Ash - Luxury cottage with great views, with fishing, indoor pool & gym.

Our 2 bedroom Long Barn cottages have it all - high vaulted ceilings giving plenty of light. The latest in home entertainment systems, solid Oak flooring, beautifully crafted kitchen and delightfully furnished bedrooms. Ash matches a truly modern interior to a delightful country setting.

Long Barn cottages consist of just 3 cottages situated to one side of the Trehill Estate in Callington SE Cornwall. Your booking will be in one of the 2 identical two bedroom cottages.

Long Barn cottages share an indoor pool, with an Endless Pool current machine allowing you to swim for up to half an hour without ever touching the ends! The leisure facilities, located just feet from your front door, also include a well-equipped gym & hot tub.

Our two fishing ponds are a major attraction. These are private ponds with only guests being able to fish. This keeps them in great condition and means there are always plenty of spots available. Stocked fish include Carp, Mirror Carp and Tench. Top fish weight is about 17lbs

There is a double bedroom (king bed) and a twin with en-suite bathrooms. French windows give out onto the extra large deck with its own gas barbecue. Enjoy a cup of coffee as the morning sunlight streams


Trehill Estate - 4 acres of delightful rural retre: The three modern cottages called “Long Barns” are situated on the Trehill Estate in Callington, SE Cornwall.

The Trehill estate features two small groups of quite different but universally delightful cottages. Trehill is perfect for a spring or winter break. Heating is included and there is nothing better than a stroll around the grounds on a crisp and bright Cornish morning!

There is plenty to do at Trehill with two fishing ponds and games room. Additionally the three Long Barn Cottages have their own private health and leisure facilities just a few feet from your front door.

Superb holiday

Came for a short holiday because it had a pool and fishing. Very surprised at how nice it was inside and out. Fishing was good. If anything there are too many fish in the main pond, but the second one was a bit more challenging. Pool was very nice and enjoyed the swimming treadmill. Highly recommended

Wonderful place to stay

What a wonderful holiday cottage. Lovely location with great views. The interior of the cottage is really nice & warm (it was unseasonably cold during our stay). The owners were very helpful with restaurant suggestions and the pool with the swimming machine is just perfect. This is our second visit & we look forward to returning

Not luxury cottage at all.

The Beech cottage was not luxury at all.There was lot of cob webs around the walls and behind the furniture when we arrived.The squeaky floors and beds in both bedrooms very uncomfortable.Sofas in living room were terrible.We both ending to have a back ache after sitting on them for couple of hours.The toilet cover missing on one of the toilets and the other toilet was not working because of the broken flushing system on it for the whole stay and was not fixed by the owner.Gym is very basic.Just treadmill stepper and bike.Pool was nice.Outside space was nice.We were very dissapointed with cottage and we left one day earlier than we should.Never again.

Dear guest we are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at the cottage. However we do feel that some elements of your review were slightly misleading. The gym is as described in our listing & while that maybe was not what you were looking for, maybe you should have read the details more carefully before booking. Most guests feel that the equipment levels are extremely high for such a small place. You reported the broken toilet on a Sunday & our maintenance man was round within an hour. Unfortunately it needed a new part, which arrived Tuesday morning and installed immediately. We really do not see what more could have been done. With regard to your comments re the furniture, we have to say that we are mystified. The floors do not squeak, the beds are solid wood & very expensive one with memory foam mattresses. We accept that some like soft beds & some otherwise. If you change your mind we would love to have you back. We are sure that you will come away with a different outlook!

Lovely location

We enjoyed our break in this lovely cottage. The location is perfect. Easy access to good roads, lovely views, plenty to do on site. Just a lovely place to stay. The pool is really nice & we couldn't have asked for more in terms of the cottage. We too my mother who is now in a wheelchair & the owners were very helpful. The cottage does not have any mobility aids, but the wet room was perfect when combined with a simple plastic garden chair. Thanks Frances! Would definitely recommend.

Luxury home away from home

We were a family of four and stayed for a week in July. The cottage was fantastic each morning having breakfast sat outside as the weather was great. We used the gym everyday, we used the swimming pool & machine at less twice a day. The lakes are full of fish to the delight of my son and husband theh enjoyed the fishing we also visited quite a few places around Cornwall most places were under a 30 minute drive away wnich was great. The owners are such a lovely couple nothing was ever too much for them. Anyone who just want peace and quiet this is the place for you. Anyone with teenagers you will pleased to know the Wfi was good ..Thank you so much for a fantastic holiday

great holiday top facilities

Had a really great time here. Cottage is lovely & modern - really well furnished. Grounds are beautiful with the lakes & the grassy spaces. Really loved the indoor pool & swimming machine. Have never used an endless pool before, but now I want one! Didn't use the gym but it seemed to have all the gear - free weights, treadmill, rowing machine & bike. Will definitely come back & might try a session with their Olympic coach!

Torn between praise or keeping a secret bolt hole!

Lovely setting, good facilities, clean with very comfortable beds and quality bed linen. Great for children as had safe play area on site though weather permitting so unfortunately less opportunity to spend time in the grounds during wet weather which would have kept the children entertained. Car essential but approx 20-30mins drive in various directions to various attractions, towns and beaches so not a problem. Owners very helpful and friendly.

Great family break

We rented Beech cottage with its larger next door neighbour Hawthorn (see other review) for a post New Year's break. My parents stayed in Beech and they had a lovely time. The cottage was extra warm which was brilliant for her at her age. There are no steps & the walk in wet room was very useful. This is a really nice small cottage & although they didn't use the pool or gym, we did. Great stay would highly recommend. Views of lake from front are lovely!

Lovely setting & loved indoor pool & hot tub

Stayed here over New years & it was great for family. Pool is small but the swimming machine was great. Liked the fact that we could just dash from our front door to pool. There was also a gym which looked nice (we didnt use it). Grounds are nice & the games room had a lot to do. Cottage itself was excellent. Good qualoty furniture & wifi too. Just doing this review as we book for summer
