Set among olive groves, the well appointed villa is an ideal relaxing base for any type of holiday. Private pool is set next to a shaded dining area with outdoor kitchen equipped with gas BBQ gas ring wood/charcoal grill and outdoor fridge and sink. The pergola provides an area where one can subath without being overlooked. The beaches, shops and tavernas are just a short drive away. Fantastic property, amazing outside areas even better than they look in the pictures. Wonderful rural area for exploring on a bike or walking. Helpful communication from the owner - would thoroughly recommend the villa.

Wonderful stay!

Wonderful stay in a beautiful villa, spectacular view, close to beaches and awesome tavernas. Villa and pool very nice, clean and clearly bigger than expected. We loved our stay! Only improvement would be a less soft mattress in the master bedroom.

Great property in a perfect location

We've really enjoyed our two weeks at Minoan Villa, which is comfortable & well equipped. We have found the location perfect for discovering & exploring Eastern Crete. We've loved the outdoor facilities & proximity to villages, towns, tavernas,& archaeological sites. This has been the perfect start to our 6 weeks on Crete. Amazing villa!

Unbelievable location - a very private and peaceful property with amazing views, and yet just a short walk to atmospheric tavernas and a bustling evening environment. Not managed to find that combination before. Fantastically equipped with outdoor kitchen and fast working WiFi. Excellent communication from Mark throughout. Would love to come again and would highly recommend this property to anyone!

We had 10 days in this villa in October. Mark kindly allowed us an early check in as the villa was empty the night before our arrival. Instructions were given for how to drive to the villa, but I would request GPS co-ordinates as I don't think we would have easily found the property without that (the road signs that were used as indicators appear to have changed and the right hand turn required is obscured by trees growing near the roadside). From an Australian perspective, the bed in the master bedroom is not a Queen but a very small Double. The mattress in that room is soft and lumpy and not particularly comfortable. The furniture in the living areas is comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked for self catering. The listing needs to be updated as the tavernas mentioned as being within walking distance have both closed, so there is now nowhere to eat out within walking distance. Also, there is now a requirement to pay a Climate Crisis Resilience Tax of 15 Euros per night when staying at the villa. As it was autumn when we were there we didn't use the pool at all, although it looked inviting. Lastly, beware of the cotton mats on the floor of every room - we found them to be trip hazards and rolled them up and put them aside for the duration of our stay. Communication with Mark before arrival was quick and easy, however, after we had arrived I got the impression that questions about the property were not appreciated, so I didn't bother him again.

Lovely villa, amazing view, perfect holiday!

This is the first time we have used Owners Direct but I will definitely use them again. This villa is lovely, it far exceeded our expectations. The photos don't really do it justice, the view from the pool is amazing, all the way to the see with the mountains behind us. The villa itself has everything you can need for a holiday and Mark was so helpful before we went organising a high chair for our daughter. Beach / pool towels were provided too which is rare and saved us so much room in our suitcases. I really couldn't fault the villa we were so comfortable there, even down to the games / cards / DVDs / books provided. Mark and Nikki have thought of everything. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and was cleaned again midway through our stay. The pool was cleaned every day for us and was just lovely. We have young children and I was nervous before we went about the pool, but the villa and outside terrace are gated off from the pool itself so we felt very safe to let the children run around knowing they could not get to the pool area without us opening the gate. Although the villa is in a seemingly remote location, in the mountains with outstanding views. There are two lovely tavernas only a five minute walk away. The two coasts are also only a five minute drive one way and a 15 minute drive the other. There are plenty of beaches nearby if you want therefore. We found the area perfect, there are lots of things to do and see if you want, from boats trips, caves, beaches and mountain villages. But if you just want to relax in the sun by the pool it's perfect for that too! You'd be hard pushed to find a pool with a better view! I wish I was still there and we will definitely return!

Exceptionnel ! Cette maison est un havre de paix. Nous avons passé un séjour des plus reposants avec nos 2 enfants. la piscine, la cuisine d’été extraordinaire car mon mari l a complètement adoptée…! ,les bains de soleil, la vue tout était parfait. Mon ado a même trouvé les enceintes pour nous mettre de la musique au bord de la piscine. Il ne manque vraiment rien!Allez-y, les yeux fermés. Et un grand merci aux propriétaires

Ruhe und Entspannung pur !!

In diesem Haus haben wir zwei sehr schöne Herbstwochen verbracht. Der Aufenthalt hat unsere Erwartungen sogar noch übertroffen. Im Urlaub wünschen wir uns das Kontrastprogramm zu unseren stressigen Jobs und das fanden wir hier perfekt vor. Das Haus liegt am Rande eines kleinen Dörfchens und bietet wirklich Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit. Außer gelegentlichen Besuchen von einem Hund, einer Katze oder einer Ziege kann man hier wunderbar für sich sein. Dabei braucht es nur 20 Minuten, um zum nächsten Supermarkt zu kommen, um sich mit allem einzudecken, was man in der tollen Outdoorküche verarbeiten möchte. Die wunderbare Aussichten haben wir sehr genossen … tagsüber aufs Meer und nachts in die Sterne. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

Excellent séjour dans cette belle et confortable maison

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans cette maison idéalement placé pour découvrir l’Est de la Crête. On ne s’est pas lassé de la vue sur les montagnes, la mer et les vautours. La maison est idéale pour un couple avec 2 enfants avec une grande pièce de vie. La climatisation dans toute les pièces est un plus et la piscine est de belle taille. Merci Mark

Erholung pur

Wunderbar und ruhig gelegen konnten wir gut 2 Wochen sehr erholsame Tage in der Minoanvilla verbringen. Alles lief problemlos, bei der Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter angefangen (Many thanks Mark!) über die Sauberkeit in Haus, Grundstück und Pool bis hin zur Einrichtung, die genau Beschreibung und Bildern entsprach. Trotz der ruhigen Lage gut gelegen für Ausflüge zu den Highlights Westkretas und hervorragend auch die Nähe zur Taverne Kapilion (supernett und immer wieder authentisch lecker). Vollkommen zurecht 5 Sterne für dieses Haus!

Wunderbarer Urlaubsort

Wir haben hier eine herrliche Woche verbracht. Die Umgebung, der Meerblick, das Häuschen, alles sehr luxuriös ausgestattet. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Das Restaurant im Örtchen ist sehr zu empfehlen. Wir können nur schwärmen . Vielen Dank für die kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten bei der Ankunft. Der Pool war morgens und am Abend ein Muss. An amazing villa in a perfect setting.

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Minoan Villa. The villa itself has everything you need for a home from home stay. The setting is breathtaking and the small village has two great Tavernas and a bar with amazing Mojitos! While secluded it is just a short drive to both coasts where you can find picturesque villages and beaches where you can cool off in the sea. Mark and Nicky have been great throughout and really have thought of everything. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Well equipped and homely in stunning location

The villa is set in an absolutely stunning location. Off the beaten track but still close to amenities. Right on the doorstep of two excellent tavernas. Although they do get very busy! Villa was very homely, well equipped kitchen and board games which we all enjoyed. The pool is fab and we spent a few days just relaxing watching the golden eagles flying over... bliss. Loads to explore too. Some lovely little towns nearby.. We loved mochlos. And also some great beaches for swimming and snorkelling. Food excellent everywhere. Villa was cleaned mid holiday which was nice and pool cleaned every few days. An excellent place to stay put and relax or as a base to explore eastern Crete. Highly recommend.

schöne Unterkunft mit wunderbaren Blick

Monastiraki winziges Dorf mit zwei Tavernen, die in der Vorsaision (März) nur am Wochenende geöffnet haben. Ideale Lage zur Cha-Schlucht, Thripti-Alm und Orinoberge. Aber auch Knossos ist gut erreichbar.

A beautiful villa, stunning views and a tranquil holiday destination.

The villa had everything we needed, the owners have thought of every detail. We spent some evenings drinking wine and absorbing the breath taking views and others in the two local tavernas eating good traditional Cretan food. Would recommend the small bar for cocktails. The hosts of the restaurants are especially welcoming and friendly. There was an excellent choice of DVD's, books and games; which we all took advantage of. The whole holiday was extremely tranquil just what we all needed from our usual busy, hectic jobs. A villa we would definitely return to.

A really stunning villa in a fantastic location; ideal for a perfect get away from it all!

Just back from a fantastic week in this villa in Monastiraki. The location of the villa is perfect for those wanting to escape from it all, but is only a short drive from the main National road and has two delightful tavernas within a few minutes walk. The villa was clean and very well equipped and Mark was very helpful with any questions we had about the area etc. All in all a super holiday thanks Mark!

Excellent sejour dans une maison agréable à l'entrée d'un village authentique

La maison est bien décorée et agréable à vivre. Une terrasse ombragée, une belle piscine avec une vue dégagée (montagne et mer). Le village de Monastiraki possède deux tavernes chaleureuses et un bar sympa. La mer est à 10-15 minutes. Le seul bruit est celui des cigales ( mais elles se déchaînent !) et du vent. Un cadre reposant pour de belles vacances.

Schöner Platz, schönes Haus, schöne Zeit!

Wir haben eine wunderbare Woche in Monastiraki verbracht. Die Minoan-Villa liegt etwas abseits des malerischen Dorfes, wunderbar gelegen unterhalb eines Höhenzugs der eine der größten Schluchten Kretas, die Schlucht Ha, beheimatet. Von dort sind die Süd- und die Nordküste Kretas in nur ein paar Autominuten zu erreichen. Die Versorgungslage ist, Mobilität vorausgesetzt, sehr gut, da in Ierapetra vom Einzelhandel bis zu etlichen Supermärkten und einem samstäglich stattfindenden, wunderschönem Wochenmarkt, alles geboten wird, was man brauchen könnte. Die Minoan Villa selbst ist ein sehr gut ausgestattetes Haus mit zwei Schlafzimmern, zwei Bädern, einer großen Wohnküche und einer teils beschatteten, teils sonnigen Terrasse. Das Haus ist sehr solide und wertig gebaut, es ist auch im Detail schön gearbeitet und von hoher Qualität. Die Ausstattung mit Geschirrspüler, Waschmaschine etc. ist sehr umfangreich, besonders das gut funktionierende Internet / W-Lan war angenehm. Der Pool ist gepflegt und ausreichend um tatsächlich zu schwimmen, 4 angenehm gepolsterte Liegen ermöglichen das uneingeschränkte Sonnenbaden. Der Blick, der sich rund um das Haus ergibt ist bis hin zu "atemberaubend"! Dem Betrachter bieten sich Berge, Hügel, Landschaften, Sonnenuntergänge, nicht zuletzt das Meer, ...und all das in einer kaum mehr zu erlebenden Ruhe und Stille, so dass Urlaub, von der ersten Sekunde an, Erholung bedeutet. Beautiful villa in a secluded area of eastern crete

We had a very enjoyable week here, the villa is spacious and well equipped, the local village has two great taverna and friendly locals. A short drive to the local facilities and beaches.

Lovely villa

A lovely villa located with great views in a quiet location. The listing accurately describes the property and it had everything required. We enjoyed using it as a base to get out and about quite widely, but the villa, pool and facilities were welcome to go back to. Well recommended for a quiet and relaxing holiday

Why they chose this property

We bought the villa as the perfect get away for quiet relaxation. The villa is a perfect base for exploring eastern Crete. We came across it by accident and fell in love with it.

What makes this property unique

We really enjoy the local village life, local food and stunning views.
Minoan Villa gives you access to to Agios Nikoaos, Lerapetra and the East end of Crete. If you want a villa in an estate of villas with a tourist trap high street, then this is not the place for you. If you want a peaceful mountainside villa with (we think) one of the best tavernas in Crete within staggering distance, stunning views and wildlife and easy acces to the sea, both North and South and a gentle cooling breeze then this is the place for you.
