Whitby is host to Goth weekends, the famous Dracula Trail, boat trips from the harbour, an excellent fish and chip restaurant and three miles of beautiful, sandy beach stretching to picturesque Sandsend, and within easy reach is pretty Runswick Bay, and the quaint smuggler’s coves of Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes. Take the steam train across the North York Moors through ‘Heartbeat’ country to Pickering. Fishing and golf can be found nearby.
