Mountain Chic Cheyenne Cañon Cottage, Steps to The Broadmoor & Amazing Hiking!

The ultimate romantic hideaway, Hawthorne Cottage is located in a very quiet and safe enclave tucked back from the street in Cheyenne Canyon. This newly renovated and super clean unit is uniquely decorated with a contemporary cottage, organic vibe. A kiva fireplace provides the centerpiece of the inviting space, which also features radiant heated floors, a fully-stocked modern kitchen with a gas range and quartz countertops. Enjoy high quality linens in the cozy bedroom and luxurious towels in the beautiful bath, all equipped with radiant-heated floors.

The cottage is located directly across the street from a main trailhead, leading to hundreds of miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. The world-renowned Broadmoor Hotel is within a ten minute walk. Sacred Grounds Cafe, open for breakfast and lunch daily, is also open for dinner with live entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays.

Cheyenne Canyon is home to abundant wildlife, including deer, bear, raccoons, squirrels, a multitude of bird species and an occasional mountain lion (they stay clear of us!). As you'll read in the reviews, you will see many of these species on a daily basis right from the living room windows of the cottage!

Hawthorne Cottage has it's own private outdoor living space with a chaise, table and chairs and a grill. It is located next door to the charming Bella Cottage (see #501024 for reviews). The cottage has it's own entrance, patio area and off-street parking area.

We are "on-property" owners. We clean our cottages with the absolute highest level of care and cleanliness. We strive to provide an incredibly safe and relaxing environment for our guests.

Wonderful little cottage. Perfect stay for my wife and I will attending a conference nearby. Extremely quiet and peaceful. There wasn't a single thing that wasn't thought of at this location; anything you needed was available and the interior design of the cottage is very impressive; despite its size, it felt very spacious. Great location, spotless clean and comfy, has everything one needs for a comfortable stay. Shower has shampoo, conditioner, body gel, and lotion. Iron and an ironing board. A very nice touch was a few bottles of water in the fridge. The owner replies quickly. I didn’t have an umbrella, and they provided one right away. Highly recommended!

I stayed at Hawthorne Cottage during a conference that I was attending at the Broadmoor. The cottage was perfect for me. It was close to the hotel, had a very comfy bed for sleeping, and a peaceful ambiance. Once I figured out how to use the radiant heating thermostat, it was cozy and warm!

First time visiting Colorado for me. Second time for my fiancé. This place was very neat, clean and had everything you needed to stay comfortable. I will say, the heating was a little concerning. The home only had floor and one baseboard heater. Other than that, great stay!

Amazing place next to the Broadmoor AND hiking trails

Nicely located, quiet, and private. Go right across the street and you have tons of hiking trails, including the deer and other wildlife to enjoy your walk with. It’s a ten to fifteen minute walk to the Broadmoor so perfect for the conference I attended The owners were responsive and friendly, all while allowing us to maintain our privacy. Cozy and cute inside with everything you need. I loved the big goblet wine glasses! The owners provided lots of good tidbits of where to go and what places were good to eat at with accurate descriptions of ambience. Will definitely stay there again.

Let down

The pics looked great, and the reviews were great however bed and couch uncomfortable and difficult controlling temperature. No ac and first day it was unexpectedly hot. On cold days had to use bedspread to coverup while watching tv in living room to stay warm. Fireplace produced no heat and radiant heat was not enough to keep you warm.

Dear Michael, We are so very sorry and unaware of these issues. As you may recall reading in our list of amenities, Hawthorne Cottage has A|C units available during the warmer months and we have never had a request during the end of March, early April. In regards to the heat, there are multiple sources of making that cottage warmer so again, we are very are sorry that we never knew you were uncomfortable. Similarly, we have never had a complaint about the comfort of the couch or the bed and would gladly welcome specific intel so we may make such needed adjustments, as we strive to make each and every guest very comfortable. David, is from Southern California, but has spent the past thirty years in Colorado. We were recently married and share a passion for meeting our vacation rental guests. Our two vacation cottages are located on the property behind our personal home. We love the beauty of Cheyenne Canyon an enjoy hiking, tennis, pickleball and golf.

I have a passion for interior design and our two VRBO cottages provided a wonderful opportunity to be creative. The property is very unique, as it sits off the road in a quiet enclave with private parking and tons of wildlife. It is centrally located to all of Colorado Springs' most popular attractions, including Pikes Peak, Seven Falls, Garden of the Gods, the Olympic Training Center, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and The Broadmoor.
