The house is sited on a very private one-acre lot bordered by conservation land and a bayou. You can watch the wonderful birds of Sanibel, look for seashells in the sand, sun yourself in the secluded back yard, kayak in the bayou, or swim in the heated outdoor pool.

The house was fully renovated in 2024 with all new appliances. The open floor plan, the restored terrazzo floors, and the beautiful marble and dolomite countertops in the kitchen and bathroom give this house an elegant, spacious feel.

Activities to enjoy on Sanibel include bicycling to nearby Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, visiting the historic lighthouse, the Sunday Farmers’ Market, art galleries, craft fairs, trying your hand at Sanibel’s famous shell collecting, taking canoe and bike trails, and seeking the elusive green flash over the Gulf of Mexico at sunset.

Birdwatching from the house just keeps getting better! Just a few weeks ago, we had dozens of great egrets, snowy egrets, ibises, roseate spoonbills, and wood storks in the bayou just behind the house.

Amenities include a large-screen cable TV, wireless high-speed Internet, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, air fryer, linens, beach chairs, and a gas barbecue.

Guests are welcome to use the three kayaks and the bikes (two colorful, fun cruiser bikes and one tuned-up 10-speed).

Homes in Chateaux-sur-Mer must be rented for a minimum of 28 days.
