As a city dweller, I wanted my first time on the East Coast to be memorable and capture the nature and peacefulness I envisioned and desperately desired. Sitting on the deck watching the sunrises and sunsets, or sitting inside watching the waves and being thrilled by the wind and the rain, Doug's modern and pleasant cottage was the perfect retreat to be lulled asleep by the waves and the ocean breeze at the end of the day.
The murphy bed was very comfortable, the facilities were great. All that was needed was a working lightbulb for the lamp beside the bed.
I definitely recommend Doug and his cottage, as Doug is pleasant to communicate with and is very informative of the island and its sites and activities.
Thank-you, Doug!
This was the perfect getaway for a tired couple looking for calm, relaxation, and quiet. The Sandy beach…a 10 minute walk away, was deserted and pristine. The amenities in St. Peter’s Bay were fun and fit on right in with our needs. Highly recommended for that perfect getaway with a loved one.
My Wife and I had a wonderful trip in PEI. The location and home exceeded our expectations. Doug was very responsive with the few questions we had. Highly Recommended
The cottage is located on a quiet lane and overlooks the ocean. The rocky beach is steps away and cable head beach is a 15 minute walk away
Washer/dryer, dishwasher and convection oven, comfy bed, big windows, bird watching and starting gazing. All boxes ticked! (We were visited by an eagle twice!)
Doug’s delightful cottage was just what we were looking for - a quiet, well appointed retreat from the busy world of to-do lists and daily demands. The sounds of the sea, star filled nights and peaceful rhythms of ocean life were life affirming and quiet reminders of the nature’s enduring beauty. “Don’t just do something, sit there and be renewed”. And we were.
This cottage has a (multi) million dollar ocean view. It’s located on a small cliff just above the ocean and it’s amazing to wake up to this everyday. One of our favourite spots on the island was the sandy beach just at the end of the road (you can walk for kms and kms). The cottage has everything you need: a fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, clothes washer/ dryer and spacious bathroom. It was bigger than we expected and more than enough space for the 2 of us (we left the Murphy bed down the entire time). The WiFi was spotty given it was wireless although it’s probably the best option available in the area. Unfortunately the flies made the outdoor seating area unusable except when a strong wind was blowing but it might have been a bad year for flies (or you might be more mosquito resistant). Doug was a great host and promptly answered any messages. He offered us some great recommendations on both lobster dinner and deep sea fishing. We would love to return to PEI and this cottage.

My wife and I spent three nights in this great location on the ocean. The property was very clean, well located, and the owner was great to deal with. The property had everything we needed for a private, romantic stay. We highly recommend a walk on the beach to the dunes. Dinner at The Inn at St Peters is also a must. We would definitely come back the next time we come to PEI.

SPACIOUS Tiny Perfect Cottage!
We were looking for peace, quiet and privacy and the cottage provided all of that. The cottage and its situation were exactly as shown in the photos. Even though it is a "Tiny" cottage, it was very spacious for the two of us, even though, when not walking the beach, we mostly had to stay inside due to the unseasonally cold weather. We expected cool weather in the pre-season (mid-May), but there was a fierce, cold North wind blowing most of the time! And apparently snow, though not where we were. The panoramic views of the ocean from the multiple sliding doors were great. We had little desire to leave the area (one sightseeing drive) other than a couple of trips to the grocery store.
It was unfortunate that, due to the cold, we were not able to take advantage of the spacious deck around the house, nor keep the doors open to let in the air and the wave and bird sounds. It must be gourgeous in the warm summer weather.
We took advantage of the beach for numerous walks. The rocky beach in front of the cottage was beautiful and interesting to walk, which we did most days, and the sand beaches, to the east and in nearby Greenwich park to the west were a bit easier on our winter legs.
I found the Murphy bed very comfortable. We have been thinking of putting one into our guest room but this was the first time that we had slept on one. I forgot to check what the mattress was - it worked well.
The only reason that the cottage did not get 5 stars was due a a water issue that was fixed, but testing results did not come in until after we had left. We managed OK though.

Extremely relaxing vacation
We enjoyed a wonderful week at Doug's home near St. peters Bay. There is a complete absence of "man made" noise and one is left with the sound of water, wind, and birds. The property is large and the closest neighbors are quite a distance away.
The cottage is clean, functional and well equipped. It is air conditioned which is useful since the large floor to ceiling windows generate a lot of hear on sunny days .

Couldn't ask for a better two weeks by the sea.
We had the vacation we had always dreamt of and more. Wonderful and wide view of the ocean. Very private beach front lot. Long sandy beaches with warm water. So quiet you could hear the birds sing all day long. Saw herons, osprey, hawks, bald headed eagles, a golden eagle, varieties of shore birds and woodland birds as well as a seal, a fox and a rabbit. All the comforts of home. Slept well on great mattresses. Plenty of windows for view and sea breezes plus air conditioning when needed. Well designed cottage with modern amenities. Communication with Doug was excellent. St. Peter's Bay, Morell, Souris and Charlottetown were close by for food and shopping. Left feeling rested and at peace. We intend to return next year.

Wonderful place to escape!
The house was a wonderful place to escape to for our vacation! The house was the perfect size for the two of us and very clean. The view couldn't be better with all the glass doors. The house was also in a great location near PEI National Park with trails and beaches. Doug was easy to work with and he promptly responded to any questions we had. We had one issue with the AC unit towards the end of our week, but Doug took care of it immediately. We definitely hope to go back!

Perfect Spot
My wife and I stayed at Doug's place for 7 nights and had a very memorable experience. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. The view is spectacular. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing spot, it's tough to beat his place. Would recommend this property to anyone. Doug was also very responsive and helpful, even providing us with recommendations for great restaurants and activities.

Spectacular view
We've stayed at lots of PEI cottages. This one had the best view of the ocean. Directly facing the Atlantic, the cottage brought the sky and sea right up close. The Atlantic also brought us lots of strong winds and two remarkable storms, including a thunderstorm. It's in a wild spot, rather than a calm and protected one. However, the cottage itself is very civilized, with a comfy bed, nice appliances and dishes, and a good shower. The wifi didn't work while we were there, and cell phone coverage was spotty. Prepared for that, work wise, we would definitely return. My one suggestion for improvement is a storage shed, so the cushions for the outdoor furniture don't need to be inside when it's windy. They take up a lot of room in a small space. Overall, excellent!

I couldn't stop smiling!
Expect tiny but gorgeous! Sunrise and sunsets are glorious. We wanted to decompress and the secluded location was perfect. We had our own beach. It felt like a slice of heaven! Thanks Doug - great host. Made sure we had all we needed.

An unforgettable getaway!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This cottage has everything a small family needs to have some quiet time in a beautiful place. We appreciate the modern architecture and the minimal, well-chosen furnishings.
The views are spectacular - we saw fantastic starry skies and vivid sunsets. The location is really perfect. Two nearby sandy beaches and the property's rocky shore allow for long walks and little adventures. There is a nearby village where you can pick up the freashest fish and delicious ice cream.
We will certainly want to stay at this cottage again the next time we visit PEI!
