About the host
Hosted by Rosalie Winchester
I am originally from Washington state. I grew up with memories white many Christmas Holidays, snow boats, rain jackets, umbrellas windbreakers, waiting in a few feet of snow for the school bus to come. I also remember picking grapes, apples, and pears and hoeing fields of find. Hoeing Mint was my favorite job. I remember smelling the aroma of mint filling the air as I hoed away at the weeds. One could always be assured of summer work at one of the neighbors vineyards, or orchards or an occasional mint fields. I guess you could say I grew up with a good work ethic, back in the days that children were allowed to work.
School than years later my children grew up college lead me to degree in Occupational Therapy and a job traveling from state to state to work 3 months at a time mostly in nursing home facilities. I met my in Mena, Arkansas when I was looking for a small RV to buy after becoming tired of moving in and out of apartments. Within a year of knowing him he convinced me to fall in love with him, marry him and travel the united states and other countries.
We were married for 9 years before cancer took him from me but before he died we shared a dream to develop a beautiful pond side home, which grew into a dream and develop a resort to share with others.
He would drive me in the 4 wheeler around our beautiful home and property where pointed out where each vacation rental should be. That resort never got any farther than building our own home before he died. But before he died, I promissed him I would build that resort in memory of him. Thus now 14 years after he died Dreamland Vacation Resort stands in his memory. Dreamland Vacation Resort represents dreams, memories, hope for the future, my late husband's generosity and my hard work determination to follow the dream . And like Forest Gump as he began to run, after he lost the love of his life, I am almost at the point where am ready to hand the torch to new Dreamers to carry the on the dream! Enjoy!
