Cozy Pine Mountain Club Cabin
2 bedroom, 1 bath, pet-friendly, great fireplace
Welcome to this charming cabin in Pine Mountain. Enjoy an inexpensive getaway in just an hour and a half from LA, halfway between the I-5 at the Grapevine and Santa Maria on the coast. Located on a cul-de-sac in Pine Mountain Club, a private community in the Los Padres National Forest.
There is normally no added cleaning fee for your rental because I rent this as a HOUSEKEEPING CABIN - GUESTS PROVIDE THEIR OWN SHEETS, TOWELS AND FIREWOOD AND CLEAN THE CABIN WHEN LEAVING. There's no washer/dryer at the cabin so guests provide their own linens. Cleaning is easy - I provide a simple checklist and all cleaning supplies. My manager will check the cabin when you leave.
The cabin is located on two lots on a cul-de-sac, total 2/3 acre, and backs up to a green belt, so it feels very private. All knotty pine interior with lodge-like furnishings. Two large bedrooms - one with a queen bed, one with a full and a twin; highchair; one bathroom with combination tub/shower; stone fireplace; large deck overlooking wooded area. Large well-equipped kitchen, including condiments in the fridge. No dishwasher.
Two smart TVs for streaming, plus books, board games and puzzles. Dual-pane windows for comfort summer and winter. Wifi internet connection and Magic Jack phone for domestic calls (at the moment there is only Verizon cell service in PMC - now Spectrum cell service works off Verizon towers.)
Rental includes access to beautiful mountain golf course; swimming pool in summer months (a $5 charge per guest by PMC Homeowners Association); archery; catch-and-release fishing in Fern Lake, a 20 minute walk away; tennis courts; basketball and volleyball court; children's playground; clubhouse with video game room, restaurant, lounge with wifi and live music on weekends.
Village business area has restaurants, bakery, gas station, market, laundromat, post office; gift shops, internet cafe plus seasonal festivals and fairs. Hiking, sledding and cross-country skiing on Mount Pinos (8800') 25 minutes away. Just across the street from the cabin are the Snowflake Trails - a lovely wooded area with pathways leading to the village, and rustic tables under the trees - an easy woodsy walk without getting in the car, especially nice for little kids.
In the winter, we provide sleds, and you are welcome to use the extra boots and gloves for adults and kids kept in a closet downstairs. There is no smoking in the cabin.
Refundable $200 cleaning/security deposit required to hold reservation; deposit will be returned in full once the cabin has been checked and found clean and undamaged.
Roads are very well maintained by Pine Mountain Club, but weather can change quickly in the mountains so be prepared with 4-wheel drive or chains in winter. Rarely, during snowy weather the CHP may stop you from driving into PMC or up to Mt. Pinos if you don't carry chains, even if you're not required to put them on.
Check in after 4:00 PM Minimum age to rent: 21 Check out before 1:00 PM No events allowed Pets allowed: dogs and cats (limit 2 total) Pets allowed by prior arrangement with owner Smoking is not permitted. Guests agree to bring their own sheets and towels and clean the cabin when leaving in exchange for not being charged a cleaning fee. No parties or loud groups in consideration of neighbors. No smoking in the cabin. Be very careful to dispose of butts safely if smoking outdoors.
There is only Verizon cell phone service at Pine Mountain Club (Spectrum now works on Verizon towers). You need to connect your to wifi while at the cabin. Magic Jack phone available for domestic calls.
Mt. Pinos, 25 minutes away, has x-country skiing and snowboarding and sledding. I provide several sleds as well as an assortment of extra gloves and boots for your use.
Game room at PMC Clubhouse is available to guests - just bring guest cards for each person, found in box on counter. There is also a very nice kiddie playground in the village and a basketball court
There is plenty of room to park in my long driveway. There is no street parking in Pine Mountain Club; in winter the snowplows won't plow streets where cars are parked.
Clear skies with little ambient light give great views of the mountains and the night sky. The parking lot at the top of Mt. Pinos, 8800' and 20 minutes away, is a mecca for amateur astronomers.
THE SNOWFLAKE TRAILS: The cabin is located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. Across from the cabin is the entrance to the Snowflake Trails, a beautiful series of trails among the pine trees built by my neighbor for the benefit of the community. There are little tables and chairs made from tree stumps, painted rocks and gnomes left by locals, and hidden rooms crafted from the willow that grows there. You can walk through the trails to the village in 10 minutes, or explore other trails in all directions.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Really enjoyed our stay at Pine Mountain Club. This property is a 10 minute walk to the Cafe, General Store, Pizza Place, and other locations. There is a beautiful trail/path near the cabin that leads to the locations previously mentioned. The cabin itself had everything needed for a comfortable stay. We used the fireplace and bbq, both worked great. The wifi signal was strong, and the TV's worked properly. The property manager (Maureen) responded quickly to our questions, and made some special accommodations that were appreciated. I don't think you will find a property closer to the General Store for price, it was well worth supplying our own sheets and towels.Thank you Maureen!
