About this property

So Close to the Water, You Feel Part of It!

So Close to the Water, You Feel Part of It

As summer’s last golden days ease into fall, Water’s Edge invites you to slow down and savor life beside Holmes Harbor. Lingering afternoons, cooler evenings, and the changing light bring a different kind of beauty to the waterfront—and you have a front-row seat to it all.

The sunrises can be glorious, filling the sky and harbor with color. But sunrise is only the beginning. Its brightest colors may last just twenty minutes; the pleasure of being this close to the water stays with you all day. You hear it, smell the salt air, and watch the light move across its surface. It becomes part of your day, from your first cup of coffee to the quiet moments before bed.

Set directly on nearly 101 feet of low-bank waterfront, Water’s Edge brings the harbor right into your everyday experience. Eagles soar overhead, herons keep watch along the water’s edge, and seals often rest on the neighboring floating dock. The tides shift, boats pass, and the scene outside is always changing. Even an afternoon spent doing very little can feel wonderfully full.

This is a lovely time of year to settle into the slower rhythm of island life. Enjoy breakfast overlooking the water, linger on the deck when the sun is warm, or curl up indoors and watch the harbor as the evening cools. Venture out to explore Whidbey Island, then come home to share a meal while the last light softens across the bay.

Water’s Edge is equally suited to a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a relaxing retreat with close friends. There is room for shared meals and conversation, and time for the simple pleasures that busy lives so often crowd out. Children can watch for seals and passing boats, while adults enjoy a leisurely morning without anywhere they need to be.

Often, the moments that stay with us are the simplest: a family gathered around breakfast with the harbor just outside, the excitement of spotting an eagle, or a conversation that carries on long after the sun has gone down. Water’s Edge offers a setting where those moments happen naturally.

Despite its peaceful waterfront location, the home is conveniently close to Freeland’s restaurants, shops, grocery stores, and parks. Spend your days discovering island favorites or simply enjoying the water from the comfort of your retreat.

Whether you’re holding onto a little more summer or welcoming the quieter pleasures of fall, Water’s Edge offers space to breathe, time to reconnect, and the rare pleasure of living right beside the water.

Reduced weekday rates and savings on week-long stays make it easier to linger a little longer.

Waterfront & Beach Access: Water’s Edge sits directly on the waterfront, with close-up harbor views from the home and deck. There are no stairs or direct beach access from the property; public beach access is available nearby.

Please Note: Water’s Edge is currently on the market. While showings are infrequent, there may occasionally be a request to view the home during your stay. Any showing would be arranged well in advance, coordinated directly with you, and only with your approval. Your comfort, privacy, and enjoyment of the property remain our priority.

About the host

Ever since the family vacations in Birch Bay growing up, I have been drawn to the water. The call of the bird, the honk of the seals, the majestic flight of the Eagles… there’s always plenty of activity.

So when I found this place, when I found Waters Edge, it called out loud to me.

And I get to share it with you.

Why they chose this property

Waters Edge is so close to town and yet so very private. We are 30 feet from the waters edge so the neighbors on each side are further back. It’s a long deep lot with 101 lineal feet of waterfront. Private and yet convenient.

What makes this property unique

Before living at Waters Edge I used to think when the tide was in was the best part of the day.

Now I know it’s when the tide is out that there’s all the activity of nature. It’s just so wonderful to see.
