Malaucene holiday lettings

We really loved the terrace, garden, pool and the view. The house is well situated within easy walking distance of the main town, with plenty of cafés, restaurants and a couple of excellents boulangeries. The house itself was perfectly ample for four of us to self-cater for a week, with bedding provided, a comfortable living area and very friendly hosts who gifted us delicious homemade pâté and a lovely bottle of red wine from an excellent local vineyard.

House and location was exactly as described. Evelyne was very friendly and helpful even though we did not speak the same language but managed to communicate via translate on our phones.The pool, house and location wereperfect

We cycled around the Ventoux for a week with friends. What a wonderful experience in this very luxurious villa. Getting bread in the village on foot, sunbathing in the winter sun at the pool, barbecuing in the beautiful outdoor kitchen with Big Green Egg and warming up in the evening by the wood stove. Besides the Mont Ventoux there are quite a lot of beautiful cycling routes from the house and then relax in the evening in the sauna with a dip in the cold pool! Pure enjoyment!

We received a warm welcome from Muriel and Marie who were attentive but discreet throughout our stay. The property is very clean, bright and comfortable and fitted out to a very high standard throughout. The living area opens out onto a patio for al fresco dining, overlooking the pool and beautifully maintained garden, with flower beds and mature trees. There are seats, loungers and a hammock situated in various places around the garden and pool. The property is very conveniently located for nearby Malaucéne, Vaison la Romaine, Mont Ventoux and the Côtes du Rhone vineyards. All in all, a beautiful place. Highly recommended.

Lovely high quality home furnished as if the family still lived here. Very well equipped and charming welcoming host. Fine views over Malaucene from garden, garage/workshop for bikes, laundry room etc. Excellent barbeque and pool. A short walk into town for shops/market/cafes etc Ideal base for cycling the Cotes du Rhone villages and hills

Just back home to rainy Wales, it's time to reflect on a beautiful week in Malaucène. The house is in a lovely, peaceful location in the shadow of Le Mont Ventoux. Malaucène is walkable, with Vaison la Romaine a short drive away to pick up shopping supplies. Both have nice places to eat and interesting history. Five of us stayed (two couples and one single adult). The room layout was fine. Although one double is reached from another, it is not the only entrance, so we just kept the adjoining door closed during our stay. The bedrooms are all spacious, clean and comfortable; the beds, in particular, were super-comfy! The upstairs ensuite and large downstairs bathroom were fine for five of us. The indoor living space was again well-equipped and comfortable, although I must confess that we spent almost all of our time outside! This brings me to the outside space, which was superb. A terrace with loungers/sofas and sunshade was a great spot to relax in, with a second, larger, terrace on the other side of the house containing a huge dining table and chairs, and barbecue. You could choose to soak up or avoid the sun at any point in the day. The lockable shed was really useful and the racks in it comfortably accommodated our five road bikes. A special mention must go to Sandra, who couldn't have been more helpful; answering enquiries pre-booking, responding to all communications post-booking really quickly, and being really friendly and welcoming during our stay. The apricot nectar and the prunes were a much appreciated gesture, too! Just one note of advice: don't trust your satnav! The easiest way to access La Cigalette is off the D938 just at the entrance/exit to Malaucène. I should have listened to Sandra when she advised that we contact her on our way in! Overall, a great house in a lovely part of Provence, whether cycling is your thing or not. We'd definitely come back to this area and would love to stay in La Cigalette again.
