The room was very out dated, especially for the price. We ended up leaving early and only staying one night because the beds were so old and uncomfortable, and there were big ants crawling throughout the place. Definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here.
We loved our stay at Urban Saddle Ranch. The outdoor seating and fire ring were great to have, the owners were very friendly, and so were the other guests who shared the general area. We were really glad to be able to bring our dog. I would change the web description which says the kitchen is fully stocked - there were no bowls, or oven dishes. I would also mention that the entrance road is very hilly and unpaved.
Hi Debbie, thanks for letting us know about your stay. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they would like to share the following: We like to emphasize that our property is presented in line with the advertised descriptions, and we encourage guests to make bookings based on these representations. It is our hope that guests will not book with certain expectations and then feel disappointed upon arrival. We did indeed make efforts to address the situation. The guests voluntarily took the initiative to repair the toilet seat and smoke detectors, and we further assisted by providing them with the necessary tools. Our commitment is to ensure that every guest has a positive and enjoyable experience, and we are dedicated to rectifying any discrepancies.
Definitely has the cabin feel we were looking for. Cabin was pretty clean besides I had to wipe out spiders and spider webs from shower. Mouse droppings were also found on folded comforter blankets on beds. I also attempted to contact the property manager with a few questions about the property via email and phone, but did not hear back for over a week. Reviews about the kitchen are correct, if you plan to cook, I’d bring extra pots/pans and cooking utensils just to be safe. We ate out the whole time so this wasn’t an issue for us. The property is pretty great, especially if you have kids who like the outdoors. There’s farm animals, gravel roads for riding bikes or walking and a small playground.
Check in was a nightmare. No where on the listing it states to inform property manager if we were bringing a boat. Not near enough parking for the amount of cabins they have. Called to inform late check in and was basically called a liar and was greeted by a grumpy man "all because he had to get out of bed" the cabin had a horrible stench to it and was almost 90. The water smelled like sulfur. Not handicap accessible and a 4 minute walk as we were not allowed to park by the apartment. Needless to say we left on Saturday instead of sunday. It is a cool little property but i would not recommend staying in the apartments.

Hi Ashley, we want our guests to arrive at a vacation home that’s ready to welcome them with ease, so we’re sorry to hear check-in didn’t go as smoothly as it should have. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- Guests arriving after 7 p.m. are asked to notify us in advance so arrangements can be made, especially for late-night arrivals. We were unaware of your timing and didn’t receive any notice before your check-in.- We ask all guests to share if they’re bringing a boat so we can plan parking accordingly. When this info isn’t shared upfront, it can be hard to accommodate space and safety needs.- The property does not advertise handicap accessibility, but the cabins are single-story with relatively easy access. If mobility needs are shared in advance, we are always happy to try to help.- The apartment units are a short walk from the designated parking area, and guests are advised of the parking layout at the time of booking.- We were not notified of any odor issues during your stay, but we will look into your comments about the water and cabin smell. Thanks again for taking the time to leave your review. We appreciate your feedback so we can continue improving the guest experience.
Nestled away this campground offers all the amenities for the perfect weekend. While there are many things to do close by, it’s just as nice staying on the property to relax. The owners are on site and attentive to any needs. Our unit was very clean upon arrival.
This is a great small community of camping cabins with great amenities for children to interact with farm animals. Fairly new owners who look forward to constructive reviews (complaining isnt the way to get what you want). I enjoyed my conversations with the owners and would enjoy more of them. I would definitely stay here again in the future if the opportunity arrises. I believe they are onto something great and will rarely have vacancies in the future. Book it now before you cannot.
The owners, animals, cabins - it was all very charming and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay and getting to know the owners and their animals. They've done an incredible job of making this a special place! We would definitely stay with them again.
Rustic cabins were clean and cozy. Owners were great and the whole set up was a pleasant experience. Just what we were looking for to get away from the busy city life.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit at the Urban Saddle. The hosts were wonderful in every way. The kids loved hanging out with the horses, chickens, ducks & kittens. They got to feed them and feel like a ranch hand! The location was perfect for visiting Lake Raystown and there was plenty to do in the area. Very perfect time away!
