About this property
Beautiful dog friendly barn conversion for 4 near sandy beach and Padstow
The Linney is part of a fantastic barn conversion, sleeping 4 people. It is situated on our own working farm on the clifftops between the golden sandy beaches of Porthcothan Bay and Treyarnon Bay.
**We offer discounts for couples outside of school holidays - please contact me for more details**
A short walk over 3 fields will take you to the stunning South-West coastal path. We are only 10 minutes from Padstow by car, plus we are lucky to have our little village of St Merryn just 5 minutes away. We think we live in the most beautiful and tranquil area that Cornwall has to offer.
The Linney has a spacious open plan ground floor with kitchen, sitting, and dining areas. Upstairs is particularly light and airy with high pitched ceilings and open beams. There are 2 comfortable bedrooms - one double, one twin - as well as a family bathroom with basin, loo, bath, and separate shower. It has its own walled gated patio with picnic table and BBQ at the front which is the sunniest space on the whole of the farm. A particular winner with sandy dogs!
At the front there is also a shared outside area with a lawn and off-road parking spaces.

What a lovely place to stay!Very clean and well thought out accommodation. The beds are very comfortable. The cottage is situated very close to the costalPath and in between Porthcothan and Treyarnon bay. Family friendly with snack bars and toilets at both. Would stay here again x
We had a brilliant week in The Granary. A last minute booking, literally the day before we went! The house was perfect, very clean and had everything we needed. The little bar/food next door at the campsite was very handy. An ideal location for all of the nearby amazing beaches. We loved Porthconan beach which was a 10 minute walk away.

We are so glad you enjoyed your holiday. Thanks very much for staying and also for leaving the house immaculate. Much appreciated:)
Well appointed 2-bedroom property, close to spectacular coastline. Impressive storm surges, courtesy of Kathleen & Pierrick. Salt and Samphire is a good local eatery (St Merryn).
The property was well equipped and great having your own courtyard.location was excellent, quite, easy walking distance to beaches.great campsite next door with food and shop very friendly .
We usually camp but used this as a base due to time of year and it was perfect for us to explore from also walk the dogs .will definitely stay again .
Absolutely perfect! Lovely property. Excellent location, within walking distance to the beach - and a short drive (or walk) to three other wonderful beaches & Padstow.
Nice, secure patio outside too. Very helpful & friendly owners.
We didn’t want to leave and We will be back sometime …..
Super barn/cottage on a really well thought out site, with good facilities including a shop, food, a pub and laundry/showers, bonuses were the wetsuit shower, and doggy exercise field! Last camped here from 8 years to 16 years old, on family caravan holidays. 50 years later and this was a fantastic re-visit to a super site, beach and walks. We LOVED it! Thank You.
Great little house only 4 minutes drive to Treyarnon Bay. Very clean and tidy. I forgot to bring towels and a bath mat and George very kindly lent me one. Just what we needed at a good price.
Lovely property, well presented. Convenient for both Padstow and Newquay. Walk to Porthcothan Bay takes about 30 minutes along the coastal path. Our dog loved all the beaches we visited.
The front patio outside the cottage is a sun trap and we were lucky enough to have the weather.
St Merryn is 1 mile away with baker, convenience store and a couple of pubs.

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Host was alright. The standard of the barn was very good - clean, comfortable, warm, and we enjoyed our stay. What would have made it perfect was better attention to detail - such as a soap rack in the shower, washing up liquid provided avoiding rationing dishwasher tablets one per night (unnecessary parsimony). Also there was no information / provision for recycling. A missing added touch we have experienced elsewhere might have been a welcoming tea ready for us - a cake or scones and cream, some milk, some tea - or a bottle of wine. Those little touches make a difference. What would have also made a difference would have been a folder of local attractions, guide to amenities, shops, etc - again experienced in other holiday lets. There was little evidence of extra thought being given to the holiday renters' whole experience.

Maria was incredibly rude to my normally extremely friendly and affable husband- not even a greeting or a please/ thank you. If she is so ‘used to a much higher standard of service’ as she voiced to him, perhaps she should try Claridges rather than a self-catering (clues in the name) cottage at the budget end of the market with a rental cost under £500 for a weeks holiday. If she had bothered to look, there is a trug full of cleaning products under the sink including fairy liquid. We always put a large handful of dishwasher tabs ready- ie at least a tab per day for your stay (whole boxes tend to go walkies!). There is a carefully written guide to the local area in the leather folder in the sitting room which I update every year. My advice to Maria is perhaps think about changing your attitude. Being polite and friendly costs nothing but pays dividends. Treat people as though they are beneath you, and get what you deserve.
Very clean and in good condition. Everything you needed was included plus a bottle of Prosecco. Next to a caravan park with access to their facilities. Would stay again.

Thanks for staying Chris. so glad you enjoyed your holiday!
Husband and I stayed for 1 week with 2 friends joining us for last 3 nights. Perfect accommodation, near lots of lovely beaches and about a 15 min walk to coast path. The Linney was extremely well presented and equipped. We were thrilled with our find!
Great location, near to some top areas of North Cornwall. Great cliff top walks, Portcothen Beach was fantastic.
