Welcome to Hale Nihi Bed & Breakfast. We are located on Maui’s North Shore, on Baldwin Avenue in Historic Paia Town. Staying here at Hale Nihi B&B, you will enjoy the convenience of being within walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes, with access to post office, bank services, and yoga studios, while also having the opportunity to visit sites such as the Great Paia Peace Stupa (recently visited by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in April 2007) and the world-renowned surf spot, Ho’okipa Beach Park, along with some of Maui’s most beautiful sandy beaches.
Maui’s North Shore offers something for everyone! Whether you are seeking the steady warm trade winds for windsurfing and kite surfing, the consistent ocean swells generated by storms far to the North of the Hawaiian Islands, relaxed times soaking up the warm sun on a quiet beach with calm waters or simply driving around exploring the many diverse micro climates ranging from tropical lush rain forests with natural waterfalls to the cool moon-like landscape found at the summit of Haleakala, Hale Nihi B&B offers a convenient central location as your base.

Everything was great. Super easy check in and out. We were only here one night so it was super quick. Location was very convenient and things were clean and comfortable. We landed at the airport and spent the night here exploring Pa’ia.
This little cottage had everything we needed for a couple of days of exploring Paia and the beach. Easy walking distance to town and a much longer walk to the beach. Avis was very responsive and friendly.
We absolutely loved our stay in Paia, a cute, well thought out space that allowed us to walk everywhere. This is such a convenient location with the amenities for a wonderful stop along the Road to Hana. We couldn’t have been more pleased and would recommend!

Avis was a fantastic host, and her home was perfect. We enjoyed walking into town every morning for a cup of coffee and sitting on the private patio in the afternoon for drinks. I highly suggest staying in this home. Great location.

perfect local apartment
The apartment was small but had all necessary amenities and was perfect for 2 people. You are walking distance to restaurants, shops and the beach. Paia has a very low-key vibe, and it is a great place to relax.
Close to downtown, but quiet and a bit out of the way
It has everything you need for making light meals. The bed is comfortable. The internet works. It was spotless. Parking was three steps from the front door. Total privacy. What's to not like?

Clean, convenient to Paia, spacious
The owner was extremely personable with many suggestions of what to do but we never felt like she was imposing on us ( we started most conversation ). The property is walking distance to Paia. Perfect to explore the town or get a meal during the day without having to find a parking space. Room was extremely clean and spacious

Needs a quiet refrigerator: sleepless nights due to the closeness of the bed to the refrigerator. Now a days refrigerators are CHEAP and QUIET

Aloha Jose-Luis,
We sincerely regret any sleepless nights you may have experienced due to the proximity of the refrigerator to your bed.
I personally went to observe the refrigerator and there was absolutely no sound. We will continue to ck and observe the unit. And if necessary, we will have it serviced.
Our refrigerator is a recent addition, chosen for its top-notch 5-star quality and reliability. We understand the importance of a good night's sleep and apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Walking distance to Paia restaurants and shopping is the big appeal here. The room is nice and clean. It has the essentials but it isn’t anything spectacular. The air conditioner worked great and cooled the room quickly. The bed was good but the pillows were uncomfortable. Walls are a bit thin and neighbors woke me up a couple of times. Avis was quick to respond to messages.
Limited availability means don’t go lots of vagrants/deadbeats in location. No natural light in unit but bed comfy, hot plate useless and no electric kettle, and somebody kept fridge plugged in but turned off cool so our expensive shop wasted.

Aloha Peter,
Based on your comments, I'm sorry that you had a somewhat bad experience here at our home and in Pa'ia.
It's sad and unfortunate that we see homeless people in our Town and throughout our Island.
I apologize that the refrigerator was set on "low" which should have been noticed. The hot plate works well :) and yes, I do agree that an electric kettle would be much more efficient for a quick cup of hot water :) we will make sure to add one to the list!!!
Property was almost perfect for us. A little small, but met our needs. Only two issues for us were that the bed was probably not even a queen - I think it was a full - and that the walls are super thin. There are two rentals in this cottage and we felt we always had to he be so quiet, as we could hear the other couple next to us plain as day as well. Otherwise loved it. We sat at the little kitchen table a lot. The free movies on tv were a fun way to end the night. Shower is gorgeous. Quaint little studio. We walked into town often. There is a convenience store literally right next door that sells drinks and snacks. We fell in love with Paia and are so happy that by luck we ended up in this town. Avis, the owner, is super friendly and at your beck and call if you need anything. You have your own little table and chairs outside too and we sat out there often. There were beach towels and even fancy beach chairs with little drink coolers built right in. Loved having the garage that adjoined the cottage so you never got wet walking in (it rained a lot on our trip). Overall, very pleased.

Thanks for the 5 stars add honest comments! Just a note that the bed is a True “QUEEN” size. Sorry if it felt a bit small...
I’m glad you enjoyed your stay!!
Mahalo!
This property was an amazing find for a quick 2-night stay in Paia Town! It was extremely comfortable, clean, and stocked with so many amenities/touches that exceeded our expectations (including coffee/tea fixings, basic condiments, plenty of kitchen dishes/appliances/hot plate/etc., shower gel/shampoo, and extra linens). With limited accommodation options in this area, we were pleasantly surprised to find such a gem. Avis was so friendly and very quick to communicate when we had a couple of questions. Her care for and pride in this space is so evident. We loved the quick walk into the main stretch of town at our leisure, especially as parking down here is such a challenge. So easy and enjoyable. The only detail that I would be aware of prior to selecting this property is that the walls are very thin. If I recall, the listing reviews/details are very transparent on this point, and it is even discussed on the information sheet present in the unit. So not a surprise, but worth noting if this is something you can't get past. Even with very respectful neighbors, we could clearly hear conversation. If a family were staying with kids, etc., or if we had less considerate neighbors, this could have been a bummer. As it was, it was our only small complaint in what was otherwise a perfect stay, and we would 100% stay here again!
