Idyllic rural retreat with parking , near Porthcurno, Minack Theatre, Beaches

The Piggery at Tresidder is a Grade 2 listed building from the early 19th century and has been sensitively renovated. It is the perfect destination for a tranquil break away from the hustle and bustle of life and it's pressures . The Piggery is perfectly situated for visiting popular and picturesque locations such as Porthcurno, The World famous open air Minack Theatre, Mousehole ( quoted as 'The prettiest village in England' by Dylan Thomas, Sennen Cove ( one of the finest surfing beaches in the U.K),St Michael's Mount, St Ives and many more beautiful coves, attractions, beaches and villages.

Land's End airport is only just 4 miles away for day trips to the Isles of Scilly or catch the ferry from Penzance , 7 miles away.

The Piggery is situated within the grounds of the owners' home yet offers privacy in it's own surrounding garden where you can enjoy wonderful views of the countryside and wildlife. It is an ideal location for watching buzzards, kestrels and sometimes even peregrines and sparrowhawks. So many of our guests have commented that it's a delight to just stay put for the whole day, enjoying the different areas of the garden on the sun loungers or the secluded patio with the swinging seat or inside with the log burner lit and comfy seating.
We are only 4 miles away from the finest surfing beaches in the area , Sennen and Gwenver. On the South coast , approx 9 miles , Perranuthnoe and Praa Sands.We have a Mini Mal surfboard available for use should you wish to have a go or if you're unable to bring your own, Otherwise surfboard hire and lessons are widely available.

We have no light pollution here so it is the perfect spot to stargaze on clear nights.
The Piggery was finished in 2017 to a very high standard and offers a luxurious and comfortable experience with underfloor heating throughout property in cooler months, a wood burner and generous log supply, dishwasher, washer dryer, microwave, well equipped kitchen for cooking at home, Comfy King size bed, Powerful shower, Television with freesat , DVD player ,Bluetooth speaker, Barbeque, sun loungers and high quality furnishings in a relaxed, rural setting.

We both loved this place. Zoe and Simon couldn't have been better hosts. Their communication was excellent, there was a lovely welcome pack (including cream teas and local cider), and the accommodation itself is beautifully converted and furnished, with a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and excellent shower. A great place to stay.

Another wonderful stay in paradise 🥰

Our 2nd visit this year! Beautiful cottage for our Honeymoon

The property was stunning, beautifully decorated and peaceful, exactly as described. Set in a quiet location with its own garden and paking and perfectly positioned for visits to the coast on all sides. Zoe was so helpful and easy to contact if we needed anything. It was the perfect place for our Honeymoon and we have wonderful memories to take home with us.

Perfect place the Piggery

We had a fantastic relaxing time away in this beautiful, comfortable well equipped property - Zoe & Simon were perfect hosts - unfortunately it was at the time of the start of Coronavirus and my husband had to go back to work early but once it’s all over we will definitely go back to finish visiting this outstanding area - the Piggery really is a wonderful place to stay thank you xx

Wonderful Cottage

Peaceful, charming, secluded retreat

From the moment we arrived we felt at home, and the relaxation was immediate! The Piggery has everything you could possibly want, is stylishly furnished and in an absolutely beautiful setting. We already miss the Piggery

We absolutely loved our stay at the Piggery, one of the most wonderful and comfortable cottages we ever stayed at. With floor heating throughout, a nice little stove, all modern conveniences, including fast internet, it was a very cozy place in the winter. A great base to explore the most southern part of Cornwall. Zoe was a wonderful host as well. We'd love to come back in the future!

Long weekend break

The Piggery is beautiful and well equipped with everything you could need. Zoe is very warm and welcoming and gave us a lot of tips about the local area. The main reason for our stay was to watch a show at The Minack Theatre. The Piggery is well situated and within a short driving distance. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this accommodation to others, honestly you won't be disappointed. We would definitely return in the future.

Perfect time in lovely cottage

We spent one week in May in this lovely, very well and tastefully converted former piggery. The location is very quite and peaceful and the owners Simon and Zoe are very kind and helpful. Lovely beaches (Porthcurno, Sennen), nice villages (Mousehole, St. Just, St. Ives, Penzance), are very close and the terrific South West Coast Path is only half an hour walk away. It is a good home base for walking several sections of the path, as it is for discovering beautiful Cornwall. The Cottage is very well equipped, with everything you need. We will come back!

Perfect In Every Way!

Perfect getaway accommodation in a perfect setting. We could use the word ‘perfect’ in every way to describe our experience as indeed it was just that. It truly was a most relaxing , chilled out holiday. The accommodation is to a very high standard and equipped with everything. A nice welcome basket on arrival too. It was a pleasure to sit out in the garden at dusk to watch the bats and listen to the owls. A beautiful, quiet retreat away from it all. We would definitely book again . Traumhafter Urlaub in wunderschönem Cottage

Unser Urlaub im wunderschönen Cottage The Piggery war absolut einzigartig. Simon und Zoe sind super nette Gastgeber die das Cottage mit ganz viel Liebe und Wärme ausgestattet haben. Sie Lage ist für Unternehmungen in Westcornwall sehr zentral, alles ist in unmittelbarer Nähe (Lands End, St Ives, Sennen und die traumhaften Strände von Pedn Vounder und Portcurno sind ganz nah) das Minack Theatre ist ein absolutes Muss. Es war ein rundherum traumhafter Aufenthalt mit jedem erdenklichen Komfort, die Scones, Eier und das Olivenöl war eine schöne Aufmerksamkeit von Zoe und Simon. Perfect retreat

The Piggery is in the perfect location - completely away from other tourists but with beautiful beaches within walking distance. The cottage itself is really well equipped, beautifully designed and a really relaxing atmosphere. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Heavenly hideaway

We were a little nervous about visiting Cornwall post lockdown but we couldn’t have picked a better holiday home. Zoe and Simon are lovely hosts who couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful. The piggery is such a high standard of property with everything you could possibly need and more than enough space for 2. The garden is sensational and even though we know Cornwall pretty well we found so much to explore nearby that we hadn’t visited before. Fantastic walks and coves straight from the front door and a welcoming space to come home to and relax in the evenings. It’s a perfect place to unwind.

Wonderful property

The attention to detail how The Piggery has been transformed from its original state is amazing. Everything has been thought of in the property, and the welcome basket was a really lovely touch. Its peaceful and secluded. The owners are very welcoming and incredibly helpful, but leave you to your own devices. Perfect Piggery!

This was our second stay in The Piggery and it was just as amazing as we remembered. The property is always immaculate and vey comfy. I think the shower is one of the best we've experienced in a holiday let. The various seating areas outside are great. The owners are lovely and always there to help you if you need anything. Its also in a perfect quiet location within easy reach of all the nearby attractions, beaches and towns. I would highly recommend The Piggery to anyone who wants to escape the stresses of everyday life.

Perfect stay at The Piggery

What a fantastic cottage! We just stayed at The Piggery for 3 nights. Zoë and Simon were super hosts from the first message after booking and throughout. They accommodate our late arrival and offered great tips as well as including some lovely touches in the cottages to welcome us. The Piggery is ideal! Log burner when it’s cold and rainy yet a beautiful outdoor area for the sun we were lucky enough to have too. Beautifully equipped kitchen and comfy lounge/bedroom with quick WiFi, DVD player and power shower. The location is spot on too. Sat nav easily finds it and you’re close to all the nearby sights and towns. We couldn’t have wished for a better/more relaxed stay and will certainly recommend and be back again :) thank you both for your hospitality and warmth!

I am a hairdresser, born in Cornwall . I lived away in London for several years but Simon and myself were fortunate enough to be able to return 20 years ago and bring up our 2 children back in the place we love. Simon is a carpenter and builder and has renovated this property and our house from derelict buildings.

Why they chose this property

Tresidder is a very special place. We bought the property 11 years ago and in that time Simon has transformed it to the beautiful place it is now. We love it for it's peace and tranquility and for being so close to nature.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with the property as we could see the potential for renovating it from an old piggery to a wonderful dwelling. You can see all the window reveals were once little doorways for the pigs. Inside were granite troughs which are now placed around our garden.
