Ver comfortable unit and easy to get to. Driving distance from restaurants, shops and groceries. Unit is located in the corner of the second floor, so very convenient. Complex has two pools and you can enjoy sunset from the saltwater one. Highly recommended for your stay in Kona

Kona Condo

I’m very happy we rented this property for our 4 days in Kona. Great location—the property is conveniently located. You can’t necessarily walk to the downtown areas—sidewalks are practically non-existent, and it’s about a 25-30 minute walk. However, it’s a quick drive and still well located. The apartment felt smaller than I anticipated. The apartment was clean, but a little dusty. The property may have been unoccupied for sometime. The balcony view was wonderful. Fast and easy check in and check out process. Would recommend this property and would stay again.

The property was in a very convenient location for all that we wanted to do. The suite was “as shown” on VRBO site. Kona Vacations was provided terrific service with quick replies if we needed anything!!! Would definitely choose to stay at this complex again and or choose to book with Kona Vacations

Place looked exactly like the pics. I even had the unexpected pleasure of meeting the owner while I was there. Clean, orderly, nice decor, and well equipped kitchen. I will try to stay there again.

Great Location

Upon arrival after dark, the lights were on, the door code worked, and the condo was immaculate. The complex laundry mat is close by. I used two washers, but only needed one dryer. Enjoyed the double entry to the bathroom, and this condo would be perfect for more than two people. Had everything I needed for cooking. Lovely views from the Lanai.

Bed was a little uncomfortable, and was worried that the dishwasher would come out as it is not secured very well. Also, a little ant problem but was taken care of fairly quickly. But, if those are my problems on this wonderful island then I think I am pretty lucky :) Loved the communal BBQ and watching the sunset on the man-made beach listening to the waves crashing. Everyone staying there was very friendly! If you love the sun like we do, this is a great location as the lanai gets covered with sun by about 8:00am. We were able to drink coffee and work on our tans every morning.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife is the most critic given on this rental. We felt the rental was dirty. No washer & dryer included with the rental. We were glad that we were mostly out and only to return to sleep. No view of the ocean. We can't even hear the waves. Only the fountain.

Best Place to Stay in Kona

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was my 4th stay in Kona and second at Casa de Emdeko. It' truly the best location - far enough out of the congestion, but still close enough to the action. Unit 221 is located near parking and the front of the building, so it's convenient for bringing up luggage and groceries. With the foliage, there's really no view of the ocean, but a quick walk at sunset takes care of that. If I were staying longer, I might want a unit closer to the ocean, but this was just great for us. The unit is fully stocked with everything needed for a week's stay and is generally well appointed (if that matters to you.) Thank God for the oscillating fan because it could get stuffy in the bedroom. The concierge service and rental car discount were unexpected but enjoyable perks of using this rental company.

Good Location, unit not what we expected

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We endured some unexpected issues upon our arrival to the condo. During our stay to Hawaii, it was very hot. Normally we do not plan on using the a/c but this trip we had to. Well, the a/c, of course, did not work. We had to call twice to get someone to fix the unit. We aren't really sure what was broken to be honest. One person said it was the a/c in the unit, another person said it wasn't an a/c unit that it was in fact a "chiller" ?? We were than told that the a/c was not working properly because we were not leaving the patio door open and in order for it to function properly we had to do this. We did not feel safe leaving this open during the night. The bathroom sink was plugged upon arrival and the shower plumbing was broke. Lastly, very disappointing that we were only given ONE set of towels which included ONE of everything. If we needed more than ONE set we had to pay a fee or we had to launder the one set we were given, however there were no washer/dryers in the unit but rather a community laundry room, which you had to pay of course to do the laundry.

The apartment was clean and well appointed with everything you would require in a self catered vacation stay. The complex was very well kept with a great barbecue facilities overlooking the ocean and two pools.
