We had such a great week at Mary’s place and wrapped it up with an amazing Fourth of July. The private beach was the highlight—being away from the crowds made it so peaceful. This was our rainbow baby’s first summer vacation, and it was so special watching her play in the sand while her big brother built sandcastles.The house is beautiful, and Mary wasn’t kidding about the fully stocked kitchen—it had everything we needed. My favorite part was nursing my baby on the screened porch every morning. It was quiet, breezy, and the perfect place to relax.Mary was a fantastic host. Anytime we had a small question, she responded quickly and worked with us to make sure everything was taken care of.The walk down to the beach is a little steep, so keep that in mind if you’re traveling with older adults, toddlers, or anyone with mobility concerns. That said, don’t let it stop you from booking. Even if someone in your group skips the beach, there’s still so much to enjoy at the house. We loved spending time on the porch, playing games, and just soaking in the peaceful surroundings.The beds were comfy, the showers stayed hot, and the house was spotless. It feels tucked away but is still close enough for grocery runs. If you need specialty foods, I’d recommend bringing them with you. My son loved playing Tensi, my husband had a blast with the cornhole boards, and my in-laws enjoyed long beach walks every day. I honestly can’t believe a place like this exists in the Midwest.
