About this property
Entire cabin for rent, 30-day minimum stay.
Perched near the peak of Screamer Mountain, located approximately 5 minutes’ drive from the town of Clayton, GA, Charming Cabin overlooks the valley that lies between Screamer Mountain and Black Rock Mountain. This cabin is fully furnished and available for a minimum 30-day rental.
The setting on the mountain affords views of Black Rock Mountain and seasonal views of the town of Clayton. This cabin is a wonderful place to relax or reconnect with friends and family. Sitting on the screened porch feels as if you are perched in the trees, you can relax to the sounds of the breeze and the songs of birds and as the day progresses to evening and night-time the sounds become that of tree frogs and crickets. Someone commented once that "it feels like we are sitting in the trees and are looking down at the squirrels!" The proximity to downtown Clayton, restaurants, grocery store, shopping, and nearby activities makes Charming Cabin a convenient place to stay as well as a home base from which to explore other areas of N. GA, or venture into NC or SC. Activities enjoyed by the owner and family have been local dining and shopping, whitewater rafting, hiking, golfing, fishing, sight-seeing, and boating on Lake Rabun and Lake Burton.
The road leading to the cabin and the private driveway are paved.
On the main level you will find the kitchen, living area with seating for four, gas log fireplace, TV, bedroom with two twin beds, full bath with tub/shower, and laundry closet with washer/dryer, vacuum cleaner, dust-buster, and first-aid kit.
Sliding glass doors in the living area and main level bedroom offer mountain views and access to the large, screened porch. On the porch you can relax on the porch swing, rocking chairs (2), and enjoy your meals at the table with seating for four. Seasonally, the table on the porch has doubled as an office for my husband when working from home.
Upstairs is a balcony with a sleeper sofa, bedroom with queen-sized bed and comfortable memory foam mattress, and full private bathroom (large shower, no tub). A small uncovered balcony is accessed from the loft. The upper-level bedroom and loft also offer mountain views. A large main level deck wraps around the cabin from the front door to the screened porch.

About the host
Hosted by Denise Landis
I grew up in Indiana, have lived in GA for more than half of my life, I guess I'm a Southern Hoosier. I retired from working in healthcare as a registered nurse when my husband was diagnosed with leukemia and Covid was making its way across the country.
We live near Braselton, GA, which is a 90-minute drive from the cabin. I have successfully managed this cabin as a short-term vacation rental through VRBO for several years, please read the reviews to get a good idea of guest experience and comments about the property. One surprise plus of vacation rental ownership happens to be the friendships I've made with some of the guests who have returned for repeated visits.
Recently, between changes in the vacation rental market and wanting to simplify life a little bit, I made the decision to switch to mid-term rental (minimum of 30 days stay). I am hoping to find success in this change.

Why they chose this property
The location and the beauty of NE GA mountains.
What makes this property unique
The screened porch is everyone's favorite! Sitting on the porch and enjoying amazing sunsets from late spring through mid-fall, watching the clouds roll by, seeing the stars at night, having birds-eye view of July 4 fireworks from town...The porch is our favorite place to start the day and end the day. The setting among trees gives you the feel of being in a big tree house.
The location of the cabin has the feel of being "away from it all" with the convenience of being approximately 5 minutes from the town of Clayton.
