The property is well located, in a picturesque setting. It is clean and comfortable and the hosts provided everything we needed for our 2 day stay. We were 8 friends and family guests, who stayed comfortably for 2 nights. We would recommend this property.

Absolutely beautiful home and property situated on a hill above Mahone Bay. The communication with owners, view, and surrounding environment were excellent. The house had many places within to gather, cook, eat, and relax and we had a wonderful time being together with family. There were also many great activities and restaurants in the area while the home itself was away from the hustle and bustle of Lunenburg in August, which we enjoyed. My one very minor comment is that the second bedroom has 2 queen beds so the house most comfortably holds 4 adults with extra bed space for children. I highly recommend this property for couples and families looking for the beauty and warm hospitality of the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

It was a well-stocked rental house, there was a LOT more recreation stuff than I knew and than we needed. This house would be great for a young family: Fooseball, kayaks, bbq, outdoor fire (beware NS fire rules…), large yard etc. Lunenburg restaurants are very good. It was a wonderful historical house, with all modern conveniences. I like the notes/directions/labels on everything, and the restaurant suggestions etc.

Lovely home providing a great base from which to explore the southern region of Nova Scotia. The rental had everything we needed: very comfortable beds, extremely well equipped kitchen and beautiful hilltop setting with view.

This property is amazing, everything you would need is on site. Very close to Lunenburg with all its attractions and great restaurants. Close to so many other places and beaches. Property owners were very accommodating and helpful. Great stay with family from across Canada.

Hilltop Retreat was an amazing quirky vacation home. It was lovely and clean and as viewed on VRBO. There was little instruction notes all over the house which helped to find things. We all enjoyed our stayI would highly recommend this property.

Everything was exactly like the listing. We had everything we needed to have a perfect 4 days at the cottage. The location was perfect for our outing adventures. However, just sitting on the long bench behind the couch with with a glass of wine enjoying the wonderful view was PERFECT.

Hilltop

We loved our stay at the Hilltop retreat. The architecture and design caught our attention, and the views out from the hilltop kept us enraptured. Proximity to Lunenburg amenities is great, and we enjoyed the farmer’s market nearby. Really a relaxing and lovely stay.

Excellent Experience

We are from Alberta and other family members were from Ontario. The property allowed us to be together and have a relaxing atmosphere to visit. We found these accommodations to be well stocked and very clean.
