Just Right

The house was BEAUTIFUL, PERFECT AND COZY. The kids LOVED the game room at the lower level of the home. Home was VERY CLEAN, property management was VERY Nice and friendly. Lake was walking distance from the home and great distance from stores, snow play and food places. This was. PERFECT VACATION home for our Family!

Perfect Big Bear Home!

This is our favorite Big Bear home to date! It's very well-maintained and cared for, which is not always the case with Big Bear rentals. We loved the open floor plan (you can cook and watch kids in the living/dining room) and the game room in the basement, so the adults could watch tv and be louder after the kids' bedtime. Everything was very user-friendly (code to enter home rather than keys, all light switches labeled, etc). The neighborhood is wonderful and quiet. The owner was incredibly helpful and accommodating. We would return in a heartbeat! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The home had more than enough space for all of us . The bbq grill had enough propane and they even had a spare tank just Incase you run out. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean! Which was great for us all. We took a neighborhood walk and discovered the lake. It was a perfect day out about 80 degrees. Overall fantastic booking. Close to town and great communication with property management. We would definitely book again with them.

Poor cleaning

Im very frustrating with this house and the management First it all, the house was not clean the way that should be, specially with covid When we check in the property management told me that i need to wash all the dishes, pots, etc I get very surprise first because if the price of the house, then because of covid.How you can trust that the guest are going to clean everything good?, what about sanitization ? So when we get at the house, we start preparing lunch and all the utensils were dirty, with food, totally disgusting.I contact the management and she inmediatly started to argue with me( by text), that was water spot on the utensils and plates, glasses... all The she sent the housekeeping, an hour later Because of the poor cleaning house proceed i decido to startd cleaning the whole house! Because of we were waiting for 2 friends we stayed at the house, if not we were living on the moment that we discover how dirty was, with no sanitization of course. The barbecue was so dirty ider !! I need a refund, im going to fill a complain in regards of the covid sanitization with the city, this is an acceptable in this time with covid. This management is a disaster I have texts and pictures with me Im going to send a formal letter in the next few days Thanks

Hello there. I am writing this response as this review is inaccurate at best. When Lorena checked in, she was rude to the check in agent. She was very upset that she had to wash dishes upon departure, even though it is stated that it is a requirement in the contract that was signed. When she received a text message from Jennifer the day prior to arrival, she requested early check in at 12pm. We accommodated that request. At check in, she demanded late check out. We could not accommodate that request as the owners were coming in. She then proceeded to tell Jennifer that she had gotten the request approved through VRBO. Jennifer went through everything with her stating that VRBO can not approve check in/check out. We gave her an extra hour at check out as a courtesy. When she arrived at the house, she sent 15 photos of water spots on utensils, a still wet glass serving dish, and a rust stain in a pan. We offered to send housekeeping over as soon as able to take care of the issue, as well as a bundle of firewood for the inconvenience of the fireplace still having ash in it. Other than the fireplace, the house was spotless. She had no other complaints. She even told my housekeeper while she was there how nice the house looked other than the fireplace. She berated my housekeeper while she was there demanding that she come and perform daily housekeeping services. A service we do not provide. With how rude, and volatile this guest was, she never once mentioned that the house itself was dirty. We pride ourselves on our cleaning standards, and make sure the house is sanitized per covid standards.

We had a great Thanksgiving and really enjoyed the house as it had something for all 3 generations. Would highly recommend this house for anybody traveling to Big Bear!

Deceptive picture

We stayed there because of the game room. The pictures are deceiving. The ceiling is less than 6ft high. My husband at 6’ had to lean down and my daughters’ boyfriend is 6’6”. Hugh problem

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our first (whole) family getaway. I arrived first to check in and check out the home. I was extremely satisfied. The house is beautiful and was perfect for our family. I was so excited for everyone else to arrive and watch their expressions as they did. The home was clean and comfortable and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed the foosball, horseshoes, pool table and jacuzzi (even though only two in our party got in). We didn’t do too much cooking at all but noticed that the kitchen was very well equipped with everything you needed. We made some great family memories and this may become an annual trip, if possible. The only damper was the mattresses in all of the bedrooms. As everyone woke up the first morning, it became clear that no one slept well. However, we were up late each night and on the go early and we caught back up on our sleep once we got home. The hot water for showers was fairly nonexistent as well but it was hot during our stay so a cooler shower wasn’t too horrible. Check in and check out were smooth and we didn’t have any issues during the stay so there was no other interaction with the management. We have already recommended this home to two other families. It really is a beautiful and welcoming home!

A Relaxing Retreat

Knollwood Retreat was the perfect setting for a couple of days away from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives. The check-in process with Thomas at A-Kenn's Key & Lock was super-easy, and the house was clean and beautifully appointed. There are easy-to-follow instructions for everything (though the volume for the TV was a challenge), and all the essentials were provided. We would definitely stay there again!
