About this property
Lake Tahoe Magic: Palisades, Tahoe City, the Famous West Shore. Hot Tub, Dogs OK
Stay at Tahoe's famous West Shore, near Palisades, Lake Tahoe, and downtown Tahoe City!
Relax in the outdoor hot tub, or inside by the fire. Sled in the yard, visit the Lake overlook or snowshoe to Paige Meadows. Take the nearby shuttle to the backside of Palisades, skipping traffic and parking.
Gather in the great-room, with forest views all around and sliver Lake views. Feed your group from the well-equipped kitchen and large grill. Enjoy games for all ages.
Bring the dogs too!
Any questions? Please feel free to reach out, I would be happy to answer them. I'm happy to help with recommendations and planning activities for your trip.
Open Living Spaces
The entire top floor of the house is an open great room, so your group or family can all be together. There are windows all around looking out on the pine forest, with sliver views of the Lake. There's a real wood burning woodstove for ambiance. Gather your group around the table, and if you need more seats, pull over the smaller table. Otherwise the smaller table serves as a work area, or as a game or puzzle table. Enjoy the books, games, toys and puzzles for all ages. There's an area to the side with an Eames style chair, perfect for reading (or napping!) Get creative and make your mark on the chalkboard wall.
Kitchen and Grill
Feed your group from the fully equipped kitchen, which opens onto an island with stools and the great room. There's a gas stove, Breville gourmet small appliances, common utensils, and some common staples and spices. We supply coffee, tea, sugar, etc. There will be snacks and beverages awaiting your arrival. There's a huge Weber propane grill on the back deck. Off the kitchen is a pantry with the one of two washer/dryers, and one of three full bathrooms.
Upper Deck
Two sets of French doors lead to the large upper deck, where you will feel like you're out in the forest. There's a table, chairs, and umbrella and grill, all surrounded by the pine forest.
Hot Tub
On the lower back deck there is a hot tub, which will be freshly serviced before you arrive.
Lake Tahoe Park Private HOA Included
The most amazing part of the house, arguably is not the house. The house belongs to the extraordinary Lake Tahoe Park HOA beach and waterfront park, the nicest private HOA waterfront on Lake Tahoe. The HOA has the longest private HOA beach in Tahoe, and two piers to take you out into the Lake for extraordinary views year round. There are private picnic areas, many of which are on the Lake, and a playground. You can extend your Tahoe stay by using the HOA before check-in or after check-out. In Summer, there is volleyball, basketball, swimming, horseshoes and corn hole. I can reserve you a private picnic area with a BBQ grill and picnic table, just let me know. You are my guests at the HOA, there are no fees or restrictions.
Four Bedrooms
- Primary Bedroom with en suite bath. There is a sitting area with a gas woodstove, couch, coffee table, lounge chair and desk. There's an en suite full bathroom with a double shower for two people. The kitchenette has a coffee maker, microwave and convection oven, hot plate, and a washer and dryer in addition to the one upstairs. There is a door leading directly to the hot tub.
- Green Room. There is a new queen mattress and bedding, down pillows and comforter, full length mirror, luggage rack, bedside lamps and a monitor/tv.
- Blue Room. There is a new queen mattress and bedding, down pillows and comforter, full length mirror, luggage rack, desk and chair and bedside lamps.

There is ample storage on the decks for any outdoor sports equipment you may bring.
Lake Overlook and the National Forest
Just steps from the house is one of the best views of Lake Tahoe. Catch your morning inspiration, or enjoy the sunset! A trail leads from the backyard to the National Forest, with a vast network of trails. In Winter there's snowshoeing, and the trail connects to Granlibakken's groomed cross country trails (free). In Summer there's something for every level of hiking or mountain biking. From the backyard there is year round easy access to the Truckee River, and the famous Paige Meadows, a string of alpine meadows filled with wildflowers and surrounded by aspen and firs.
There's a small village in the neighborhood, a satellite of Tahoe City. There's Sunnyside restaurant, bar, and marina, Shaddyside Mexican restaurant and bar, West Shore Market, Firesign Cafe, Spoon Restaurant, a watersports school and boat rental shop, and a bike, kayak and SUP (paddleboard) rental shop. Nearby is Tahoe House bakery and market. The path along the Lake and down the Truckee River runs passed all these.
Palisades and Northstar
You can't get much closer to Palisades while still being near the Lake and a town! The bases of both Alpine Meadows and Palisades Tahoe are both about nine miles away, and accessible by free shuttle. Better yet, there's a free four mile shuttle to the back side of the Alpine Meadows side of Palisades, with parking at the bottom of the neighborhood and no traffic or parking reservations or fees at the resort to worry about! From the shuttle you can ski/ride to anywhere on both sides of Palisades.
The location is classic Lake Tahoe at its very best.
You have exclusive use of the entire property, including the hot tub.
You have full access to the private Lake Tahoe Park HOA beach and park. You are my guests - there are no extra charges.
I love sharing my home, Tahoe, and the mountains with people! I am always happy to help you plan your Lake Tahoe visit. I can recommend activities, restaurants, equipment rentals, the best places to visit and things to do.
I try to respond immediately if you have questions or need anything. If there's an issue during your visit, either I, my co-host Jenny, or the housekeeper Melissa will come to the house.
Misc. infrastructure notes:
- The wifi has speeds like in the Bay Area. There is a repeater that ensures it reaches everywhere in the house.
- There is generally good cell coverage at the house.
- For EV charging there is a standard 110 volt outlet and a 220 dryer-style outlet you're welcome to use. There is a very large Tesla charging station and a non-Tesla charger, both about two miles away.
- There are battery powered lanterns in the house and an outdoor gas generator for power outages.
Relax in the outdoor hot tub, or inside by the fire. Sled in the yard, visit the Lake overlook or snowshoe to Paige Meadows. Take the nearby shuttle to the backside of Palisades, skipping traffic and parking.

Why they chose this property
The location is Lake Tahoe at its very best!
Palisades and Northstar
You can't get much closer to Palisades and still be near the Lake and a town! The bases of both Alpine Meadows and Palisades Tahoe are both nearby, and accessible by shuttle. Better yet, there's a shuttle to the back side of the Alpine Meadows side of Palisades, with parking at the bottom of the neighborhood and no traffic or parking reservations or fees to worry about! Palisades has world-class skiing and riding, shops, restaurants, year-round scenic tram rides and tubing. Also close is Northstar, which has skiing, riding and ice skating in Winter and mountain biking in Summer.
While "downtown" Tahoe City is only a couple miles away, you may never feel the need to go there, as there's a little satellite of town in the neighborhood.
There you'll find West Shore Market, which carries the basics and has a deli, pizza, gelato, coffee and baked goods. Nextdoor is Shadyside Mexican restaurant. Next to that is Sunnyside Resort which has a restaurant and bar lakeside and a full service marina. Firesign is the go-to for breakfast and brunch. Spoon has outstanding food (in Summer take food across the street to the HOA and eat it lakeside!). Tahoe House is a beloved Bavarian bakery which also has great sandwiches and coffee, and New Moon Market is a natural foods market with a great take-away kitchen in the back. For Summer there's a rental shop for power boats, jet skis, kayaks and paddleboards (SUPs), a watersports school and a bike rental shop.
The walking and biking trail that leads around the Lake, into town and down the Truckee River runs through the bottom of the neighborhood.
The "Downtown" shopping district of Tahoe City features many more restaurants and bars, some with live music acts, a movie theatre, a lakefront park with a large playground, many shops, and a full-sized Safeway. The Tahoe City Golf Course has golf in Summer and a great sled hill, ice skating, and even curling in Winter.

What makes this property unique
Private Lake Tahoe Park HOA Beach and Park
The highlight of the neighborhood and the surrounding area is the Lake Tahoe Park private HOA. It is arguably the nicest HOA waterfront facility on Lake Tahoe. You use it as my guest - there are no fees or restrictions. Even in Winter it is one of the most beautiful places anywhere to experience the Lake. It has Tahoe's longest stretch of private HOA beach, and two piers that place you out into a panoramic view of Lake Tahoe. There's a playground and waterside picnic areas with picnic tables. In Summer the picnic areas are reservable, and each has a private BBQ. There's also basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, bocce and corn hole. In Summer I highly recommend you have me reserve you a private BBQ / picnic area during your stay.
Lake Tahoe Overlook, the National Forest, and beyond!
Just steps from the house is one of the best views of Lake Tahoe. It's a locals' favorite for instant inspiration, longer contemplation, or a glass of wine. Catch your morning inspiration, or enjoy the sunrise or sunset! The same trail from the backyard goes to the National Forest. In Winter there's snowshoeing and cross country skiing, and the trail connects to Granlibakken's groomed cross country trails (free and open to the public). In Summer there's something for every level of hiking or mountain biking. An immense network of trails, including the trails maintained by Granlibakken Resort but open to the public, will take you to the Tahoe Rim Trail, and then all the way to the Sierra Crest Trail, without crossing a road. A must-see is the famed Paige Meadows, a string of alpine meadows bursting with wildflowers in Summer and sublime in Winter's snow. The Truckee River, Tahoe City, Ward Canyon, Twin Peaks, Blackwood Canyon and Eagle Rock are popular destinations.
