This Alfama property is full of character and is in an excellent location. The accommodations were clean, well equipped and comfortable. The stairway to the upstairs bedrooms was a bit small (careful with big luggage or big feet) but it added to the charm and authenticity of the property. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Our stay here was perfect. The apartment is rustic and beautiful, giving the charm of old town Alfama. It was plenty spacious for our family as well. The location is perfect, near plenty of restaurants and walking distance to many sights. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfectly located to so many sights, restaurants and shopping. Located in an old section of Lisboa. Easy to get around. Place has old world charm but be aware, some bedrooms have no windows and top floor has very low ceilings. My 2 adult sons would hit their heads easily. We nevertheless enjoyed our stay! Thank you.

The flat is situated in an amazing area and our stay was awesome. However, the upstairs room has some terrible water damage right above one of the beds and is emanating a strong mold smell. We also encountered 3 cockroaches in the apartment. When we brought this health hazard up with the host, they never responded.

Paula was very helpful and responded to messages quickly. The pictures on the website were polished with the help of AI.The bathrooms were very small and the bedrooms were tight. Luckily we had a spare bedroom to put our belongings in. The ceiling on the top floor was VERY LOW, my husband is 6'2" and had to bend his head.The location was convenient and accessible via walking. There were roaches in the outside hall and we did see some in the apartment. They did spray for them, but the damage was done.

We would like to clarify that all photographs in the listing are genuine photographs of the apartment taken by a professional photographer. While images may be professionally edited for lighting and presentation, they accurately represent the property, its layout, and its features. The apartment is located in a historic Lisbon building, and the room dimensions, number of bathrooms, and other characteristics are reflected in the listing description. As is common in some traditional buildings, certain areas on the upper floor have lower ceiling heights, which may be less comfortable for taller guests. Regarding the cockroaches, unfortunately this can occasionally occur in Lisbon during the warmer months, particularly in historic neighborhoods close to the river. We maintain a regular pest-control program and took immediate action as soon as the issue was reported. Despite preventive measures, insects can sometimes enter from the public drainage system or through open windows and doors.

The host who met us was very nice and informative about the apartment and areas to visit. The place was near to many shops, restaurants and places to see. It is a quiet area. It could use a couple small windows in the rooms for better airflow. A suggestion is maybe take a humidifier. Fans are available which were a big help. The dryer is not what know as a dryer in the states but it worked.

We had a wonderful stay in Lisbon! The location was fantastic—a 5 min walk from the metro, making it easy to explore every part of the city (although we enjoyed walking the hilly street). It was also conveniently close to markets, and being there during the Alfama festivities was such a memorable experience. The energy, music, and atmosphere right outside our door made our trip even more special.Communication with the host was excellent from start to finish. They kindly met us early to store our bags so we could enjoy the city while the apartment was being cleaned, which we really appreciated. The host who checked us in was amazing and immediately made us feel welcome. They provided fantastic recommendations for sightseeing, restaurants, and local experiences, which helped create a great first impression of Lisbon and set the tone for an incredible trip.As other reviewers have mentioned, the second-floor ceilings are low for taller guests. We were aware of this before booking, and honestly, we found it to be part of the apartment’s charm and character.Overall, we highly recommend this property and would happily stay here again!

Prior to our trip all of our questions were answered quickly and transportation from the airport was arranged in advance - a huge help to a group of 9 after an overnight flight! Carlos greeted us at the place for check-in and gave us an overview of the place and the area. We were in historic Alfama, giving us easy access to restaurants and transportation. We had a fabulous time and enjoyed the sleep accomodations for all. We would come here again.

Great location! Wonderful greeting from Carlos when we arrived!

We were very happy with our stay. We were fortunate enough to be able to check in early due to our early arrival. Carlos gave us some wonderful recommendations, especially his place for seafood! We had rainy weather, but having the washer, drying rack, and wonderful working heaters made our stay very enjoyable. The apartment had a lot of charm and was very unique. We would stay there again! Thanks for the great time!

This place is amazing! It is roomy and has so much charm, from the stone walls to the tiles. We appreciated having 3 bathrooms (with four women) and when it got hot, we just opened the windows and enjoyed the fresh air. I also loved having codes versus physical keys and the building was very safe/secure. Alfama is the best neighborhood and this is a great location within the neighborhood. Shops and restaurants and small markets were just around the corner and we ate dinner at local restaurants every night. Nuno checked us in and was so lovely, he gave us lots of recommendations and even sent me a follow up message on WhatsApp with more recommendations for food and shopping. I would stay here again and would recommend it!

Heaven in Alfama

One of the most unique places I've ever stayed, in one of the best areas of the city. I couldn't recommend this place enough. The we comfortable slept eight guests, but the place could accommodate more. Just a street away there are shops, restaraunts, bars, and more, but it still if far enough removed to be peaceful and serene. We made friends with several of the business owners nearby and listened to plenty of Fado. Would 100% stay again.

Great location, old town feel with all the upsides and downsides

Staying in Alfalma was great- access to everything. We did a day long bike ride with tour which was a highlight. The residence was very authentic- amazing design and architecture albeit a little small in terms of headroom for our American physiques- with 5 men at least 6 feet tall, the upstairs room and bathrooms are very tight. There was also a musty smell which I am sensitive to. Otherwise, the check on and response of the owners was excellent!

Convenient to cruise ships

Staying in the oldest part of the city has it’s perks: quaint local bakery, close to Santa Appallonia train /metro station and the delicious Italian Nona restaurant just outside. Corresponding with Property Managers is easy with text/what’s app and they leave a property book for check out procedures to make an early flight out of town. Appliances and decor a bit dated for 6 adults (4 of which have allergies). We enjoyed putting in our daily 10,000 steps walking the beautiful hills of Lisbon

Quirky and fun

We were a group of 4 adults. Loved the idea of having a comfortable home atmosphere in a historic home. This filled all the squares. We were able to walk immediately into the old area for restaurants and entertainment. Several grocery stores were literally around the corner. Paula was kind enough to get us in early as our flight arrived early morning. Huge help. Would strongly recommend this spot.

Not as big as it looks

Advertised for up to 10. We were 7 and it was really tight. The upstairs has very difficult access and we were asked to leave it very clean which we did. If rent is that expensive in Lisbon, I would vacation elsewhere next time.
