The property is lovely and the quiet beach is fabulous! The sunrises as well as the sunsets are amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only surprise was the quadruplex right behind the beach house. We’d do it again!

2 adults, 3 teens, and 2 small dogs had a wonderful week at the beach. Very clean with great furnishings. The beach was right out the back door and basically deserted. Will be back!
The whole process of renting this property was very easy and the property was even better than we expected it to be. The view from the house was incredible and the beach was steps from the deck. The beach is clean and secluded. Our family had a great week and would definitely choose this property again.
Thank you Cindy!

We had four adults, two teens, and three children and some dogs. Everyone fit easily, and we were really comfortable. It was clean and felt safe. The main room is really comfortable for the whole group, and sometimes the kids went downstairs to watch tv. The wifi was ok, not stellar. The beach is really private feeling and the ocean is gentle and great for floating. We had inner tubes and floated a lot. It's a really solid location and beachfront. The kitchen is great and the views are terrific.

Beautiful and Relaxing beach house!!
The agent and property manger are very nice and accommodating!I wanted to take the view home with me!Very clean and quiet place to relax and regroup!My husband and I plan to visit again, hopefully soon!Please, do not let curb appeal bother you! Once you walk around to the beach property, you are in paradise!Norfolk is Norfolk, remember, its a military town!Take pride in the fact you are vacationing in the town with the largest navel base! I should know, this was once my home, because I too am married to a sailor/submarine. I totally recommend a stay!! Thanks,Bonnie and Cindy

Liked: Check-in, communication
Disliked: Cleanliness
wish we had gone elsewhere
Positives: on the bay and A/C worked great.
Negatives:
Kayak were unusable. Fortunately, the property managers were able to replace the first morning.
The apartment was dirty. The rug wasn’t vacuumed. The vacuum worked sporadically. The bathroom was dirty. It looked as if someone had been shaving at the sink. The front base of the toilet had old, dried urine on it. The floor at the bottom of the toilet was disgusting, including an old, discarded q-tip (We have pics of this, as well as almost all of the problems described in this review.)
Biggest problem was that the kitchen plumbing was partially clogged. A plumber was sent but after hours of work was unable to fix the clog. During our 3-night stay, on at least 4 or 5 occasions we were forced to bail out the dishwasher if we didn’t want it to overflow into the kitchen and for us to have to clean up the flooded kitchen again.
The grossest thing of all was that the backyard was basically a large restroom for dogs. I have a video almost 2 minutes long that shows the dozens, and dozens, and dozens of dog poop all over the back yard.
Also
-Teflon frying pans need replacement;
-Shower curtain that needed replacement;
-Ants all over the kitchen;
-Patio furniture is old and doesn’t and doesn’t look remotely close to pics on VRBO.
All around, very disappointing. One of the worst rentals we’ve stayed at. Unless you want to be on the beach and ignore all of these problems, I would recommend you go elsewhere.

Great views, responsive owner/manager
We stayed here three nights. You can’t beat this home for location and view. It is nicely updated with stylish and comfortable furnishings in the living room. There are great towels in the bathroom, and the owner let us use one of the apartments behind the home because the lower level was not yet available. It was unusually warm for Early April and the owner was very responsive to putting in the a/c units in the back apartment which was warm and smoky yet had no window screens and the windows would not stay open to air out and cool the place. The main house had ceiling fans in all rooms as well as air conditioning so it was very comfortable at all times. There is a side deck and a deck off the kitchen. Unfortunately, the deck furniture off the kitchen was past due for replacement and was not safe to use so we did use that deck (my son in law tried and learned the hard way when one of the chair supports broke as he sat down due to the rust). We brought this to the owners attention and she said it would be addressed. The side deck is where we spent most of our day, and that was LOVELY and there were extra plastic Adirondack chairs. We could not get the stovetop to light and the manager let us know that for safety, the igniter does not work so you must use a match. In that case, it would be good to share those instructions on site and provide a lighter. It worked just fine when we got a lighter. Other than the deck furtniture, the only other issue we had was the bed in the back right room, which is overdue for replacement and will not work for two people (you will both roll into the middle rather steeply) so I just shared the room with twin beds with my son....not ideal but at least we had an extra bed. For planning purposes, be aware that there are only 5 chairs for the dining table, and no extra supplies, so come with any spices, toilet paper, garbage bags, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, extra dish towels (there is one), etc. The house only has what you need to get started. This house would have earned 5 stars if it were better equipped with basic supplies (wine glasses - we only had one big and one small - kitchen towels, garbage bags, etc), and had an acceptable mattress in that bedroom and safe deck furniture. Not perfect, but you will enjoy the home!

Thanks for your review! As the first "seasonal" renter I do appreciate your input. We've replaced the furniture on the deck - didn't realize that the salt air had been so harsh this winter. Thanks again for staying with us!

Excellent location, you're basically on the beach. The house itself is a generally fine, but there are parts that are in need of repair - the stove doesn't light by itself, the carpet has some staples poking through, etc.
Very nice, clean place to stay to enjoy the ocean. You are literally steps from the beach where you can enjoy dolphin and crab sightings. The place is clean and adequate for my party of 6 in my immediate family plus my parents and our two dogs. Far enough away from public beach access to make it feel like you are on your own private beach! Close enough to restaurants and pier access to enjoy some of the nightlife.
This is our second time staying at the property and we were so happy both times. The house is perfect, right at the water with a perfect view. There is plenty of space and we love the privacy. We saw dolphins every morning and a pod of babies came as we were leaving. It rained two out of the three days that we were there but it didn’t matter. We stayed inside and played games and watched the boats go by. We’re very excited to go again, this one is definitely a winner!
Highly recommend. Cozy, with a single full bath in the main unit. Must climb decking stairs to access entry door.
BUT, expansive views from oceanfront property steps from a very uncrowded beach due to no nearby public parking. Clean and everything functioned great. Two very nice ocean kayaks made for some fun paddling on the bay.
Our stay was so awesome here. The house is perfect and the location could not be any better! Everything was wonderful and the owner was super responsive and not nosy at all! Life was great at this house and we will stay here again!
Wonderful!!! Great house on the water. Very clean and owner and manager were so helpful. Owner bought a TV for the bedroom the day we arrived when I let her know ad said there was a TV in the bedroom.
You can't beat walking out to your porch and the beach is RIGHT THERE!
The house is so nice, so clean, and we loved it.....when can we move in forever! We come to the virginia beach area every year, usually we stay in a hotel but this year we decided to rent a beach house. We loved it, had walmart deliver groceries, we cook breakfast each day but made sure to order some fresh seafood! We will definitely be back!!!
Lovely beach cottage. Not situated on the best street, but it doesn't matter once you get into the property. The cottage is set on the beach side of another building facing the beautiful ocean view in the pictures. You escape the street sounds and have a nice porch to sit on if its raining. There is direct beach access for a nice quiet beach. The house is clean and has all the necessities. Communicating and working with Cindy was easy and pleasant.
Our family stay at this property was magnificent...beautiful location, wonderful accommodations, and responsive property manager. Thank you, Cindy & Crew!
The owner and manager of the property were both very attentive and responsive to our needs. The property was well maintained and suited our needs to a tee.
Our family stay at this location was tremendous. The location is right on the beach, easy access to everything and the communication with the property management was timely.
Great experience.

Nice Place
The property has an amazing view. It only has one bathroom and there is limited lighting at night outside which is a safety concern.

Why they chose this property
DIrect beachfront! We have a unique beach. It is about 9 miles long but there is only one section that has public parking. That makes the beach nice and open. There are rarely any crowds. You can see dolphins, eagles, Navy ships, sailboats, cargo ships, fish, shells. Come visit!
