Lovely family trip!

We brought our young children and we all loved staying here! We walked around the property every evening and the back porch was perfect for morning coffees and family dinners. The hospitality details provided her were some of the best we have experienced. We would definitely come back!

Beautiful getaway

The owners of this property have thought of everything you could want or need for a comfortable stay. The house is beautifully laid-out, hot tub was in excellent clean condition, property was beautiful and the hot springs was 5 min away. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our girls weekend.

Perfect family spot!!

Our family absolutely loved our stay! We had so many laughs and meals together on the huge deck. Jo thought of everything you could possibly need. The house was amazing and peaceful. My kids (in their 30s) all acted like kids again out in the meadow and creeks. We can't wait to come back and relax again!!

A great place to relax with friends and/or family

This house and back patio are great for a group of 6 to 12 people. The back patio has a grill, hot tub and relaxing view of a meadow and small streams. Jo was great to work with and prompt in her reimbursement of our deposit.

We appreciate your review. FYI, we just added a new gazebo for additional covered seating. We can now offer seating for up to 30 persons. We've laid flagstones for a brand new seating area at the end of the deck for the fire pit. For those relaxing moments, we've added riggings for some hammocks & hanging chairs under cottonwood trees, down in the meadows, all next to creeks or ponds. We're also in the process of setting up a horseshoe throwing area. We plan to make new and exciting improvements each season. Thanks again for coming.

Amazing Property!

Jo has thought of everything for the house! No need to bring any shampoo or body wash, it is provided. We have never stayed at a house with a kitchen as stocked as this one. Every utensil you need is provided as well as spices. The property is absolutely amazing! We spent so much time with our little one exploring the property.

Buena Vista is a beautiful place to relax on vacation

Home was nicely furnished and very clean. Kitchen was well stocked with good quality small appliances and accessories. Thank heavens for the nice large covered deck with hot tub/outside shower, in which all the bedrooms open up on to. It rained everyday we were there. Didn't get to explore much of the property due to the rain and mosquitoes. Overall, a comfortable home for a family vacation that is close to town and easy to locate.

40th reunion class

Property is very well appointed for cooking and dining inside or out on the large deck that overlooks a tranquil forested meadow. It made a great central point for our extended group to coordinate from and the 8 of us who stayed there all had glowing reviews. A couple of them plan to book again for family get togethers, which is a strong endorsement in itself. Thanks for all your assistence Jo and Hettie and Johnny!

Incredible property with many entertainment options

This place is beautiful. The backyard is expansive and includes a tiered drop off with several streams running through. The back deck includes lounging areas, fire pit, hot tub, canopy, etc. The house is very nice, clean, and can sleep a lot of people. You have your own 15 acre slice of heaven at this place but are only 2 miles from downtown Buena Vista. The owner is very easy to deal with and extremely accommodating. Very highly recommended!

What a wonderful and serene experience. This property is absolutely beautiful and within close proximity to many fun adventures. The house is very well maintained with so many amenities it made our stay extraordinaryly comfortable. The kitchen alone was amazing. (Better than my own.) Comfortable. Clean. Beautiful. Very satisfied. Lots of room. Private. Good location for access to groceries and other entertainment. House is excellently equipped. We thought it was closer to monarch mountain based on VRBO’s listing that it was only 15 miles/minutes o the mountain but it wasn’t a big deal.

Amazing property and owners

We were greeted with complimentary farm fresh eggs, coffee, soaps, shampoos and conditioner. At a great price we were even also offered fresh beef from the farm and it was absolutely impeccable. The property is literally minutes from downtown, shopping and dining and minutes from Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. The property was so cozy, the hot tub was a nice touch and the views from the front of the property were breathtaking. Communication was great and all questions were answered in a very timely manner. I have never stayed in a more well kept vrbo. We would definitely book again and would recommend this to any large group that is looking to get away to Buena Vista

Beautiful and very unique home

I have stayed in many homes over the years and this was my favorite. It was very unique, beautiful (inside and out) and large. Very large porch overlooking creeks and beautiful greenery. The kitchen, living room, and dining room were spacious and renovated. This is a fantastic home for a large group of people who enjoy sharing time together, relaxing, and having a homebase for all the beautiful mountains for all the activities that Buena Vista has to offer. I strongly encourage this house to others and will definitely come back in the future if I need a large house.

Pleasant Home with Very Nice Outdoor Space

Had a very nice stay. Jo was a great hostess and she was very accommodating. The working ranch feel is fun! Would have liked the front bedroom to have more privacy as it has windows/glass doors with only lace coverings. There are only 4 bedrooms. The extra beds are in common areas. Would love to see a disposal installed. It’s a great place for 2-3 couples. Proximity to town and mountain activities makes it a good location, but don’t expect vistas and views. This home is more the cozy type. The back deck area is superb; especially in the summer.

Renovated cabin, Clean, up to date,well-equipped and well maintained.

The appearance, atmosphere and charm of the house was outstanding. The natural beauty of the lower Meadow areas, stream and pond were as beautiful if not more so than described. The first morning there I saw a large Elk wandering through the meadow grazing, and as I walked through myself a large Hawk flew through toward the stream. Our whole group enjoyed the stay immensely. The rooms were large and the beds very comfortable. The owner was a pleasure to deal with, quick in responding through the booking process and with the few questions we had while we were there. If anyone was to ask me if I would recommend staying here to someone else I would have to say that before our first day was over, we were talking about plans to come back again.

Repeat visit

I have stayed here previously with other family members and everyone enjoyed the area and of course our accommodations. My house is spacious and comfortable and very friendly. The surrounding property is beautiful with the streams, Meadows and wildlife that occupy it. It makes for a truly wonderful experience. We came this time and had several of the members who have not been here before, their comments on the house and the grounds were the same. It was most enjoyable and beautiful. The staff and Jo as the owner were very accommodating and very easy to work with in any situation. We highly recommend anyone looking to stay in the area consider this has their accommodations!

I fell in love with this property the first time I saw it. I knew it was not only my "forever place", but knew it would make a great retreat for others. So I over the course of 3 years, I restored original douglas fir hardwood floors, totally remodeled the kitchen with granite counter tops & tile floors, added a large deck & hot tub, painted every building inside & out, planted lots of trees & flowers & added brand new furnishings, including custom-made leather couches & hand knotted imported rugs throughout home. The original home was built in the early 1900's & was added onto in the 80's, 90's & 2013. This property was originally a cattle ranch. This ranch is currently a working ranch with cows & chickens. (We take our cows to open range during the summer season.) My favorite part of this property is the meadowlands behind house; it makes me feel like I entered into another world, completely private and natural.

Why they chose this property

This house is not only represents a piece of Buena Vista history, but it was updated with the best & most comfortable amenities available. We want you to enjoy as many comforts of home as possible. If we don't have it, please let us know what you would like to enjoy next time. The coolest thing about this property is that it is actually the greenest, lushest place in the area with 5 creeks that run through the land. The grasses get super tall & vibrant, while the wildlife abounds. You would think you were in the woods, but you're really close to town.

What makes this property unique

There's a real tipi surrounded by huge cottonwood trees to enjoy . On a hot day, feel free to take a dip in any creek. Roast marshmallows at one of our camp fire pits, as long as there are no fire restrictions. Enjoy many local birds at our feeders. You can actually watch annual Forth of July fireworks show from front yard. We currently have a pair of horned owls, a duck family as well as lots of deer, raccoons, squirrels & many surprise visitors.
