Screened porch, Lake Huron views, quiet sub, walk to beach and town in minutes!

(Minimum night stay flexible by request)
You will love our clean 4 bedroom/2 bath cottage as much as we do! The home is located in a quiet sub right in downtown Port Austin. Fully stocked with everything you need from pots and pans all the way to a beach supplies. Relax and have dinner on our deck or have cocktails on the front screened porch - both with lake views across the road (not directly on water). Walk to the Farmer's Market and restaurants in town, Paks Backyard, kayak rental, marina, Glen Royal Wedding Venue and the State Harbor in minutes. Bird Creek Park and Beach and splash pad are right in our park neighborhood by Bird Creek Beach. You can walk everywhere!
(Please keep in mind that your booking amount includes a refundable security deposit when totaled).
*Sleeps 10 ~Two bedrooms have Queen beds and two have full beds. NON pull out couches in the living room if you need some more room.
*Two bathrooms. One full with shower and tub and the other with shower.
* Appliances: stove/oven, fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster.
* No dishwasher or laundry facilities, however, the Coffee Bean and Clean is about 0.1 miles up the street. Grab a coffee and throw in a load of laundry if needed.
* Linens provided : towels, sheets, pillows and blankets . We have some beach towels not many.
* Fire pit. Additional chairs behind house.
* Huge yard for games (we have games for use)
* Help yourselves to our beach supplies cooler, wifi, DVD/VHS. Smart TV

*Central air/heat Please respect our neighbors. Quiet hours 11pm. No tents or RV at any time!

It was walkable to town. My grandkids stay 2 nights and liked walking about the neighborhood. The place was out dated for our taste. Couches need to be replaced (felt and looked like something you’d find at the Salvation Army 35 years old). Silverware drawer was hard to open. The mattresses need replacing. The bathrooms were good and one was updated. We left a day early with the cottage exactly the way we found it. If you have kids be careful of a bin with half full liquor. We did enjoy the fresh breeze and open space on the deck.

Hi Suzanne - I really hope this poor review wasn’t because I would not allow a full refund cancellation 4 days before your stay. Sorry the cottage was not as up to what you were expecting. The pictures are very accurate. Cottage is spotless but cottage looking, yes. No surprises. Two of the four beds were replaced 2 weeks before your stay. The other two have never been complained about (neither were the replaced ones). The couches always have new couch covers. If the look of couch covers looks like they are from a Salvation Army 35 years ago. I can’t be sure what you are used to, but again, they are in pictures. Thank you for letting me know about the silverware drawer. The liquor should not be accessible. So sorry about that. They are stored tightly among other bins in our utility closet. Not sure how those were exposed. I’m sorry the cottage was not up to par and again I’m sorry I would not provide you with a refund for such short notice in the peak of summer. Our policy is pretty clear. We appreciate you staying. Mary

The location is wonderful. The kitchen is very well equipped, and Mary was so responsive. The bath tub is first rate. The property is on a corner lot in a very nice neighborhood. We enjoyed the warmth of the fire pit and the coziness of the side porch. Ample parking was great when our cousins visited.
