You’ll have an unforgettable stay in our newly restored (2024) holiday rental, “Alte Liebe.” Deep in everyone’s heart lies an old love. We fell in love with this old half-timbered house because it’s located on the most architecturally interesting street in Wernigerode. Here, colourful half-timbered houses stand side by side, and the fountain in the middle of the area lends the entire street a special aura that will delight and inspire you as well.
Our house is a historic half-timbered building, renovated in accordance with preservation guidelines and using eco-friendly methods, located in the most popular part of the old town—the quiet Heideviertel / Westerntor area. It’s directly connected to the market square, the venerable town hall, and a shopping centre offering a wide variety of retail options. All attractions are easily accessible on foot.
Enjoy the comfort of modern accommodation spanning 75 square metres amidst the romantic charm of a half-timbered house. Peace and cosiness ensure perfect relaxation.
From here, you can set out on many well-marked hiking trails for your tours or take leisurely walks through the Harz Forest all the way to the Brocken. And if you don’t feel like walking, let the Harz Narrow-Gauge Railway do the work for you—it’s just a three-minute walk from the house.
Even on rainy days, Wernigerode offers plenty of beautiful places to relax and explore, as well as a wide range of recreational and sports activities for the whole family.
After a refreshing hike, round out your day with a stroll through the many cafes and restaurants offering a direct view of the Brocken and Wernigerode’s beloved “fairy-tale castle.”
While you’re enjoying your holiday, we want to make sure your car is well taken care of, too. We offer a free parking spot within walking distance. On your arrival and departure days, you may park briefly in front of the house to load and unload your car. Thank you for your understanding.
