An Old Florida Hideaway
Where Stories Are Shared, Evenings Linger, and Sarasota Slows Down
Some places are visited.
Others become part of your family's story.
Newly available for its first season, Indian Beach Hammock has been thoughtfully prepared from the ground up for time together in Sarasota.
Welcome to Indian Beach Hammock, an Old Florida home tucked beneath a magnificent live oak and palms in Sarasota's historic Museum & Arts District.
Spend mornings with coffee on the cedar front porch. Gather around the 32-square-foot quartz kitchen island. Watch the game beneath the tiki pavilion, grill dinner under the palms, challenge the family to Pac-Man, or dim the lights for movie night on the 98-inch screen.
Outside, softly illuminated pathways wind among seven mature mango trees, towering palms and a old live oak. As evening settles in, gather around the fire, pour something you love and let Sarasota slow down around you.
The fully fenced property offers both a private automatic gated entrance and a welcoming front-door arrival with keyless access. EV guests can recharge with the Tesla Universal Level 2 charger.
This isn't simply a place to sleep between Sarasota adventures.
The house is part of the vacation.
PERFECTLY PLACED — SARASOTA'S MUSEUM & ARTS DISTRICT
One of Indian Beach Hammock's greatest luxuries is its location.
Tucked into Sarasota's historic Indian Beach neighborhood and Museum & Arts District, you're close to the culture, dining and energy that make Sarasota special—while returning each evening to a quiet residential retreat beneath the trees.
Explore The Ringling Museum of Art and Ca' d'Zan, catch a performance at Asolo Repertory Theatre, visit Sarasota Jungle Gardens, or head just minutes south to Downtown Sarasota and the Bayfront for restaurants, galleries, theater, rooftop cocktails and waterfront evenings.
When the Gulf calls, St. Armands Circle, Lido Beach and Siesta Key are within easy reach.
And with SRQ Airport conveniently nearby, your Sarasota escape can begin shortly after you land.
Spend the day experiencing Sarasota.
Then come home to your own private hammock beneath the trees.
MORNINGS BEGIN HERE
Wake to birdsong, rustling palms and perhaps the distant call of one of the neighborhood's peacocks.
Step onto the welcoming front porch beneath its beautifully restored exposed cedar ceiling, settle into a comfortable chair with a fresh cup of coffee and let the day begin slowly.
Take a stroll toward Sarasota Bay and the Intracoastal Waterway, where morning light reflects across the water and the neighborhood still feels wonderfully unhurried.
This is Old Florida at its most genuine.
GATHER AROUND THE KITCHEN
Every memorable home has a place where people naturally gather.
Here, it's the expansive 32-square-foot quartz island.
Breakfast before the beach.
Fresh mangoes during summer.
Wine and appetizers while dinner simmers.
Late-night conversations long after the dishes are done.
The thoughtfully designed chef's kitchen features designer appliances, generous workspace and abundant cabinetry. It was created for sharing meals and making memories—not simply preparing them.
YOUR PRIVATE CINEMA
After a day exploring Sarasota, everyone seems to find their way back together.
Dim the lights, make the popcorn and settle into the dedicated theater featuring a 98-inch screen with Roku streaming, theater seating and an oversized beanbag that's almost impossible for younger guests to resist.
A classic stand-up Pac-Man arcade with 14 games brings Pac-Man, Galaga and other favorites to another generation.
There's also a PlayStation 4—for a little friendly competition
Movie night at Indian Beach Hammock isn't an afterthought.
It's part of the experience.
EVENINGS BENEATH THE OAKS, PALMS & MANGO TREES
As daylight fades, Indian Beach Hammock begins its evening ritual.
Soft landscape lighting illuminates pathways beneath the palms, seven mature mango trees and the magnificent old live oak that has watched over this neighborhood for generations.
The private tiki pavilion becomes the natural gathering place. Grill dinner, pour something cold and settle in beneath the thatched roof to watch the game or simply enjoy a Florida evening beneath the palms.
A professionally installed mosquito and insect misting system helps reduce nuisance insects throughout the outdoor areas, making warm Sarasota evenings that much more enjoyable.
Then end the night where some of the best conversations happen—around the fire beneath the old oak, roasting marshmallows, sharing a favorite libation or simply looking up through the canopy.
Relax beneath the stars.
Listen to the breeze move through the palms.
These aren't planned activities.
They're simply the kinds of evenings that happen here.
FIND YOUR FAVORITE CORNER
Not every moment needs an itinerary.
Some guests retreat to the cozy Reading Room, where walls of glass overlook softly illuminated gardens. Browse a book, play cards, enjoy a quiet morning or linger over an evening drink while vintage Sarasota photographs quietly tell the story of the area.
Others find themselves returning to the cedar porch, sitting beneath the old oak or escaping to the tiki with a book.
Every guest seems to discover a favorite corner.
There isn't a wrong choice.
PRIVATE, GATED & EFFORTLESS
Even your arrival is designed around choice.
Choose the traditional front approach from Bon Air Avenue, where the cedar porch welcomes you home and a keyless entry makes arrival simple and intuitive.
Or enter through the private automatic gate on Tennessee Avenue, pull your vehicle inside the fully fenced grounds and access the home from within the property.
Once settled in, simply use whichever entrance is most convenient.
Electric-vehicle guests can recharge right at home with a Tesla Universal Level 2 Wall Connector, compatible with Tesla and many other EVs.
No hunting for chargers.
No unnecessary stops.
Just plug in and enjoy Sarasota.
THOUGHTFULLY COMFORTABLE
Beautiful surroundings matter. So do the details you notice after living in a home for a few days.
Every bedroom has been prepared with carefully selected bedding, inviting linens and the comforts that make it easy to settle in and stay awhile.
The spacious primary suite offers a peaceful retreat, highlighted by a generous walk-in shower wrapped in floor-to-ceiling tile.
A dedicated pantry and laundry room add convenience for longer stays, allowing the house to feel as comfortable on day seven as it does on day one.
And because hospitality should feel gracious rather than transactional, professional cleaning is included in your stay—there is no separate cleaning fee.
We want departure to feel like the end of a wonderful vacation, not another list of charges and chores.
ROOTED IN SARASOTA
There's another layer to Indian Beach Hammock for those who enjoy discovering the story of a place.
People have lived along the shores of Sarasota Bay for thousands of years. Indigenous cultures flourished along Florida's Gulf Coast long before modern Sarasota emerged, leaving behind shell middens and other archaeological evidence that still connects this landscape to its earliest inhabitants.
The Calusa became one of Southwest Florida's most influential Indigenous societies, while the Seminole would later become an enduring part of Florida's history.
Indian Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods tell more recent chapters as well. Historic homes sit beneath majestic oaks and mature tropical gardens, while Sarasota's remarkable circus and arts heritage can still be felt throughout the area.
Indian Beach Hammock was created with respect for that sense of place—not to recreate the past, but to preserve some of the feeling that makes this corner of Sarasota special.
You'll see hints of that story throughout the home, including vintage Sarasota imagery and spaces designed to encourage the decidedly old-fashioned pleasures of sitting, talking, reading and simply spending time together.
A HOME WITH A STORY
Indian Beach Hammock isn't designed around a checklist of amenities.
It's designed around moments.
Morning coffee beneath the cedar porch.
Fresh mangoes gathered in season.
A quiet afternoon in the Reading Room.
A stroll beneath ancient oaks.
Dinner beneath the tiki.
Football under the palms.
Pac-Man tournaments.
Movies on the 98-inch screen.
Stories around the fire.
Quiet conversations that linger long after dinner.
We hope you'll explore Sarasota.
We hope you'll discover its beaches, museums, restaurants, theaters and remarkable history.
But more importantly...
We hope you'll feel at home here.
Welcome to Indian Beach Hammock.
Stay awhile. Gather often. Leave with a story.
A NOTE ABOUT OUR HISTORIC NEIGHBORHOOD
Indian Beach Hammock sits in an established Sarasota neighborhood where nearly century-old homes, beautifully restored residences and reminders of the city's early architecture still share the same streets.
Behind the property stands an unrestored 1924 home—a glimpse of old Sarasota still waiting for its next chapter. We like to imagine what it might become if someday restored to its original beauty.
Along our north side is historic Bay Haven School, originally built as Northside Elementary in 1926 and today a well-regarded neighborhood elementary school. The school's receiving area faces this side of our grounds, so guests may occasionally notice normal school-day activity or deliveries.
The neighboring school also contributes to the active, established character of the neighborhood. Privacy fencing, mature palms and tropical landscaping provide separation from the school grounds.
It's all part of the wonderfully eclectic fabric of this historic corner of Sarasota.
