We wanted to be close to Gunstock Mountain. We only slept at the house because we were off sight seeing and visiting family. It was clean and the beds were comfortable.
This home worked out well for us, as we were trying out a new area for skiing and it was very close to Gunstock mountain. The hosts provided good information on where to go for amenities, restaurants and what to do in the area. The house was cozy, perfect for our family and dog to stay together!
House is comfortable, furnished well. Very nice firepit outside. We came up to ride motorcycles in this beautiful area, but there are a lot of other activities to do around here. We will definitely come back.
We enjoyed our stay. Lovely home and property. The only discrepancy I noticed from the listing is the central AC doesn't extend to the upstair bedrooms. Luckily we brought extra layers and slept extremely well.
Overall the visit was delightful.
The cabin was extremely clean, but the parking was rough. That’s the only thing negative about it. If you have more than one car the parking will be tough and it’s on a curve.
Visiting family and enjoyed our stay. Fireplace was nice.
Good points: very clean, great private back yard to woods, set up well with extras for guests.
Difficult points: mostly front of house, rotten front door porch boards, need railing for steps, MOSTLY need marker for where driveway ends as we almost drove off hill embankment.

Cute but not accessible - ZERO parking for more than 1 car
The description references "driveway parking for 3 cars"....this is far from the truth. There is a very small parking pad sitting directly on the road, barely big enough for a single car. You then have to climb down three very steep steps (without hand rails) to get to the front yard. After crossing a very bumpy front yard (with heavy suitcases in tow), you then must climb five steps onto the front porch. This was a HUGE issue for my 90 year old father who was forced to decline our dinner invitations because he could not access the home. Additionally this is a very dangerous situation when arriving in the dark, with little to no light to to see the three steep steps.
Although Sean (the owner) was very accessible, friendly, and timely with our requests, Evolve was not easy to deal with. They took several days to respond to inquiries and there is no one available to answer your calls.
The home is cute, very clean, and well equipped but the accessibility was a HUGE issue for my family. If the description had been correct online, I would not have rented this home.

Hi Julie, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and we wanted to share the following:
- Evolve, and the owner makes guest safety a top priority, and we always want guests to find the perfect vacation homes for their needs. We strive to include all necessary information in the listing and we've confirmed that the description states that the property might not be suitable for people with limited mobility due to the stairs. The listing photos also show the stairs, but we're sorry if this caught you off guard.
- The owner has confirmed that three cars have been parked in the driveway previously, and this is the first time they have received feedback like this. The owner will check to see if the shrubs need to be trimmed to ensure guests have plenty of space to park their vehicles.
- From us here at Evolve, we know how frustrating it is when you can’t reach someone during your stay, and we sincerely apologize that our communication fell short. We've addressed your feedback with the necessary teams here so we can continue to do better for our customers.
The owner does all they can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests!

Rustic and fine for couples
My husband and I stayed at this location in August with our 18m old. No issue with the home generally as we anticipated it being a bit rustic. However parts of our stay left us underwhelmed and bit frustrated. There were no bathroom linens and after contacting the management company I was directed to the homeowner who noted the cleaners forgot to return them, no solution was offered besides using a few beach towels we could locate. No hand or face towels were there, no bath mat and no toiletries were made available, notibly soap/body wash. The bathroom sink drain was stuck in the closed position and unable to drain. These were the most frustrating of the issues but there were additional things I otherwise would have overlooked but for the totality. The entrance to the home from the driveway was a very steep hill, difficult to navigate with luggage, sandals, a child etc. There was one coffee filter in the pantry, no paper towels or napkins to speak of, the hammock was dirty to an unusable state. Finally, the Roku TV didn't work leading us to assume batteries needed replacing in the remote which we didn't come prepared with. In all, staying here required a trip to Walmart for some necessities that were unexpected especially for the cost of the rental.
a rustic cabin would be fine despite the description not mentioning it being rustic and also promising linens, toiletries and some other basics we did not enjoy.
Overall needed much more upkeep from owners for the cost!!

Owner's response: "Nicole, we're very sorry to hear your experience did not live up to our normal high standards. We strive to keep all items in the home fully stocked for the convenience of our guests. - We spoke regarding the lack of bath towels, when we were talking you did not mention that there were no towels of any size available. We thought it was only the bath towels and you did mention that you would make due. We would have never expected you to only have those for your use. We have reached out to the housekeepers and have addressed this issue so it is not a problem in the future. - We do try and keep the soap and body wash stocked up, we were not aware we did not have enough. We will look into this. - We replaced the entire mechanism to stop a leak in the old faucet, we will check the drain and repair it if necessary. - The driveway was just redone and the stairs weren't in, but the hill was manageable, we were just there with our 2-year-old. We do apologize for this, the changes were done in an effort to make the driveway safer and more spacious but the contractor's schedule went long. The stairs are not in and the driveway is complete. - TheROKU worked for the guest after you with no issues. If you had let us know we could have told you where the spare batteries are kept in the house. - We try to keep coffee and filters stocked for our guests, despite this not being standard practice for short-term rentals. Perhaps you just didn't find them, again we would have been happy to share if you had reached out. - We are available to answer any questions or for assistance if needed. We are only a phone call away, we did not have any missed calls or messages from you. It's easier for us to help when you are on the property rather than after you've left. We hope you come and stay again in the future, and allow us to make up for any shortcomings this stay may have had. We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests. We will continue to strive for those 5-star experiences we know we can deliver."
We stayed over Thanksgiving so we were cooking quite a bit and the kitchens was well appointed. Great to have washer/dryer access and nice tv setup let us keep up with the World Cup! Happy to find a place that’s dog-friendly. Not the easiest place to walk a dog but if you have one that can be off leash or likes to be on a lead outside there’s a great yard for that. Wood burning stove kept things nice and warm.
The place great for my friends weekend. Well kept and in great shape with all the amenities of the lake a short drive away. Sean was also a great communicator and made the whole process and stay very easy. Definitely would recommend.
Our stay here was perfect! The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, they had everything that we needed during our stay. The kitchen was well stocked and they provided sheets and towels which was a huge plus. I had a few questions and the owners responded immediately. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here and would definitely recommend it!
We had a nice time at this property although the bathroom is very small the house was clean and plenty of space for our family. We skied 3 days and ate at the Ellacoya Barn which was yummy!!
We had such a relaxing and amazing weekend. Location was perfect house is beautifully decorated and no detail was overlooked. Sean was a very responsive owner, our only issue was parking and when contacted he was very proactive and helpful. One of our kids came to stay for the day we had to widen the driveway to fit another vehicle.
We stayed there for MLK weekend with our 3 children and our dog, and the house has everything we could ask for. It is beautiful, very cosy, perfectly clean and neat. The kitchen/ living room is warm and perfect for movie nights / game nights. The bedrooms have comfy beds with tons of blankets.
The location is just perfect, nestled in the wood, 5mins from Gunstock mountain.
we definitely recommend this place
Sweet cabin, easy check in process, great neighborhood and location for enjoying Meredith, Alton Bay, Guilford, Laconia area. Amazing backyard to enjoy outside of property. We would definitely consider staying again!
