchen, laundry, etc. The surrounding area is peaceful and quiet. There are hiking trails nearby and wineries a few miles drive away. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

A tranquil oasis, yet close to everything

I stayed at this lovely little house for three months during a freelance job. It's small, but very well-equipped with a modern kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, and very comfortable furnishings (and a super comfy bed). What makes it so special, though, is the location. It sits above a permanent creek in a beautiful woodsy setting. I'd see deer, ducks and egrets down by the creek, and an amazing range of birdlife in the huge live oaks and laurel trees (including a Western Screech Owl, a pretty rare sighting). The host, Stacey, is quick to respond to your needs. There are lots of great markets and restaurants nearby, and the commute to tech companies is fast and easy (you can even avoid the freeways).

The perfect place to stay in Silicon Valley; ideally suited for business travelers

Everything about this great guest house - and the welcoming and diligent host - exceeded my expectations. First, the house itself is very well appointed and updated, providing for all of the amenities you'd ever want or need. As a business traveler who routinely stays at top-notch hotels, I'd choose this spot any time for a short to medium-term stay. The kitchen is very updated and comfortable, and it's nice to have separate living spaces to break up the routine of the tiny hotel room! The location is great in the Valley, and the neighborhood is quaint and scenic. The owner was incredibly responsive and really interested in my satisfaction while I was there, which was refreshing! I would very much recommend this home and would stay there again without hesitation.

Great Spot for Business Travelers to Silicon Valley

I have stayed at this location multiple times over the past year, and I find it to be one for my favorite spots. The cottage is completely stand alone, with plenty of privacy. The interior is quite nice, especially the kitchen, which includes modern fixtures and cooking supplies (perfect for a long term stay). There is great WiFi so I can catch up on my work, and Dish TV just in case you need a break. The host is incredibly accommodating, which makes it easy to communicate in case of a problem or question. The location is also central to Silicon Valley, making it easy for me to visit tech companies in the area. This is an awesome business-traveler-friendly place to stay, give it a try!

Cozy cottage with modern convenience

Wake up to the sound of the birds chirping and the flow of a nearby stream and you'll have found a little bit of heaven tucked away from the hassle and bustle of California. Although small, every bit of space is used to the optimum with all the modern conveniences except a dishwasher. I wouldn't recommend to parties larger than three. The owner was very supportive to her guests and helped make our stay enjoyable. It's central location was a imajor plus.
