Morningside a Private Secluded Rustic Seaside Cottage In The Village Of Corea
This is a rustic 2 bedroom/1 bath seaside cottage in the village of Corea it is a very remote setting where you can rest, relax, and rejuvenate a great place to escape from reality. Sit and relax on the shore in front of the cottage and watch the lobster boats hauling their traps or take a walk along the beach searching for shells and sea glass. The evening sky is great for star gazing or build a fire and toast some marshmallows. Our cottage is conveniently located only 6 miles from Winter Harbor where the entrance to the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park is, as well as the ferry service that goes to and from Bar Harbor. You will be tempted to spend your entire day at Morningside drinking in the magnificent view of the beach, ocean, islands and seabirds from the very comfortable living room couch but there is so much to see and do in and around Corea, arguably the most picturesque fishing village/harbor in all of Maine. The cottage is simple but so comfortable, with views from the living room and bedroom that are among the best on the Maine coast. The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you need if cooking is your thing. The hosts are great - real Mainers. In short, if you have an opportunity to book Morningside - jump on the opportunity as it is usually booked years in advance and for good reason - it’s the real deal. I cannot recommend it more highly.
Wonderful stay in a quaint cottage with views of the ocean. We already miss seeing and hearing the ocean from the house and making s'mores in the fire pit every night. Our kids loved playing on the large rocks and hiking to the island at low tide (from the beach path). Loved the quiet town and simple life after staying a few days in busier Bar Harbor beforehand. Would stay again!
The view was fantastic in this quaint, rural, rustic fishing village. All of the details were attended to and made for a great stay! Check in was simple, communication was clear and we truly enjoyed everything!
Great spot to get away. Clean, super cute, and my kids loved the sandy beach area. Excellent views both inside and out. Thumbs up from the whole family!
The place was very clean. It was easy to get to. Check in and out was really easy. The views here are stunning (especially the sunrise). It is right on the water. It was about an hour to the main entrance to Acadia National Park. They had a guest book with loads of helpful information on the area.
This is our family's third time staying at Morningside and we couldn't be happier with the property, location, and everything it provides. Melissa & Dan are awesome hosts, very responsive and easy to work with. We will definitely be back for years to come!
The cottage was better than anticipated- the photos don’t do it justice. It was in an excellent, quiet location and we had everything we needed for a comfortable few day stay exploring Acadia and the surrounding area and checking out the fall leaves. It was great to have ocean access to search for shells during low tide. Would stay here again!
Morningside Cottage was the perfect home base for our first visit to Maine. Our 5 and 7 year olds loved playing on the beach out back and the firepit. The cottage was immaculate and very well-stocked. We would definitely return!
Best cabin I ever had - direct to the ocean, well equipped. Wish we could stay there for longer…The owner prepared our stay with a lot of useful information and called back immediately when we had a question.
Pictures and details do not do the property justice! Quiet secluded beachfront property to yourself. Corea is just a village - nearby town of Birch Harbor has an decent mart in the gas station. Load up on groceries in Ellsworth. Highly suggest the Lobster tour in Corea, lovely 2 hr boat tour to lighthouse and to pull some Lobster pots.
This retreat was just what our small family needed. We wanted to be on the water and away from the crowds, for some much needed peace and quiet. Not only did Morningside Cottage fit the bill, it was well appointed, cozy, and the perfect space for us. There’s nothing like walking out the door to walk the beach, seeing the gentle water from the comfort of your bed, and feeling one with nature. A quick walk to a sandier beach provides hours of exploration as well. Our hosts were quick to reply, give info, and help as needed. Definitely hope to come back!
This was such a gem off the beaten path. Be sure to catch an amazing sunrise. If you are lucky you can see the deer that come to visit. The night sky is truly amazing. The cottage is comfy and well maintained. Melissa was extremely helpful. You wont go wrong with this property.
This is a special and gorgeous spot. A quiet corner of the Acadia area all to yourself. Close to unique and charming places to eat, explore, and discover. The surroundings are pristine. The cottage is perfect for a small family. A small beach right in front of the house provides the perfect natural playground. We want to go back! Thank you so much.
This was a wonderful weeklong rental experience for us. The cottage was situated in a quiet, lovely wooded area with a full view of and access to the ocean along with a grassy area perfect for kids to play outside. The owners clearly take very good care of everything. The cottage was clean, fully stocked and aesthetically pleasing. We had everything we needed for a fun, comfortable vacation exploring the coast of Maine!
The pictures don't do the place justice. It's about the perfect quiet little cabin retreat! A great section of beach right out the front door, and a cozy space inside with all the important ammeneties you need for a short or long stay. We fell asleep to the sounds of the waves lapping just feet away from our bed. Didn't hurt the weather was about perfect. We're already talking about when we would want to return.
We absolutely love this place! You should have heard us when we walked in after dark. Everyone was delighted! We were a little concerned about booking a rustic cabin because our family has mold allergies, but we had absolutely no problems. It smelled great and we all felt so good while we were there. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for such a wonderful cabin to stay in on the coast of Maine.
