Why stay in the city center of Rome when you stay in this charming spacious modern house, set on a hill in the farmlands between the Tiber River and the Sabine Hills. La Viridiana is a very spacious house with wonderful views of the river valley. Not available in apartments but totally available. The interiors are bright and sunny, simply furnished with traditional furniture. Swimming pool to the hills beyond. Huge umbrella pines and old olive trees dot the garden, where two vine-covered pergolas provide shady spots for lounging and dining al fresco. The area is packed with touring options, including several beautiful abbeys, the city of Viterbo. Even Rome is a possibility, with a direct line reaching 35 minutes.

In the lush farmlands at the foot of the Sabine Hills, just east of the Tiber Valley. 2. 5km / 1. 5 miles from the village of Cantalupo in Sabina with its castle and 5km / 3 miles from medieval Forano. Touring options include Viterbo, 30 minutes, the gorgeous abbey of Farfa and the four sanctuaries in the Holy Valley connected with St. Francis of Assisi. Tivoli and Orvieto are both reached in less than 1 hour.

Caretaker, who speaks a little English, and is an excellent cook. Services included in the rental fee, and optional services available.

Cantalupo in Sabina is reputedly the birthplace of the cantaloupe melon; the name of the village translates to 'song of the wolf'. La Viridiana lies about 50m / yards from Villa L'Uliveta, same owner, with the garden and several large trees in-between.
