Welcome to Hilltop Cottage! Be our guests in this beautifully renovated, historic cottage in the heart of it all! Renovated in May 2019!

Bring your family and friends and feel like a local as you settle in at The Hilltop Cottage! This bright, charming cottage is just steps from downtown Saugatuck and all there is to explore in the center of the action; you're just one block from restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shopping, playground, tennis courts, art galleries, and endless entertainment - just park your car and relax! Oval Beach, among the Top 10 Most Beautiful Beaches in the Nation, is a short bike ride, a 5 minute drive, or take the Chain Ferry across the Kalamazoo River and walk! Known as “The Art Coast of Michigan”, there are galleries galore to explore. The Saugatuck Center for the Arts offers performances that are among the best in the region. Easy drive to the many local golf courses, hiking in Saugatuck Dunes State Park, Fenn-Valley Vineyards, Crane's Apple Orchard, Dune Schooners rides and other area attractions.

The Hilltop Cottage exceeded all of our expectations: super clean, best location - walking to downtown Saugatuck, porch was great. Kathy is very friendly and the place is well stocked with anything you would need + beach items! When we venture back to Saugatuck we hope to stay here again.

Comfy cottage close to everything

We had a great stay at hilltop cottage! It was spotless and every detail was thought of - coffee, cookies, and even fresh flowers were provided! Beds were very comfortable and we loved being so close to town for the Venetian festival. Thank you! We would stay again!

This restored historic house is in a perfect location--a short walk up the hill from all of the action. The house is well set up, including lots of amenities for young ones--books, blocks, etc. We loved the beach gear, with plenty of chairs, an umbrella with sand drill, and beach toys. Having both an enclosed sun porch and an open front porch was great!

Everything was perfect and all five of us loved our stay in this hilltop cottage! The location was great and the home was the best equipped that I've experienced. Kathy and her husband were friendly and close by if needed, though we didn't need a thing! I highly recommend this home.

Why they chose this property

This historic house was moved from the lumber boomtown of Singapore in the 1860's. We completely restored it in the 1990's and updated everything in 2019.

What makes this property unique

Located in "On the Hill" in downtown Saugatuck. Two blocks from shopping, dining, and dock strolling, playground yet away from it all in a cozy historic neighborhood.
