Welcome to Southwind 905! This beautiful 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom direct oceanfront condo is the perfect beach escape for families or groups, comfortably sleeping up to 9 guests. The spacious Master Bedroom features a King bed, the second bedroom offers a Queen, and the third bedroom includes two Twins with trundles plus a rollaway bed—ideal for larger parties. Step out onto the private 9th-floor balcony for breathtaking panoramic ocean views, or unwind in the cozy living area after a sun-soaked day. Guests will enjoy access to high-speed internet, a seasonally heated oceanfront pool, tennis courts, and shuffleboard.

Please note: this unit requires a 7-night minimum stay and rents weekly in March from Saturday to Saturday.

The Southwind is a beloved 11-story oceanfront condominium located on the peaceful, non-driving portion of New Smyrna Beach. Known as “one of the best buildings on the beach,” the complex has recently undergone a $1 million renovation, including a state-of-the-art gated entry system. Guests can enjoy a seasonally heated pool, tennis and basketball courts, shuffleboard, and a beachfront sun deck with ample lounge seating. The 11th-floor penthouse recreation lounge offers billiards, card tables, a kitchen, and sweeping views of both the Atlantic Ocean and the Halifax River—perfect for watching sunrises and sunsets.

The Southwind is located on the south end of New Smyrna Beach. Great fishing, boating, and canoeing opportunities abound at Mosquito Lagoon and JB's Fish Camp, located near this complex. Bethune Beach is just south of here, and the car free beaches in front of The Southwind provide the perfect landscape for family sandcastle building, quiet walks, or carefree bike rides on the sand.

As a guest here, you'll have access to the complex's 11th floor penthouse recreation lounge which provides a great area for gatherings. This penthouse lounge has a kitchen, two billiard tables, card tables, and even a fireplace! From the roof deck, you can take in fantastic views of both the ocean and the Halifax River. Several problems, couches need replacing they sink when you sit down. Not very many glasses or silverware. Master bed fell off frame and the old wood squeaks terribly. When you roll over or get up it wakes up the other person. Air conditioning doesn’t shut off even on auto, you have to turn it up to get it to shut off for a minute then it gets hot!

Great view

This condo is beautifully decorated, well equipped, clean, and convenient. The beach and pool are right outside the door. The sand is very firm, making it excellent for walking and riding bikes.

We absolutely loved our stay in the condo and the complex! It was clean, spacious, had a beautiful view, and was quiet. Beautiful, spacious beach with very few crowds! We had 4 adults and 3 kids with plenty of space. Elevators were quick and we hardly ever waited. The roof top lounge/game room was excellent! We loved our stay and would be happy to stay again.

What a beautiful condo! We stayed here for spring break and the online pictures do not do this condo justice. It was the best equipped rental that we have ever stayed in! So clean and so beautifully decorated we felt like it was brand new. The beds are comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone. Great Ocean Condos was so renter friendly. We will definitely come back again and again!!

Southwind unit 905 New Smyrna Beach

This unit is very well maintained and has everything you need to enjoy your stay at the beach. The kitchen is well equipped to prepare meals, with plenty of dishes and glassware. They also supply beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards, and a closet full of games. It looks professionally decorated, hard to imagine its a rental, everything was neat and clean.

Great Location and a Really Nice Condo

We had a great trip. The check in process was the only hiccup. The code for the gate was incorrect in our information packet, The woman that answered the phone at the office seemed perturbed that we had bothered to call her, Also disappointing when check-in time is 30 minutes after the on site office closes, seems like there should be some overlap.

Week at the Beach

The property was wonderfully maintained and fully stocked with just about everything, even including a basket full of chips, cookies and water. It has a closet full of all the toys and equipment needed for a beach vacation. It is beautifully decorated and furnished with quality furniture and is in a prime location--- right on a beautiful beach and within the condo building on a high floor with a corner location. We are a 70 something couple who enjoyed our long beach walks. We invited our son-in-law and our 3 year old granddaughter to join us for part of our stay and had a delightful time. Five stars all the way.

Great property! Spacious kitchen and living area. Pool was refreshing! Beautiful updated decor in 2/3 bathrooms. Large closet with plenty of beach equipment. Balcony really nice with ability to to see pool. I loved the master bed and those PILLOWS! Firm but VERY comfortable. Some conflicting info in instructions and on fridge with what to do with keys after your stay. Overall 5 stars because was definitely one of our top condo rentals to date. What was really special…..condo owners enjoying their own property were really friendly and welcoming to renters. You don’t see that everywhere. Nice people!

Awesome view!

We stayed here for 2 weeks and loved it. There was a beautiful view from the living room, kitchen and master bedroom. Upon arrival we found the condo very clean, very well stocked from the kitchen to the towels, much better than most rentals. Furniture was nice and the walk-in shower in the master was huge. The complex is small, "30ish" units and located on the drive beach. We have stayed on both the drive and non-drive beach. The drive beach is nosier during the day but cars are cleared off the beach early in the evening so it is quiet in the evening when you are in the condo. We did not find the drive beach any more crowded than the non-drive beach. There are various parking areas for the building, this unit has a 1 car spot in a 2-car attached garage that opens into the building lobby and more parking in the parking lot. The exercise room was very nice. There is a pool and hot tub located on the back side of the condo building facing the ocean. We did find that there were no umbrellas, my guess, it’s a small building with no full-time staff on site to make sure they are put away during storms, etc. and that the pool and pool deck area start to become shaded due to the condo building blocking the sun about 1pm and the pool totally shaded by 3pm. Everyone owners and guests were very friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Family Get Away

My family and I spent a wonderful week in this condo at New Smyrna Beach. The rooms were decorated nice with plenty of room for 8 people. The beds were all very comfortable. Lots of nice extra touches such as snacks, water and coffee pods ready to use! The lady in the office was very nice when I needed an extra car pass. I’m considering renting it again next year.

Our 3rd visit to NSB and this property was the best! Spacious, clean, many updates, quality furniture, linens and kitchen items. A home that is loved for sure! Condo complex had great amenities, gated security, fast elevators.... 5 star for us!

Thank you for a great week. We rented this condo at a last minute change from our plans to stay in Key West. We were disappointed the house in Key West was destroyed but your condo changed our vacation from disappointed to excited. The condo was nicely decorated ,clean, and had everything. We used beach chairs ,boogie boards, beach towels, and of coarse the blender. The people were great to work with and came 3 times to fix a toilet that needed a part. We could see the sunset from the balcony and were up every morning for the beautiful sunrise. The view of the ocean was wonderful and even saw dolphins. I told my friends who are interested and I cant wait to come back. Thanks

The perfect beach get away

Stayed in this lovely unit for a week. It has everything you could want for a family vacation. The unit was well equipped, spacious and has a spectacular view. There were new beach chairs and boogie boards & the kids were very happy with their own space and bathroom. They even enjoyed playing with the board games that were there. The beds were very comfortable which sometimes can be a challenge when renting condos. Will definitely be planning on coming back next year. Thanks Great Ocean Condos for helping us find the perfect 3br/3ba condo for our family.

Amazing condo and vacation!

I stayed at this condo with family for a week and it was absolutely amazing. Everything is very new and you can tell the owners care very much about keeping things clean and simple for their guests. The view is phenomenal and the property itself is great, with a large lawn area, bbqs, large pool, tennis and shuffle board and even lounge chairs that overlook the sand/ocean. The condo itself is massive so we were very comfortable with a party of 6 (definitely can fit 9 like it's listed). Plenty of room for the kids to romp about and the dog too. I can't wait to come back and stay at this property again!!
