The Neighborhood:
Aberffraw (said: Ab-ER-frow) is a slice of paradise on Anglesey's west coast — dunes, a Snowdonia backdrop in the distance, and a coastal walk that starts right from your doorstep.
It's a proper hit with dogs, horse riders and families. The beach, Traeth Mawr, is a huge sandy bay backed by dunes, easy on the legs for a beach ride or a long dog walk. A small shop and Llys Llewelyn tea rooms, known for homemade cakes, cover the essentials. A short walk along the coast brings you to the Church in the Sea, St Cwyfan's, perched on its own tidal islet — genuinely magical at low tide, with views out to Bardsey on a clear day.
Getting Around:
On-site parking included. It’s a quiet, coastal village with no nearby train station, so we recommend having a car to explore the rest of Anglesey.
Other Things to Note:
An AHL Damage Waiver is included as standard with every booking. It’s there to protect the property and give you complete peace of mind, covering accidental damage up to £250, so that if something happens, it doesn’t cast a shadow over your stay.
Towels & Bedding: Linens and bath towels provided (please bring your own beach towels)
Did you know:
We offer booking extras to make your stay even better. Our Extended Stay Refresh* brings fresh linens, new towels, made beds and a quick bathroom reset. *Available on selected properties within our portfolio.
Don’t forget:
Booking with AHL gets you fabulous, unique discounts at eateries, attractions, and shops such as Rib Ride, Zip World, and Sandy Mount House to name a few.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

We had a lovely week in the cottage, it had everything we needed and was very comfortable and cosy. The location is great with a nice cafe just across the street, a pub round the corner, a village shop and easy access to the beach.

Lovely Comfortable stay
Bwthyn Branwen is in a perfect spot in Aberffraw with the tea rooms also food is a delight . We found the cottage comfortable & bedding lovely and clean along with the bathrooms. The only thing that I was disappointed with was the state of the lounge carpet, two nasty stains
Had another great stay here.
As usual everything was perfect we love this place will be back thanks.

A comfortable base to explore the island
The accommodation is very comfortable for a stay on Anglesey. The near-beach location is ideal for dog walkers and we find it very convenient to access all the island without travelling too far. The kitchen is well stocked for utensils and the beds are comfy. It must be good as we've been coming for 20 years or so and have booked again already for next year!

What a shame
It was a shame that it wasn't very clean at all the walk in bathroom
smelt. Also I mentioned.that the heating wasn't coming on but it took 2 more days before any one came to it .Being disabled I feel the cold more

We’re disappointed and sorry to hear this feedback. The property was thoroughly cleaned ahead of arrival, including professionally cleaned carpets, and we weren’t made aware of any cleanliness concerns during the stay.
We were contacted on the 4th, the day before your departure, regarding the heating and the issue was attended to and resolved within an hour. We had understood everything was then working as expected.
We do however appreciate you taking the time to share your comments and thank you for your feedback.

Really nice cottage
A really nice cottage; good customer service from the agency too. Clean and relatively new appliances and comfortable stay.
The heating did struggle to cope at times; heat exchangers are known for this unless a property is completely draught free.
Would go again and recommend to others.

Short break
Had a brilliant few days in this cottage, we were so lucky with the weather and the walk down the estuary leads to the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. We used the charger for our car without any issues, cannot think of anything negative about the cottage perfect for us, we have booked again for 2025 to explore North Wales further.

The Perfect Base for an Anglesey Holiday
This is the second time that we’ve stayed at the property for our summer holidays. It’s perfect for us (a family of three, though the property sleeps four). It is lovely and clean, has two gorgeous bathrooms-really handy when everyone gets home from the beach and has an electric car charge point which is always available. It’s close to the beach and coastal path in Aberffraw, so you can do some lovely walks or runs right from your doorstep. Newborough beach is nearby and Trearddur is just up the road. I’d highly recommend Bythwn as a place to stay!
