I’m 85 - female and wanted a little fishing cottage where I did not have to walk far to water or dock.Amenities more than ample- AC, heat, etc.Only suggestion is toMaybe add a screen door to bedroom area for cross ventilation.Also it would have been more pleasant to have had spider webs removed from dock and deck furniture as well as dock hosed down prior to arrival

It was a great cabin. Unfortunately, for me, being a 6'6" person, it was a bit cramped, and I don't know if it was explicitly stated. However, the host was very accommodating and helped me out a lot during my stay. I would say if you are 5'10" and above, you may want to avoid this particular cabin (#7), but I definitely would go again and in one of the neighboring cabins. It was a beautiful view and it was very relaxing

Wonderful getaway!

Wr enjoyed our stay over july 4th tremendously. The cottage is so cute and cozy. The deck and dock were much enjoyed! We kayaked, fished, and watched a fireworks show on the lake. We will be back!

Nice Getaway

The cabin is very clean! Owner was responsive. Check in was easy and description accurate. Sunsets on the lake are beautiful. We had a wonderful time on our relatively local getaway!

Peaceful Place

Coming from Florida everything was simple and reserved easily even extended my stay with no problems. Upon arrival the coffee machine was replaced quickly and additional pans were delivered promptly. They even purchased a new grill and setup a few more lawn recliners. Cottage was clean and cozy with a great view of the lake to wake up to and a beautiful sunset to watch from the deck!

Nice cabin on the lake

Clean and peaceful cabin on a lake. Had it’s own dock so ideal for canoeing and swimming. Saw alot of fishing going on also on the lake. Location is close to restaurants, Lyman Orchards and a nice winery Roseblanca Vineyards. We also attended the Durham fair 2 miles away which had alot to do and events to attend.

A 5 star lakefront cottage

We had a wonderful short weekend at this lovely cottage. We enjoyed both the sunrise and sunset on the back deck overlooking the lake and also took full advantage of fishing off of the dock while we were there! The cottage is perfectly located near both shopping and restaurants, there is plenty of both in the area to choose from. It made for a perfect weekend getaway and we highly recommend this place for anyone looking to getaway for a lakefront weekend.

Beware: TOXIC LAKE WATERLake water is a disgusting, dark brown color due to active cyanobacteria and swimming, boating, fishing or drinking were prohibited for the duration of our stay. Cyanotoxins cause rashes, hives, and severe skin irritation, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, and liver damage. Dog face FATAL poisoning. No mention of problems with water by renters. In fact, the last text I got before checkin was to bring our "SWIM TOWELS". Luckily, I googled it after seeing how awful the water looked, otherwise we would have had no idea. Upon messaging with the property manager, I was told that the back cover of the white binder for information on the property has a paper that instructs renters to check with the state CT to keep up to date on water quality. That was how they try to cover themselves. I was not told this until I texted my concerns. No concern for renter's health and well being at all. ZERO. My husband fished for about 30 minutes when he caught "something". It looked like human feces. I am uploading a picture for you to decide. That was the last straw. When I said I wanted a refund and we were leaving, I was told that the lake is simply an AMENITY and is not really an important part of the rental. REALLY? I was given a 10% refund for not being able to use the MAIN aspect of the rental. I was also told to enjoy the property such as the deck. Well, the deck is in blazing sun from 11am to 7pm, with a small table umbrella to hide under for shade.

CUTE AND QUAINT

THIS WAS JUST PERFECT FOR OUR WEEKEND GET-A-WAY. LITTLE RED COTTAGE IT IS, WITH SHORT CEILINGS AND OPEN CONCERPT FEEL. ALL THE NATURAL LIGHT WAS NICE TOO AS MUCH AS MY EYES CAN BE SENSITIVE IT WAS NICE TO USE THAT THAN LIGHTS.

It was a lovely property, very quiet and quaint. I had an issue with the toilet and shower on the second day and I called and left a message with the Manager and within an hour I was contacted by the maintenance person. He followed up with a text that everything was good, and it was.

Nice weekend getaway

The property was exactly as the photos and description shows. This place is all about the location. Steps from a gorgeous and peaceful lake. The house is not fancy but cute and clean. It Has what you need. As someone else said the shower is a bit small and “short” I am 5 ft 11 and had only a couple inches of head room but Its far from a deal breaker. Overall. Loved the property and experience.

Fabulous!

We loved everything about this property, the location, furnishings, the bed, even the towels! The only thing we had a problem with was the tv. We do not subscribe to any streaming service and therefore we were unable to watch tv as we know it. There was enough to do in the area that it wasn’t a terribly huge issue.
