Family retreat

A great place to spend a relaxing 5 days with adult children after busy holiday. It is spacious and private with nice deck/table with umbrella, grill and 2 bathrooms. Expresso machine and use of washing machine a bonus. A few things would have made it more comfortable for us like fans and curtains in every bedroom and a microwave. It was hot and hard to find enough shade or sleep well. Kitchen had most everything just not enough as we ate all meals here every day. Easy drive, but had to go to motueka if you needed anything. The owner was clear that you Must not mind animals if you stay here. Very clear instructions and nice welcome package. Beautiful country side to drive or bike.

Hi, I am the owner and resident of this house. I'm a single mum raising two girls in an awesome part of the world. I grew up in Australia and then came to New Zealand in 2000. Where I met the father of my children and we built this property from bare land. We had times of living in a caravan to small shed to half finished house to the finished house you see today. I currently run a retreat and course centre for people learning ConTact C.A.R.E and practice this discipline in a professional capacity also. I travel away for work but always love coming home and feeling the instant relief, peace and tranquility Epona has to offer. Many people have stayed with me in a course capacity and have all said the same thing, theres a certain ambience to this place. Welcome!

Why they chose this property

Epona has a very grounding and peaceful energy to it. From the horses to the creek to the hills in the distant, everything converges together to bring a sense of calm to everyone. Its the perfect place to relax and enjoy your own space whilst being close enough to town for a quick trip to the supermarket, shopping or out to dinner. After a big day out and about exploring all the region has to offer, it feels so good to come home and relax in comfort with the hassles of the world behind you. This is why I live here its my sanctuary and I want to share it with some more people who need that, whilst I explore the mountains in the region with my daughters.

What makes this property unique

I love relaxing on the deck or in the outdoor bath, sipping whatever drink takes your fancy at the time. Watching the sun sink slowly over the hills creating stunning skies and colours. Horses grazing peacefully, whilst the bird song brings the end of the day and the peace of night settles over the world. Epona is a special place of sanctuary in the hussle bussle of busy professional life.
