This is the third time we have stayed here, and it was the best time yet. Jerry is very quick to respond if we need something. The view is absolutely amazing to where you can just spend the day on the patio if there was not so many things to do in San Clemente. It is great to have a driveway to park in because street parking is very sparse. Had our 90-year-old mother with us so not having to negotiate stairs was a plus.

The property could benefit from updates of furnishings, one of the bathrooms, cabinetry, etc. The location is excellent and the view of the ocean and pier about as good as one can get in the area

laid back vacation stay

Just what we wanted - close to the San Clemente Pier with gorgeous view from the deck and easy access to everything we wanted. Owner very personable, not a sterile, bland hotel-like environment.

It's good for me to know that I was a partial positive influence on your family adventure at the Ohana festival. Please contact me if you prefer, to assure availability for next year. Texas is fine unless you prefer online.

The location of the property cannot get any better especially for people who cannot drive like myself being 5 mins walk away from the beach and 10 mins walk away from the main shopping area. It’s a comfortable apartment with panoramic views. The check-in was super easy and the host Jerry was very friendly and responsive.

The balcony overlooking the town and the ocean was the star of our stay! Apartment was spacious and clean. We appreciated the fresh flowers! Great location. Easy to walk to the Pier and the beach. Would stay there again.

The view was absolutely amazing and honestly the main reason I would consider staying here again. Waking up to that scenery made the trip really special.Unfortunately, there were several issues with the property itself. The place was not very clean upon arrival, which was disappointing. There also wasn’t a kitchen towel in the kitchen, which would have been helpful. In addition, the listing was inaccurate in a few ways — the posting and pictures showed a twin bed, but there was no twin bed at the property. The listing also advertised a fireplace, but there was no fireplace either.Overall, the view saved the experience, but I do think the listing details and cleanliness need improvement so future guests know exactly what to expect.

Excellent Location and amazing views. Some minor design flaws in the master bedroom. Our family had an amazing time in the area and this was a great, affordable meeting place.

The place was in a great location with an spectacular view. However, it was very dirty upon arrival. We found food and plates under the couches in the living room, and the toilet was extremely dirty. It honestly didn’t look like the place had been cleaned before we checked in. The location and view were great, but the cleanliness definitely needs major improvement.

The Surfview Top of the World owner is a past San Clemente Veteran of Foreign Wars commander and current Service Officer. He is an active volunteer in the community as a certified EMT, Neighborhood watchperson, Senior Center volunteer, and former Boy Scouts of America adult leader. He is a member of the San Clemente Downtown Business Association, Chamber of Commerce, and the San Clemente Men's golf association. Jerry Quinlan is not an expert surfer, though, he can be found kayaking regularly around Seal Rock, to the south, or, every so often, swimming around the pier. He can be recognized on photo #16, with his daughter, Elizabeth, on the top deck at the 'TOP OF THE WORLD' SURFVIEW PENTHOUSE.

Why they chose this property

'Top of the World' is like a pressbox in a sports stadium; looking from a most exceptional and unique view down over the pier, beach, harbor, and Islands on the horizon. A short two hundred twenty yard walk down to the sand. The location is equally between Disneyland, Newport, Hollywood; and, San Diego Zoo, Seaworld, Legoland.

What makes this property unique

Overlooking EVERYTHING! - harbor, beach, waves, surfers, pier, and Islands. Three block walk into downtown Del Mar street in San Clemente; and, 220 yard walk down to the sand, waves, pier, and restaurants on the pier.
