Minimountain Resort at Rancho de la Sierra encompasses 27 acres of natural vegetation and desert landscapes, known as a semi-arid tropical forest, and is a perfect sanctuary to rest and unwind. Located just north of the Los Cabos International
The bungalow is equipped with a complete kitchenette. the bedroom has 2 comfortable single beds,pushed together makes a king! private bathroom with shower and palapa covered outdoor patio. Lay back, relax and soak up the Baja sun around the outdoor swimming pool which includes a sandy beach area for sunbathing. The shaded poolside palapa features an outdoor kitchen with wet bar, charcoal and propane barbeque, firepit and bathrooms for your convenience and enjoyment.
Crystal clear nights provide an opportunity to gaze at the stars and remarkable constellations while sitting around a wood-burning campfire.
This bungalow is one of three on the property and strategically placed on a hilltop with views of the mountains.

This place is a gem. Beautiful views of the mountains, exquisite desert landscaping, comfortable stand alone building with everything you need. We appreciated the peaceful and safe atmosphere, away from the busyness of some of the close by tourist attractions. Conveniently close to the airport. The hosts Britta and Brett couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful in helping us find the best places to visit.

If you want to experience another side of the Baja other than it's beautiful beaches this is the place! It is off the beaten track. Very peaceful spot surrounded by nature ! Wake to the sound of the birds singing ! Loved it. Hosts are very helpful and accommodating.

Found serenity in the desert

First let me say Britta and Brett were wonderful hosts. Everything about the week was excellent. The casita was perfect, everything you needed to be comfortable. The thing that was most enjoyable to us was the wonderful sounds of silence. Other than the odd plane what you heard was the birds, and the breeze. Very relaxing. Special thanks to our hosts for taking us with them on a road trip to the VidaSoul for dinner and an excellent band. Thanks for everything and we hope to see you again. BTW, ask Britta to stop and get you some of the best tortillas you will ever have in Santa Anita

Please don't let this out!!

What a find! The shear peace and quiet as well as a million stars every night made this an incredible experience. We would love to recommend this to everybody but have mixed emotions about sharing. The high desert (with pool) experience was a stark contrast to the "Cabo Wabo" pro drinking circuit.This made the return home(reality) a bit bumpy which is what a truly great vacation experience should do. The accommodations were as promised, our hosts were very gracious and now we are counting the days until the next trip to Santa Anita. Thanks Britta and Brett!!

Disappointing

The property is lovely but the hosts have everything set up so you are entirely dependent on them. We could not get our rental car to the property, even though they said a front wheel drive would be all right. If we needed a four wheel drive, they should have told us so we could rent one! So they would have to shuttle us any time we wanted to leave the property. The swimming pool was covered and we weren’t allowed to use it without asking them to take the cover off. There was a fire pit, but we couldn’t use it without asking them for wood. There was wifi, but only if we walked to their house and sat on their deck to use it. Etc. Etc. We specifically booked this place to be away from people and didn’t want to have to engage with our hosts for each and every move we made. Some people might like that, but we’re not those people. We paid a lot of money for six nights and had to leave after one night. We are not wealthy and had to rent another place “on the fly” and paid a premium to do so. Plus it was stressful and very upsetting (yes, there were tears) to learn that a listing that sounded so idyllic turned out to be quite traumatic for us. It would be very appreciated I’d we could receive a partial refund. We could not stay there because access to the property was misrepresented. We have used VRBO for other holidays but will be very careful if we decide to use again.

Best breed

Unique. Earthy (in a good way). Unpretentious. Free of bright lights and noise. Plenty of sunrise, sunset, star gazing, quiet. Wonderful place to build your day around birds, respectful visits from sweet dogs, sunrise to sunset and after. Most accommodating and helpful hosts ever.

What an amazing place

You can't find a better host than Bretta and Britt. They are knowledgeable, friendly and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The cabins are cozy, the location is simply spectacular and is convenient to all attractions. It was a memorable experience for us and we will come back to the place again soon.

Rental at Mini Mountain Resort north of San Jose del Cabo

This was our first trip to Mexico and what an amazing oasis we feel privileged to have stumbled upon. From our first minute driving off the highway from the airport, our exciting adventure began as we thought we were on a Mexican desert safari. Upon arriving at the Mini Mountain Resort, the breathtaking views, the unique ecosystem of plants and birds caught us by complete surprise. The peace and stillness of the night, made the stargazing like an IMAX infinite screen! We learned that most areas of interest to tour are all easily doable using this location as a home base. We highly recommend this destination for anyone wanting to experience Mexico. We hope to return someday to stay longer.

Off The Beaten Path

This hidden oasis was a delightful place to land after escaping the chaos of the city. We woke up to birds chirping and explored the area during our morning walks. The days were spent enjoying the private pool and unwinding with friends. This is a hidden retreat amongst the cactus with carefully manicured pathways that are delightfully lit up at night. The stars were spectacular and we could see Saturn ascending in the eastern sky. The Casitas are clean and well maintained. Brett and Britta are gracious hosts and provided a wealth of local information. Upon our final day I was sad to pack up and wished we could stay longer to enjoy the magic of the surroundings.

Unforgettable!

We very much enjoyed the peace and quiet offered at the ranch! Everything was neat and clean, Brett & Britta were wonderful hosts. Every detail was taken care of... from the fully stocked refrigerator, charcoal for the barbecue pit and chopped wood for the bonfire pit! Brett and Britta made us feel right at home and even invited us to supper in their home on her first night on the Ranch. We struck up a friendship which made the stay more enjoyable. The pool and barbecue area provide beautiful views. We walked daily and enjoyed a tour of Brett's organic farm! Very cool!

Rancho de Sierra: beautiful serene dessert mini resort.

If you are looking for that special quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life this the place to visit. Beautiful scenery, tucked away in the Baja dessert. Birds singing, flying and lots of dessert plants to admire. The owners Britta and Brett are awesome hosts and took lots of thought into the planning of this quiet hideaway. No phones or TV but there is internet access. Great little pool with huge bbq area that is covered. The cottages are perfect size for a couple with all the needed amenities. We did our own cooking which worked out well, only a stove was missing but not needed. Britta did our grocery shopping before we arrived so no car was needed. We stayed here for 3 days to unwind before our week in Cabo. Very private with just the sound and sights of the Baja dessert. Would highly recommend it to any one, kids also. Looking forward to returning.

Spectacular

If you are looking for a relaxing wind down of the everyday stresses of life, THIS is the place to go! I can honestly say that, as I have stayed there, was difficult to leave :( The photos definitely reveal the property and appearance. The hosts are amazing and truly would like you to enjoy the best stay and R & R you have ever experienced! I am looking forward to my next Mexican vacation and a stay at the ranch :)

Paradise made perfect

Brett and Britta picked us up at the airport with cold Corona's, which was just what we need to adjust to the warm temperatures. It is a short drive to Rancho de la Sierra, and upon arrival our casita was well stocked with groceries and goodies we had asked them to shop for. Nothing better than a well stocked fridge with cold Coronas before a dip in the private swimming pool to cool off. We had the opportunity to visit Todos Santos and San Jose. We thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful and private surroundings of this resort. Britta speaks fluent Spanish which was helpful for our shopping trip to San Jose. They are lovely hosts and will do just about anything to ensure your stay meets your expectations....and there is no doubt you will want to return. I'm already planning a return trip this spring. Honestly, it really doesn't get any better, if you are looking for a peaceful, private setting away from the crowds of the all-inclusive resorts. I would strongly recommend you include this little gem in your plans. I know we will be back !!

We were picked up at the airport by Brett, and he just happened to have a half dozen cold beer in a cooler. And that was fantastic because by the time we left customs we were very parched. That was the BEST start to a wonderful holiday. We arrived at Rancho de la Sierra to find a fully stocked fridge, full of produce, cold beer and all the groceries we asked them to get. We never left the ranch for 3 days, we just unwound with our books by the pool. We then rented a car and went down to San Jose and the next day to San Lucas and our last day was spent travelling to Todos Santos having lunch at The Hotel California. We had a fantastic holiday at the ranch and will definitely go back.

The Baja has always been a special place for Brett and Britta since meeting at the Los Cabos International Airport in 1997 and then honeymooning in La Paz in 1998. After travelling around the world, they were always drawn back to the Baja and knew that one day they would make this their home.

Brett and Britta’s enthusiasm to share the peace and tranquility of their ranch as well as the desert flora and fauna, prompted them to create the Mini-mountain resort with the aim of sharing their experiences and unique lifestyle. Their Hacienda is situated on the estate at Rancho de la Sierra.
