Because of inclement weather we spent a whole weekend inside this property, only only popping out to eat. . It provided everything we could need! In addition we had visits from the local deers morning and evening. Simply delightful!
The cottage was easy to find, in a nice location, with a lovely view of the Kenmare River. We wanted a cottage that was private and within a short drive into Kenmare and it was. A short hike away was a trail marked for the Ring of Beara. We didn't walk it but we did see others on this trail and another trail within a short distance. The cottage was well supplied with various hiking trail brochures and things to do for all ages in the area. There wasn't anything that we needed that wasn't already in the cottage. The rooms were clean and spacious but cozy and very nicely and comfortably furnished. Excellent water pressure for showers with plenty of clear hot water. There was a patio and garden with table & chairs between the house and large front yard that offered plenty of room for children or adults to play games. We were also able to occasionally hear and see small red deer. The owner, Jer Foley, was easily accessible. The location is perfect for day trips to several interesting activities. We look forward to staying at this property again & highly recommend.

We recently stayed in the house and couldn’t have enjoyed it more. The house was spotless and cosy with beautiful views. It’s in a great location, 5mins drive from Kenmare town. Jer was very accommodating and helpful. We are already looking forward to taking another break there soon.

Go ahead and book - you will have the perfect holiday!
Jer , I'd like to say that we had a fabulous time and congratulate you on your fantastic standard of accommodation. It had a very luxurious fit out with every modern convenience. The house had the most stunning views. I just loved my early morning cup of coffee watching the deer outside. The house had plenty of space with each bedroom having en suite along with a Jacuzzi bath. The WiFi was super fast. The grounds and garden were beautiful and private. Kenmare was only 4km away. We didn’t want to leave! And will be back next year

Lovely House for Peaceful Stay
This was a lovely house only a couple of miles from town but with beautiful views and surrounded by nature - visiting deer in the large garden at morning and evening. Quick spin to town and plenty of options for drives, walks or cycles. Large rooms and great patio. Already booked again for next year.

Ring of Kerry base
We visited Kenmare with the intention of doing a quick tour of the Ring of Kerry. This rental was everything we were looking for. Quiet and spacious with a great view. Description was very accurate. The pub where you pick up the keys - O’Donnabhain’s - is also great for a bite and a pint (or more). Kenmare in general is a cute town with plenty to offer.

Beautiful spot! Well appointed cottage in a great area. Not far from town and private in a safe secure area. Cozy fireplace, well appointed kitchen. Grabbed the keys from one of the local pubs which was a great little place! Very welcoming!

Schönes Haus in ruhiger Lage

Nice house however poor quality service
Truly nice house located in a beautiful area of Kenmare. The house is large enough and well equipped (except for the dishes and plates). The house is however getting old and would need some works (the heating system, some of the windows).
We were disappointed by the wifi which is limited. After 5 days the wifi connection was turned off. I went to the pub of the owner to see what was the problem and I was welcomed in a rude manner "I cannot help call this number" (no "sorry for the inconvenience caused" or so)... I took us 4 days to have the wifi back, and only for 3 days, because it was turned off again...
So in a nutshell a beautiful house but with a disappointing customer service.

Great Holiday Home
Wonderful house in a great location about about 5 miles from Kenmare.
The house is very spacious and clean with spectacular views. The owner was very helpful and friendly
The condition of the sofa in the sitting room is poor and some windows ( sitting room and master bedroom) have problems with condensation inbetween the double glazing which means a loss of the beautiful view.
An extra large towel per person would be very welcome because the house has two bubble baths.
Overall a great holiday home !

Comfortable stay in a beautiful part of the world
A good position 2 miles from Kenmare with views over the estuary.
Very spacious and comfortable accommodation for 4 people.
Did not read details of hire properly and ended up paying €30 for calor gas heating (Water only) and electricity.
With access to a good dishwasher, it would be nice to have more cutlery and crockery to fill it up.
Recommended and we will return.

Perfect location for a quiet getaway
We had a fantastic stay at this property. It was so well equipped and the location was very special, so quiet and peaceful and only a short drive into Kenmare. Our kids loved the space the house offered. Jer the host was great and called in to check everything was OK on the day we arrived! We will definitely be returning to what our kids call "our Kerry house"!!

About the host
Hosted by Jer Foley
Kenmare Rentals is the most recent addition to our family business. Owning and managing O'Donnabhain's Bar & Guest House for many years, we have seen an opening for Self Catering / Holiday Homes as many of our initial guests who are staying with us for the last few years, are spending longer periods here, and it is another alternative.. We have also realised that it can be more cost-efficient and often more convenient for guests who are visiting Kenmare for longer periods of time, to make themselves at home in one of our Self Catering Holiday Homes . If it is your dream to spend a week in a Holiday Cottage in Co. Kerry, then we can make that dream come true. In recent years, we have therefore newly built or carefully restored, and lovingly furnished and fitted out a small number of Self Catering properties in or near Kenmare town. The properties were designed and finished to our own high standards of comfort and requirement for space, and will truly offer you a home away from home. Kenmare is an ideal base to explore, the South West of Ireland . Co. Kerry, with the Ring of Kerry, Muckross House, and the Gap of Dunloe on your doorstep, as well as the beautiful Ring of Beara in Co. Cork, which starts in Kenmare.
What makes this property unique
As owner managers, we care about our properties and our guests. When you rent one of our homes, you are not just a number; individual attention is guaranteed. We will like to have you enjoy our properties at all times but if and when you need us, we are just a phone call away.
