Exquisite Renovated Flat With Lots Of History At The Core Of Barcelona 3 BR 3BTH
The apartment is located at the core of Barcelona. Just crossing the Trafalgar Street you will be at the Born Quarter (the nicest and trendiest area of the Old Town). The most important sightseeing’s of Barcelona are steps away.
This nice apartment its just one minute on foot to the famous Palau de la Musica Catalana (Art Nouveau Catalan music Palace) and the central Plaza Catalunya. Just 2 minutes on foot to the Cathedral and the Santa Caterina Organic market where you can get fresh groceries or to the Paseo de Gracia where the Gaudi houses are located (Casa Batllo and Pedrera). Five minutes on foot to Santa Maria del Mar, Picasso Museum or Las Ramblas (where you can find the Boqueria Market the Liceo opera house and Palau Guell). Just 7 minutes to the Old Harbor of Barcelona.
The apartment has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with a nice living room. However it can be configured as a 2 bedroom 3 bathroom (in that configuration each bedroom will have its own private lounge area with sofa and TV).
A very sensitive architect has refurbished this luxury apartment to the highest quality. Its solid wood floors, the amazing design bathrooms, the restored antique XIX century furniture, exposed beams and brick walls. We have refurbished this apartment as the most luxury senior suite of a five star Hotel. Nothing has been left apart. We kept the nice architectonical features such as high ceilings, exposed wood beams and stonewalls this makes this apartment very special. It has a full kitchen with a central island and a table that seats 6 to 8 people. We can organize a chef to cook your meals on request. If you are cooking at the flat you will find all the utensils and appliances to cook as a chef.
Each of the 3 three bedroom has its own design bathroom with wide and big showers and nice washing hands basin cabinets. There are details such as the magnetic glass that we install at one of the showers (by pressing a button you can change the glass from transparent to opaque). We took care of the quality and comfort at this apartment. All beds have memory foam mattresses and high quality bed linens (made of Percale cotton). We offer Chortex premium quality Towels from England.
Two bedrooms have queen size beds and the other bedroom has a very high quality memory foam sofa bed (queen size). There is additional sleeping space at the memory foam sofa bed at the living room.
The flat has an outdoor balcony with a table and chairs to seat outside.
The flat sits on the third floor of an Art Nouveau building with an elevator serving the apartment.
This apartment will make the difference on your stay in Barcelona. I transformed one sentence I once red at The Raffles Hotel in Singapore: “While at Vintage apartment, why not visit Barcelona?”

Wonderful stay! Miguel and his family are wonderful hosts, going out of their way to provide a comfortable experience for our family. The Apartment is beautiful and as depicted. Amazing location that is walking distance to many sites.

Superb location and excellent hosts.
Perfect location for most of the main sights. Only took taxis to Park Guell and La Sangrada Familia. Although public transport would have sufficed taxis are cheap and plentiful (Mid-September). The apartment is light, very clean and comfortable. Only missing a kettle! Some nice touches; the transparent/opaque shower screen was fun; the fibre-optic lights (a little too low though and only one set worked); Modern lights everywhere including the skirting. Didn't have any problems with street noise in the master bedroom but the people upstairs were a little loud at times. Entrance and stairs to the apartments was being refurbished when we were there so some noise and dust from this.
Main criticism would be the partial opaque glass in the second, blue, bedroom and it's bathroom. The bedroom because the light in the kitchen shines into it and the bathroom because anyone passing from the third bedroom to the kitchen can see into the shower.
Miguel answered all queries immediately and arranged (and re-arranged at short notice) a taxi for us from/to the airport. Poor Eddie had to wait till 23:30 for us after a flight cancellation and a delay on a later flight. He still had time to explain the working of the apartment and tell us where to find a supermarket and the metro. He also provided another set of sheets and duvet when it was realised that the second couple were not partners but brother and sister. We probably should have mentioned that before we arrived!
Do eat at the Cuines Santa Catarin, recommended by Miguel. The first evening we ate in the main restaurant and the food was very good. We also had tapas there for lunch the next day and for an evening meal on another day. The food and the service was excellent with the menu in several languages.
Would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to others. Ideally suited to two couples or two couples and 2 younger children.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderfully located apartment. Miguel and Tony were very accommodating and welcomed us on our arrival with a well stocked place. They also helped us navigate a mobility scooter delivery. The beds were very comfortable.
Gracias!
We stayed here with a group while sight seeing and seeing music. We were a group of 6 total and had plenty of space to relax, shower and drink wine after long days of sight seeing. The location is truly perfect. You are 1/2 a block from the metro and 5 mins from Plaça Catalunya. The place is beautiful, and somehow even better than pictured. Would be absolutely perfect for 3 couples, a family or a group of friends. Could fit 8 but it would be a friendly squeeze.
Would definitely stay again!
This is a fun renovation and large apartment that easily accommodated us and three grown children. I appreciated some of the historic details that were maintained in the apartment. The place was comfortable and easily accessible to all of the fun and beauty of Barcelona. We also took a tour offered by the owner to Montserrat and he was a very good guide for us. He also offered a few restaurant recommendations that helped us tremendously.
I would stay here again!
What a great apartment. The location was perfect for walking through the Born Quarter and only a few blocks from Playa Catalunya and La Rambla. Santa Caterina Market and the Picasso Museum were a 10 minute walk. Eddie was great. He was very helpful with tips on public transportation and restaurants. He took us to Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey and then to the coast. Later in the week he took us to the Dali Museum in Figueres and then to the Dali House Museum in Cadaques with lunch on the water. Our Dali tour was definitely a trip highlight.
As for the apartment, there were noisy neighbors above (as noted in other reviews). The combination washer-dryer came in handy. A nice supermarket was across the street. There were Metro and bus stops on our corner. We used the bus to get to Sagrada Familia with Eddie’s help. It was an easy trip.
Our family of 5 enjoyed staying at this property in the heart of Barcelona for 4 days in July 2019. Eddie welcomed us with water, wine and fruit and gave good recommendations on what to see in the area, and how to get around with public transportation. The property is located centrally such that you can walk to almost anywhere in the downtown area. We actually walked all the way down to the beach neighborhood of Barceloneta, which looks far on the map, but took less than 30 minutes.
Our favorite neighborhoods were the nearby Gothic and El Born areas, which have so much history, architecture, and outstanding food. The flat has very good air conditioning for hot summer days, and was quite spacious for our family of 5. Highly recommended for a home base in Barcelona for groups or families of 4 to 6 people!
This apartment is in a very nice building in a great location for walking. The owners were great to work with and very attentive. We had an outage and Eddy brought someone to change the breaker right away. This is an unusual apartment design with some interesting elements but some are not so comfortable.
The master bedroom has the bathroom in the bedroom, and there is almost no room to move around the bed when doors are open or even closed. The second bedroom layout is much more comfortable with bath in the hallway. There is plenty of space in the apartment, we were 4 people and one slept on the sofa bed which was very comfortable. Mattresses are soft, memory foam. Air conditioning does not reach master bedroom enough so that is the warmest room. I though the ad said washer and dryer, but there is no dryer, just a clothesline. We were there in July , so plenty of sun to dry our clothes. Kitchen is also an unusual design, not really comfortable to cook with several people although it is large enough. If you are truly 6-8 people the kitchen is a stretch to eat in. Very tight moving around the corners as in the bedroom. Sleeping there has plenty of room, unusual for an apartment in Europe, and you can tell that the owners care about the finishes and the apartment, and they were great to work with. We did not take any tours with them but they offer many. Lastly as it is an old building we heard the upstairs neighbors a lot, mostly getting ready for work. If you want to sleep in, and are a light sleeper, sleep in the back bedroom not the master. I am kind of picky, and a light sleeper, so this is why I gave the apartment 4 stars instead of 5.
Eddie was waiting for us at arrival and we loved the flat. The beds were all extremely comfortable. We were looking for a unit that was fully air-conditioned, and it was perfect. The location made getting to everything so easy and there were some fantastic restaurants just around the corner. The full grocery store across the street was so convenient. We also decided to book a tour with Eddie while we were there and were so happy with our choice. That ended up being our favorite day of the trip for everyone, ages 5-46. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
The apartment was in a great location for wandering around El Born and hitting some of the major sites. It was comfortable, clean and the manager was extremely responsive. The two rear bedrooms were particularly quiet (blaconies opened onto the inner courtyard). We would stay here again.
Our family of 4 adults and 2 teens loved the location and accommodations. Although the Metro was steps away, we chose to walk to everything, including the beach, La Rambla, Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, and used the metro only for Montjuic. The owner recommended a foodie tour with Regina, a highlight of our stay. The only negative with the apartment was a nonfunctioning shower broken by the previous guest, leaving 2 showers and causing some logistics issues. Would stay here again!

OK but could be much better
The Good:
The contact person was at the apt to greet us.
Good central location (but noisy-see below)
Near a metro station.
Pretty clean, but some notable exceptions to cleanliness.
Everything we needed to cook meals was there, like pots, pans, dishes, etc.
The owner left a fruit bowl, bottle of wine, and large bottle of water for us.
The door between the shower and the kitchen is interesting.
There was sufficient storage spaces.
The washing machine did not work, but they replaced it within 2 days after we notified them.
The Not So Good:
On a noisy street, which means traffic noise all night long in the front master bedroom. The back bedroom was quiet.
There was a suspicious loud gurgling noise in a drain in the kitchen area whenever you use the shower or toilet. Not sure what that was but it is unsettling.
The sofa and chair in the living room could use a cleaning.
The Ridiculous:
The lighting in the master bedroom is preposterous. No bedside reading lamps. There is a very large, heavy, dusty light fixture hanging over the middle of the bed suspended from the ceiling on 3 small wires. It is directly in your eyes when are in bed. We were concerned it could drop on us. One should never hang heavy objects over the bed.
The lighting over the sink in the master bedroom consists of 2 clear bare bulbs hung from the ceiling. Very painful to look at so we could not use them either, making the lighting insufficient. I suppose the room designer thought it looked cool, but it was stupid. Ladies, don’t expect to do your makeup in here.
There is an air filter/light over the range which we banged our heads on every time we cooked. It is a silly looking thing larger than a toaster over with protruding edges, right at forehead height over the main burner. All it did was move the heat or fumes up about 8 inches higher and then release them back into the room. Didn’t make sense and was a real nuisance to move around the thing to minimize head banging.
The master bathroom was actually part of the bedroom, not in a separate room. The shower was enclosed in clear glass which offered zero privacy if there was another person in the bedroom. The toilet was at least enclosed in frosted glass, but did not extend to the ceiling so your room mate could hear all your business.

Beautiful flat in excellent location
Miguel & Eddie were very helpful & easy to communicate with. The apartment is spacious, beautifully decorated & location can't be beat. We were close to everything- tourist sights, grocery stores, restaurants, bars....They left a bottle of wine & fresh fruit which is a nice touch. Having a washer & dryer was very helpful. Beds were comfortable.
The only issues we had were noise from the neighbor above who stomps around making insane noise at all hours -which effected our sleep. Also after arrival we saw a note in the bathrooms asking us to not put any toilet paper in the toilet but to put it in trash bags. I guess the plumbing is old & they're concerned about things getting clogged.

Comfortable Stay & Great Location
When I was searching for a rental in Barcelona, some of the parameters given to me by my friends were the following: a place with character, enough rooms to sleep 5 people, and a good central location. This place definitely met all those things. Not only did it have 3 bedrooms that slept 5 of us comfortably but more importantly, the place has 3 showers! It helps a lot when 5 ladies need to get ready! One of the bedrooms even has a Tempur-Pedic type of bed so I felt like I was sleeping in my own bed back home. We truly enjoyed all the amenities the place had to offer: there was a small grocery store just across the street and several other mini-markets a couple of doors down--this made it so much easier for us to grab drinks, food for breakfast, and snacks. It was also a great location--close proximity to majority of the must-see and -do in Barcelona, and restaurants too. And if you must take the bus or Metro to some destinations, the Metro station and bus stops are just around the corner from the place.
Eddie was a great host. Eddie gave us information on how to purchase a bus/Metro card and also recommended a restaurant by the sea, Restaurante Salamanca, and helped us make dinner reservations there too.
We also arranged our airport transportation with them and it was definitely worth it because the taxi strike was going on when we arrived in Barcelona a couple of weeks ago. We also did the Old Town and Art Nouveau walking tours with Miguel and he did a great job of showing us the highlights in Barcelona and giving us historical information on all of them.
Our group definitely enjoyed our 5-night stay here and would recommend to others. Our stay here helped with making our Barcelona trip more memorable.

Good customer service
Compared to many other places we stayed, customer service is very good: Eddie (property manager) met us on arrival, showed the apartment, and presented us with a complimentary bottle of wine and some fruit - very nice touch.
We had an issue with air-conditioning unit not working in the living area and one of the bedrooms. Eddie replied to my call immediately and called the technician. It took the technician two days to show up but it's a high season for a/c repairs in Spain.
The apartment itself is very nicely decorated and located one block from a metro station. From a practical point of view, the place is not very convenient: I mean it looks beautiful to have glass doors to the bathrooms and toilets but it may not be very practical when you travel together. In one bedroom a semi-see-through shower and toilet are right in the bedroom with no wall in between: looks nice but was a bit odd.
Overall, we had a good experience and Edie was nice and very considerate.

Great stay
This flat was wonderful for our family of 4(4 adults). The master bedroom is separate from the other areas which is wonderful for privacy. The kitchen is well equipped and my grown children said the bed and pull out sofa were very comfortable. We were able to do laundry and hang it to dry on the cloths line out side off the balcony at the back of the apartment. It is exactly as pictured and very spacious. A couple of things to be aware of; the unit has two air conditioners. The back bedrooms are on one and the rest of the apartment on the other. I found that I would have liked to be able to turn down the air more at night(thermostat is set not to go to low) since I like to sleep with cooler air. I understand the need to conserve energy, but I shower at night and the shower is actually in the master bedroom therefore; it can get a bit warm. This is not a deal breaker so do not hesitate to rent. The staff was very professional and we were greeted with fruit and a lovely bottle or red wine. Enjoy!!!

Beautiful Property in Barcelona
This home is just as wonderful as it is described! The architectural elements of the flat were thought out so carefully....marrying the old and new. Our family of five felt like we were living on a street in Paris instead of Barcelona with the tree lined street and beautiful balconies. The location was PERFECT for walking to so many special places in Barcelona-we barely used a cab. Eddie met us at the flat, explained how everything worked and then walked us around and pointed out the grocery stores (right by the flat) and other great restaurants nearby. We felt very safe in our little neighborhood! I would highly recommend staying here! Thank you Eddie for being such a great host to our family!
