The second room has a bunk bed, made up of a double bed at the bottom and a single bed on top. For the wee one, you will find a travel cot ready for use and can be set up in either room.
When the Scottish sun shines you can unwind on our outside terrace or chill out on the grass.
Country Nest uses oil to heat the central heating and hot water throughout the property. In addition to this we have a log burner in the lounge, with the use of a fan, circulates the heat from the stove throughout the property.

We had a wonderful stay. Beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the fire in the lounge room. We loved the rural setting whilst also doing a day trip to Edinburgh.
Lovely stay here, the home is clean and cozy. We enjoyed our stay, wanting for nothing. The main bedroom was a lovely surprise, much bigger than we expected & the bed was super comfortable. Thank you!

Nice place, location limited in resources
The place is super quaint and clean. Hosts very responsive and helpful. Not a lot in town to eat, the one pub was not recommended, so be sure to plan meals accordingly. Easy drive to train station. Parking was limited and a bit far away.
Beautiful cottage. Lovely décor very homely. Very comfy bed. Hot powerful shower. Kitchen well equip
Promt answers from host about check in. All very easy. Beautiful cottage inside. Cosy and comfy. Comfy bed. Good shower. Not much in village but easy to get to Glasgow or Edinburgh. Lanark heritage center well worth a visit. 20mins
This cottage was cozy, clean, and welcoming after making our long trip from busy London. It was the perfect home base for visiting family and exploring the area. Plus it’s right between Glasgow and Edinburgh for sightseeing in any direction.
We walked to the Apple Pie bakery everyday for coffee and to try whatever fresh pastries they had to offer that day.
The cottage had comfy beds, a fully stocked kitchen, plus a large table for games or sharing a meal and a relaxing living room area with the lovely fireplace.
Ian was very responsive. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for sharing this cottage with us!
Many Thanks to Ian&Kat
This dog friendly property is a bit far from the fringe events, but that was my error. The property itself and hosts are great. The two bedroom house is perfect for a family of three or four with pets.
We found the house immaculately clean, very well equipped and with lots of charming details (books, signs, bird food...). The bedrooms were cozy and really quiet, so we didn´t hear the rather busy street at all. The place is a perfect start for exploring the vicinity (Glasgow, Clydefalls, Owl centre, even the west coast). We can also highly recommend the Arms-Hotel, just 50 metres away. Good food, very nice and authentic people.
Thank you Ian and Kat for a wonderful time.
Lovely cottage in a quiet little village. Village has all the essentials. Pub, shop and cake shop!
Property is very well decorated and caters for all your needs. The enclosed back garden was great for our dog. He could have a little wander and a great park just at the back of the house!
Property very clean and comfortable. Shop and park nearby. Unfortunately nearest pub unfriendly and didn’t allow dogs. Overall good value for money and our expectations were met
We had an enjoyable time away! The property was comfortable and homely. Great park at the back of the property for dogs. Just pity about parking on the road but it wasn’t a problem! A short drive away if you want to go shopping. We headed for the New Lanark World Heritage Site! Brilliant! Fantastic weekend had by all!

Hi Karen, glad you had a nice time in Country Nest. Hope to host you guys sometimes soon. Kat & Ian x
Lovely, well equipped and cosy cottage. Perfect for a get away from it all break. The two bedrooms are very comfortable and airy. A great living/ dining room With a wood burning stove . We didn’t use it as the nights were warm but I’m sure we would have loved it had we visited in autumn or winter . The kitchen was lovely too and we loved cooking rather than going out for dinner after a long day of hiking . Location of the cottage makes it so easy to drive up to Edinburgh or Glasgow ( almost the same time to both the cities). The best part about the drive up to Edinburgh is the amazing views and the scenic route . We also did day trips to Inverness and Fort William ( 3 hour drive to either location from the cottage ) . We were at the cottage for 7 days and my family of 5 ( all adults ) and our labradoodle Rusty loved staying there . Certainly was more than home away from home .
Lovely, spacious cottage. Very clean with plenty of personal touches, it felt like a home from home. The owners have thought of everything you need for a short stay.
A great cottage. Spotlessly clean and much bigger than the photographs suggest. The owners have thought of everything and we really appreciated the little touches (e.g tinfoil in the drawer, a couple of dishwasher tablets, hand soap and shower gel in the bathroom, board games, OS msps etc etc).
We enjoyed participating in the quiz in the local pub, even though we came last and won the Smarties! The locals were really friendly and made an effort to chat to us and our children.
A great base for Edinburgh as well as the more local attractions.
We'd definitely recommend Country Nest.
