The pool was closed at short notice due to a health and safety issue. Due to it being so close to Christmas the owner and site management where unable to get the problem checked until January the 5th. I am sure any guest would under stand there safety came first.
We contact all guest that where due to visit the site as soon as we got this information.
The sewage smell was again not something we could control, we contacted the on call site maintenance man right away, who came and sorted the site problem out for us, it was nothing to do with our lodge . We where able to move the guest to one of our other holiday homes onsite, which they where happy to stay in.
A very nice clean, spacious property with everything you need for a short Christmas break. The setting is really nice. The only criticism we had is that it could benefit with an over the bath shower in the en-suite bathroom
We had an amazing time, the staff were all friendly, easy to book gym and swimming. (The games room was locked up much earlier than advertised though).
The lodge was perfectly comfortable and clean. The layout was amazing and we loved it. Not a bad word to say about it. We would definitely be back if travelling down south again. It didn't affect us, but the hills are very steep. Easy to navigate though.

Thank you Becky for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry to hear the games room was closed early, this is run by the lesuire company and we have no say in opening hours.
Really lovely place and great location but sadly the water pressure was shocking to the point I would turn taps on and literally nothing would come out at times, not even a dribble. Didn't bother the hosts at the time as we were only staying a long weekend and figured over a bank holiday there was little they could do anyway, plus there is clearly a history of water pressure issues as there is a big sign in the welcome pack, saying that it drops at peak times and there's nothing they can do about it. However, as this occurred on and off throughout our whole stay and not just at peak times, I did inform the hosts before we left. The email I had back was both defensive and dismissive with not a single apology and was just angry I hadn't informed them sooner. Will definitely come back to the area as the Tamar valley region is beautiful but will not be staying at this lodge nor recommending it to others.
Really enjoyed our stay at this Alpine lodge situated in lovely wooded park with stream flowing by. Nice indoor and outdoor pools, short but steep hills to get to small pub/clubroom and some kids games out of use but I hope this is temporary! Would recommend this to families who are happy to travel to a beach.
Nice, clean lodge in a quiet location on the site. Had everything we needed. Internet was a bit intermittent but didn't really affect our stay. We weren't too impressed with the on site pub restaurant but the tennis courts and swimming pool were a hit with the kids and all the staff we spoke to were very friendly
We traveled with our son and 3 grandchildren. There was plenty of room for everyone. The beds are VERY comfortable. The kitchen is more than adequate and the reception desk (open til 5pm) has necessary groceries. Bev was wonderful communicating with me even though it was a very last minute reservation. Nice walks in the area. The kids enjoyed the pool and the small playground, the games and books provided - (ages 5, 7 & 9). FYI, be sure 'avoid tolls' is NOT clicked on your GPS. The journey from Plymouth will be LONG and stressful! (we should have just followed Bev's instructions...!!) But once we got there, it was VERY relaxing and enjoyable! We will definitely go again!
Lodge like a hone from home. Good location for both Devon/cornwall. Staff very pleasant we all enjoyed our stay except for the weather. Only issues we had was the location of the lodge to the amenities as it was a steep hill for my 88 yr old mum we had to drive her up. Given out weather a laundry room with dryer would have been good

Had a great time.
Facilities were great, plenty of room and very comfortable. Downstairs was a bit damp and mattresses a little old but didn't impact on our stay. Very well equipped.

Glad to hear you had a lovely time. Sorry to hear you felt downstairs was a bit damp. The lodges are colder downstairs and needs the heaters to be put on low to warm the air..

Excellent lodge and resort
Very clean and tidy, perfect for families as Bev provided everything we needed including a travel cot, stair gate and highchair. Property is as pictured with two decent size rooms and a smaller twin room. The site had all the amenities required to make a fantastic holiday. We would recommend for families and we would definitely return.

Would recommend this property for a holiday
The lodge was well equipped and clean. We used the gym and the two pools nearly every day. It’s situated in a lovely setting with trees and a small stream running past the lodge. We visited morwellham working village and cotehele national trust which were good days out. We took a train from Gunnislake station into Plymouth which was a pleasant ride with beautiful views of the countryside, had a boat ride around the harbour.
We enjoyed our stay.

About the host
Hosted by Bev
Hi we are Bev and Ian We hope you enjoy our holiday home at St Ann's Chapel. which is our 3rd holiday home. We got our first holiday home after we went on holiday to Millendreath Nr Looe Cornwall in 2012 and fell in love with the place with its beach and lovely walks. It was also an ideal base for us to visit the rest of Cornwall. We went back a couple of times and decided to see if we could buy one of the Villas. After remortgaging our house we bought one in April 2013 and named it "Seanicview". In May 2013 we decided to let the villa so we could help pay for the windows. We where completely booked in weeks. We decide to buy another holiday home after Bev semi retired in September 2015. We enjoy letting the holiday homes and talking to the many clients we have over the last 4 years and hope many people will enjoy there holidays in the lodge.
Why they chose this property
We came across this holiday village by chance while looking for a second property. We immediately fell in love with the site. It is very peaceful but has a lively center around the bar/restaurant and pools. The lodge had a lovely quirkiness about it as well as being very roomy.
What makes this property unique
The alpine styling and large balcony, three bedrooms and two bathrooms make this an ideal family holiday location. Its central location makes it an ideal base for exploring both Cornwall and Devon. We have other 2 and 3 bedroom lodge onsite, we found it so relaxing. Our daughter and her partner have a lodge.. So we are able to offer for bigger groups .
