Ms. Woods was an EXCELLENT host. The home was beautiful and well kept, as well as private. I am excited to rebook her home for next year! I'm am positive her home will be a perfect fit for my family. I can't wait to stay again!

Great property, very clean and lots of space. Very short boat ride to the scalloping grounds. The creek is shallow at low tides so you have to be aware. Host was great and quick to respond. We had a lot of storms while we were there so the uncovered stairs from top floor to middle floor wasn’t great but otherwise excellent property and would definitely rent again

Our family had an awesome week at the Rustic Roost. Great access to the Gulf & fishing daily. The kids spent hours catching & releasing fiddler crabs. We took a blow up kiddie pool where they played for hours. Our family stayed on the mezzanine deck that always had a great breeze. The two bedrooms on that deck enabled separation for naps or turning in early. The top deck is perfect for watching beautiful sunrises & sunsets. Perfect place to unwind & reset!

Can’t wait to go back!

Our family was so happy with our stay! The place and views is absolutely beautiful! Within minutes of being there we were looking for our next stay here! It was so peaceful and secluded. The fishing was awesome too! Definitely won’t regret booking this place! It a slice of heaven out there!

The Gem of the Big Bend

We absolutely loved our stay at the Rustic Roost. The home is situated on a beautiful, secluded property and has spectacular views. Rosemary was an absolute pleasure to work with and is a great host! We hope to go back next year.

Nice stay

The cabin is still under construction, so there were some minor inconveniences, but generally the property was great. We caught lots of fish off the dock as well as at the nearby fishing pier in Keaton Beach.

Our favorite fishing getaway

We had another amazing trip at The Rustic Roost again….yes, we are repeat renters at this beautiful home. We limited out on trout and redfish each day in our kayaks. The icing on the cake is the beautiful home you get to enjoy your stay in. Ms Woods was so wonderful in making sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely be returning!

A Special Place on Earth

The rustic feel combined with modern comforts made the house a very pleasant place to stay. But the views made the stay magnificent. We were blessed to see lots of wildlife from the house, the surrounding area and kayaks launched from the dock. Watching a thunderstorm in the predawn hours over the marsh from the back porch was a highlight of the trip for me. We would definitely stay here again.

Tranquil

If you are looking to get away and have peace and quiet this is your place. This is the childhood memories I had of growing up on the coast of Taylor County. Every time I look I saw the cutest decorations in the house. Everything you needed was there. I look forward to staying many more times!!

Paradise on Fish Creek

The pictures do not do justice. This immaculate home on Fish Creek offers so much… beautiful sunsets, excellent fishing, cleanliness, and beautiful wildlife experiences. Our family had such an amazing trip. The weather was cooler, so we had no problem catching fish up in the creek on our kayaks. We look forward to planning our next trip!

Slice of heaven in the Big Bend

Living in a large city, and not being able to travel was starting to take a toll on me. Booking this adorable home was the best thing I could have done for our family. The men fished all day on the dock , and I could paint, read and just enjoy the sun as I laid in one of the Chaise loungers. It’s called “Rustic Roost” for a reason, you truly are not around ANY people unless you want to be. we can’t wait to go back!

Great Stay

This property has been elevated into the air. The owner says that she is working on getting a lift to take items upstairs. That will be great for us older folks. It was hard carryimng heavy items up, but it is still as beautiful as ever once you get up there. This is my fourth or fifth trip and the mosquitos were very bad, but i had my OFF with me in my tackle box and it worked on them. I have never had this happen in all the trips before.I think that its because so much water is in the swamps from the hurricane. I love this place and will be back as soon as a lift is installed.

Great place to stay for multiple people for a scalloping weekend. Canal was easily navigable as long as it was not low tide. The only downside is if friends or family are staying on the lower level and want to access the living room or kitchen. There is no overhang for the stairwell going up to the top deck if rain is in the forecast.

Thanks for staying with us at the Rustic Roost. It is on our list for future renovations to add a roof over the upstairs stairwell. This Is the first summer we have opened back up for rentals since all the hurricane impacts, and were not able to complete all planned renovations in time.

We have thoroughly enjoyed each stay at Fish Creek. The home is perfect, kids swim in the creek and have room to play, and sunsets are beautiful! We are so thankful Ms Rosemary opens her home up for us!

Charming gem

Such a charming place. One bathroom but didn’t pose too much of a problem with three adults. Porch areas are wonderful with a lot of natural light. Property well maintained.

Perfect

Cannot say enough great things about our trip. The place is 17 minutes from steinahatchee. Perfect for our group. Kitchen was well equipped. We fished every morning and evening. Scalloped ever afternoon. We did have some trouble getting our rental boat from Seahag back into the property- the channel is kinda marked but we ran aground every time. A little anxiety provoking but oh well. Would stay here again anytime
