The Hideout at Bear Lake is an enchanting mix of mountain Luxury and outdoor adventure.. With beautiful views and space for 34 guests it doesn't get any better than the Hideout. Guests can enjoy hiking, ATV and snowmobile trails right from the front door. Located in Shundahai and set on an amazing 1 acre immaculately landscaped lot , guests at the Hideout can enjoy ATV, snowmobile and hiking trails directly from the cabin. A spacious driveway, which offers parking for all our guests. The Hideout is only 10 minutes from Beaver Mountain Ski resort and 5 minutes from Bear Lake. Which makes it perfect for year round use.

The Hideout has has been designed for large groups (28 people in beds) plus a large grass yard perfect for setting up tents or sleeping under the stars!--We are set up for large family reunions or company retreats with room to be together but space to enjoy privacy. The loft area has a games table and ping pong which provides fun for all ages. Downstairs has a large 65" TV with Bose Surround Sound perfect for watching movies or your favorite sports team. The Hideout has a kids room with built in Bunks their own TV and DVD player. The Backyard offers the best views Bear Lake has to offer with a fire pit and kids custom play area. .

The pictures don't do it justice, so beautiful, inside and out!

The place was perfect for our family reunion. Plenty of space, fantastic and well-stocked kitchen (best we've ever seen), lots of seating, rooms to gather and rooms to be alone, and the views are simply stunning. We agreed we'd love to come back. The host never did tell us how to access Legacy Beach, so I'm not sure that's still an amenity, but we didn't need it since we kept ourselves entertained at the house. We didn't love the early check out for such a large group, but we made it with only a few grumbles! If you're looking for a quiet, comfy, beautiful place for a large group, our family would recommend The Hideout!

The disappointments: Reached out a week prior to plan the pool and private beach activities only to be told that the beach amenities were “shutdown for the summer.” It is annoying that we had to reach out for that information and were not notified as soon as owners knew. Only cryptic details were given & we had to scramble to make alternative plans. The main selling point of the house was said pool/private beach access…be aware that it is NOT available but is still in current listing. We made the most of it, but the bottom line is that we did not receive amenities we had paid for and have yet to get a decent explanation or any concession for the false advertising and lack of prior communication. There was garbage we had to remove, dishes to put away, and crud in the dishwasher we cleaned and fixed. We also had to clean the grill. The WiFi went out mid-stay but it seemed like an equipment issue and not something the owners could have prevented so no big deal. It forced us to get out so it was okay. The good: Plenty of space and beds for our group of 26 other than the limited dining space but we were able to make it work. The kitchen had everything we needed but needs a refresh on the organization.The outstanding: the view is second to none. The weather was great and we ultimately made the most of the downers and had a good reunion. All that being said, we will book a different house next time. 3 stars due to unmet expectations and no real explanations.

The Hideout

We had a great stay at The Hideout. There was plenty of room for our large family. The beds were comfortable, lots of extra bedding and kitchen supplies. The view was incredible!

Bear Lake Family Trip 2024

Plenty of room for all. Had an amazing moose right in the back yard. We spent most of our time at the north bear lake where the water was the most amazing blue.

Wonderful Getaway

The house was just as expected. Beautiful view of the lake in a great secluded location. Plenty of parking for our family and we appreciated the fully stocked kitchen. Also plenty of extra blankets and pillows. We will definitely be back!

Nice cabin

This is our second time staying at this cabin. We love the view and area, access to legacy beach. It was a good size for our extended family vacation. Cleanliness was not quite as good this time as the time before. Overall we had a great time and this cabin was a great place to stay. 😊

Beautiful home set up perfectly for our family reunion. The kids had a blast playing ping pong and playing on the outdoor climbing structure . Beautiful views! We even saw a moose in the woods. Loved our stay!

We brought 33 family members to stay at this property and there was room for everyone. We loved the spacious kitchen, lots of room to spread out and amazing view. Easy access to Garden City and Bear Lake.

A Bit of Heaven!

We had 10 adults and 15 children and teens age 4-18. It couldn't have been a better place for our family reunion! Beds enough for everyone and a beautiful amazingly well stocked kitchen. It is in a picturesque location overlooking Bear Lake and a gorgeous view of the mountains. It is minutes to shops and Bridgerland Adventure Center. This would be our first choice when coming back to Bear Lake. Highly recommend it!

Family Reunion

Great location to hold a large family gathering. The number of bedrooms (9) and bathrooms (6) are unique, and made it especially comfortable and uncongested. The owner and property manager were both great, and the home was clean and well-equipped. It's about 5 - 10 minutes to Garden City and the beach, but the views up on the mountain side are really beautiful and relaxing. The Legacy club connection was really a plus.

Beautiful house with all the amenities

This house has plenty of room for everyone to spread out and be comfortable. The kitchen was big and the deck and views were incredible. It was private yet convenient to town. Loved the yard and amenities. The only recommendation we’d give the owners is to replace the twin mattresses because we had adults sleeping on them and they could feel the springs in their backs! We’ll definitely be coming back though!

Great first time visit to Garden City

Our family of 26 stayed in the Hideout for 5 days in late June. The check in / access process was quick and simple. The house upon arrival was exactly as described. Definitely large enough to give our extended family plenty of space. The deck was the highlight in the evenings. We also found ourselves spending time around the firepit three of the five nights. Overall a very nice home in a great location overlooking the lake. The pool and hot tub access were a big hit during the day. It's right on the edge of the beach which provided easy access to our pontoon. We will definitely stay in the Hideout when we return.

Beautiful home, beautiful views

The home was amazing, and the view of Bear Lake was great. We had a few questions which were answered very quickly by the property manager. Our only 'gripe' would be that on the listing, it says "Basic soaps" amenities. Which we probably should have realized would be only hand soap and dish soap, but we assumed it would be basic shampoo/conditioner/body wash so not many people packed those products. It would be nice to have that clarification. The cabin is clean, and there was room for all 26 of us to spread out comfortably. Also, to access to Legacy Beach clubhouse was awesome. We enjoyed walking back and forth from the pool/hot tub to the lake. Thank you for sharing your home!

Great spacious property with spectacular views of Bear Lake

The property was beautiful. It was stocked with everything we needed. We spotted some wild turkeys across the road which was fun! This is such a great space for a large group- plenty of bedrooms as well as large common spaces to gather. Lots of bathrooms, too! We had a great time while we were there. The owners were responsive and helpful with questions we had. Unfortunately the pool, splash pad, etc advertised as part of the private beach were not completed when we were there (Aug 2017). Also the beach was smaller than we were expecting. Only 50 yards in length and probably 15 feet of depth (high water this year) and shared by lots of other large properties so if you have a large group be aware you might have a hard time finding space. The beach had lawn chairs and tables with umbrellas as well as a big grassy space to play which was nice. Overall we were happy with our time there!

Beautiful home, plenty of room, with a stunning view!

This house is perfect for a large group. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The yard was perfect / our kids spent hours on the playground and playing in the grassy areas. The house has high end finishes, and is fully stocked with everything that you need. It also has an amazing view of bear lake! We loved having access to the legacy beach club. It made it very convenient for parking, access to the beach, and they have a pool and hot tub there. My only negative was that the garage and front porch were pretty dirty. We hosed off the front porch area, but couldn’t do much with the garage. Definitely not a reason not to stay here - just feedback for the homeowners/cleaners. Also, you should update your website pictures. The house is much prettier in person which was a nice surprise! We would highly recommend this property and hope to visit it again!

Beautiful Home, Gorgeous View, Well-Stocked Kitchen

Loved our stay. Lots of space. Beautiful furniture and great TV's. Lots for kids to do - stocked toy closet and play area. Two things affected our family reunion. The online listing said it sleeps 32. We were surprised that there was only chair seating for 14 plus 8 bar stools. We had to bring a table and 10 chairs to seat our group for meals. The second, the listing said 5 queen beds and they were VERY SMALL queens, more like double beds,and made it uncomfortable for the couples in those rooms. Several slept on couches instead.The King Sized beds were great. Also the garage floor was so dirty and stickly from foods spilt by the fridge and dripped about.and tracked in on our feet. Location was wonderful - we enjoyed being so close to the Bridger Adventure Park. And I personally loved the towels!! We had a great reunion just some were less rested than others. Bailey was great at communicating immediately to me before the event and during answering all our questions. Bring your own soap and shampoo. Laundry was stocked and dish soap enough for all our dirty dishes.
