This is a place to find relaxation and fun. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and small families, and those who enjoy water sports such as swimming, fishing, paddle boating, kayaking, and rowing in the warmer weather. In the winter there skiing, snow shoeing, and ice fishing nearby. The spring is fishing season. Most of our guest book for a week in the summer. The fall, winter and spring season all have beauty, enchanting experiences.

This property exceeded my expectations - the bathroom and shower off the master bedroom was great as was the comfort, the view, the quiet, etc. The hosts were highly helpful and communication worked out well. I highly recommend this property and the hosts if a classic cottage on a pond is your idea of a great get-away.
Charles reached out to confirm we got in w/ease. The lake was beautiful quiet & secluded.
Tucked away on a country road, a cozy cabin with good books, kayaks, quilts and cast iron skillets is ready for a weekend of simple living and loon song admiring.
A friend and I spent 2 weeks in this lovely spot on Gould Pond. The house was pleasant, clean and comfortable. The deck was great for eating out, entertaining and just lounging. Amazingly few insects! The hummingbirds were very entertaining. The lake was great for swimming and kayaking. And the road around the lake perfect for twice daily walks. Neighbors were very friendly and it was fun to see familiar faces every day. All in all a very relaxing vacation. Even got to use the wood burning stove one cool day.
Very nice and cozy. Love the view. Can’t wait to go again.

Exactly what I was looking for
Very private and very restful. I loved the 6 sided deck right on the water. Added bonus of having actually dark nights, compared to the city. Will definitely go back!
We had a enjoyable and comfortable stay. The house is comfortable, and the location is splendid. We enjoy seeing many birds, kayaking, and fishing. Caught a very nice bass under the full moon one night, which was really cool. You will not be disappointed with his rental!
The property was clean and as described on the posting. Checking in and out was super easy and there were easy to follow instructions. Charlie kept in touch and was a phone call away if we needed anything

Really nice cozy lakefront home.
My family and I including 2 dogs had a great time at your vacation home. The fenced in yard was perfect for the dogs. My grandson had his first boat trip on the paddleboat and we all enjoyed the kayaks. We have some great pictures and memories. Very peaceful area for relaxing by the lake. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hummingbird. Many memories
We’re made. The lake was so magical . We ienjoyed it from the wonderful deck at the house, the deck by the water, the dock and the provided boats. We really relaxed and took in all the offerings. We were visited by Loons , Beaver and a Bear even made a presence! The swimming was refreshing and clean and the house provided all the comforts. We really hope to be back.. Thank you Charlie and Mary!
This New Hampshire pond house is a tranquil, clean and quiet oasis to enjoy canoeing, swimming and just relaxing on the owner's dock with a book. Observing and hearing the loons was a delight. The house is as described. The owners provided a very complete kitchen where you can really cook. (Not the usual case in many if not all of the VRBOs we have stayed in before.) The little town is about a 10 minute drive away for groceries etc. and a few cafes. We had a lovely vacation and certainly would return.
The house is very comfortable and well equipped, with all modern conveniences save a dishwasher (which was not an issue for simple summer cooking). The decor is attractive, giving off a rustic, cozy vibe. All the beds were covered with beautiful old pastel quilts. The swimming from the dock at the bottom of the yard was lovely and I appreciated the ladder that led directly into the pond. There are a number of small canoes or kayaks by the dock and the study has a number of board games and puzzles. The neighborhood is quiet, and essential shopping is a 3 - 6 minute drive away. This is a lovely spot for enjoying a quiet lake vacation.
As always we've enjoyed ourselves. The house has all the modern conveniences, but with a rustic and homey feel to the place. This summer owners added a very nice full bathroom upstairs, which was a game changer for everyone sleeping on the second floor (especially at night). The setting feels private because the house is tucked back in a wooded area up on a hill. Having all the boats (kayaks, and canoes), was a plus, as well as easy access in and out of water. The view from the roomy deck was beautiful, and became the main place we hung out (when not in the water) during the day. Owners were attentive to communications. This year there were 3 loons on the pond. That's it in a nutshell!
We are so grateful we rented this all-season house on a lake in Hillsborough! Everything was surprisingly clean and fresh and Charlie and Mary were exceedingly accommodating to our requests even though it was a last minute decision to go there. The beds are comfortable and the 3 floors- upstairs for the bedrooms, main floor with a small study-third bedroom- and a basement with an additional bedroom/space made it very comfortable for our party of 4 and everyone managed to find a comfortable space. There is no dishwasher but that was fine with us and we appreciated the extra paper plates available. We felt well taken care of by very generous and accommodating hosts! And we were originally drawn to the promise of loons on the lake..if anything, I was awakened by their calls early in the morning. It is a very special place.
We spent a lovely week enjoying the Lakehouse. Getting some fishing and R&R time in. The house is very clean and in great shape. At one point we noticed that the gas grill wasn’t working properly. Charlie and Mary came out just as soon as they could with a brand new grill to replace the old one. They are really nice people. After we left, we realized that my son left his wallet behind. Charlie and Mary were kind enough to find it and mail it back to us without even charging us for shipping.
Thanks again for such a relaxing stay listening to the loons and catching fish to our hearts content.
We enjoyed our stay. 2nd floor bedrooms and bathroom were very nice and house was comfortable. Posting that there were 3 bedrooms was a bit misleading. There was a twin bed and uncomfortable futon in the musty basement. There was also an uncomfortable pullout in the library. I wouldn't have called either of those spaces a bedroom. However, we made it work. It would be helpful to leave a note for renters about the cloudy water, but our question to the owner about it was quickly answered. Several other suggestions: an additional towel rack or pegs in the 2nd floor bathroom for bath towels. A curtain or blinds in that bathroom would also be great. And a clothesline for wet beach towels and bathing suits would be helpful. Despite these minor suggestions, we had a great week and enjoyed the lake. Heard and saw loons almost daily, and saw turtles and a beaver. Kayaking was great and family had fun fishing.
We had another great experience. House is great, fully stocked with everything you need. Great location, right on the lake with access to shopping and restaurants. Nice neighborhood with friendly people. Can't wait until next year to return.
We loved our time by the water on Hummingbird Lane. Every day we walked or ran around the lake, swam, kayaked, and enjoyed watching the water and sky from the deck and docks. This is a perfect setting for outdoor enthusiasts. We had a very peaceful and relaxing time.
The cottage was clean and organized. Charlie and Mary were good communicators, and we definitely hope to return next summer.
We truly loved every moment of our stay in this gorgeous location. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and no stress lake vacation experience.
The cabin/cottage has a nice feel to it--not overly modern, but a bit old fashion (in good way) with knotty pine through out the house. The outside deck with high view of lake were excellent. There are two docks near the water--one in the sun and other continuely in the shade. We kept going back and forth between the two, depending if we wanted shade of not. The lake is about 60 acres giving it an intimate feel. We love swimming-- so very manageable to swim across to the community beach. The best part is that the lake access is very good, no large rocks to hop over, and no muck to get through. We were 3 generations: grandparents, daughters, and granddaughter (teenagers) and used all the boats for kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Library has lots of games, which we played. We had a blast interacting with family. The guest book notes loons earlier in the year, though during out week there we saw/heard none. Don't miss the old stone bridges. Set GPS for Gleason Falls and you'll come to them.
I was looking for a relaxing and scenic getaway from the busy area I live in, I have to say this location is perfect! Nice and quiet and I loved having the lake(Pond) right in backyard it was beautiful with the little deck right on it where I can sit and just relax and enjoy quiet water. I could have went to Lake Winni or on ocean but this location at least at this time I didn’t see many people on water only a few so that was actually ideal as my #1 priority was quiet location
Charlie was great host he made sure I was happy and did have some supplies already available, I would definitely recommend this rental and consider coming back at a future time!
