Location... Location... Location... this is the most important part of your visit to St. Thomas. Your vacation home is at Cabrita by the Sea located on a peninsula in the Carribean Sea at the far eastern end of St. Thomas. The island's east end is referred to as Red Hook, and features a town of red-tiled roof homes and businesses dotting a rolling coastline that overlooks Pillsbury Sound and the island of St. John and the British Virgin Islands. No crowds, no traffic, just peace and quiet with a beautiful down island view of the British Virgin Islands. With your condo facing northeast, the trade winds will put you to sleep each night and cool you off during the afternoons. Relax, sit on your balcony and watch the Charter Yachts hoist their sails each morning before sailing off to visit the islands to the east.

This great property is minutes from the Ritz Carlton, St. Thomas resort and the powder white beach and turquoise waters of Great Bay. (Beach towels provided in condo) If you are looking for adventure there are a plethora of activities to be pursued such as kayaking, windsurfing, scuba diving, sailing, and sport-fishing. The American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook is home to numerous charter boat companies and dive shops, including powerboat rentals, fishing boats, and sailing vessels. Charter your own vessel and plan a custom island itinerary to truly experience the sparkling turquoise waters of the Carribean. The harbor at Red Hook also provides ferry service to the neighboring islands of St John, Tortola and the rest of the British Virgin Islands.

Several restaurants are located in Red Hook to suit any palette, or stop by Food Center (10 Min.West of Redhook) for some fresh groceries and cook your own meal. After dinner enjoy a relaxing evening at home or head out for some island night life at Duffy's Love Shack, The Carribean Saloon or enjoy the great views at Island Time Pub.

Great amenities in great location. Nice and quiet and relaxing to be on the beach. There's also a super friendly local orange tabby cat named Mango who is super friendly.

Everything was great! Peaceful spot, wasnt bothered by anyone. Whole area was private and secluded but also had some areas close to eat at. Host was wonderful with some places to get fresh fish in the area. Has awesome views but not an actual swim beach. You can go into the ocean its just on the rocky side.
If your a golfer there are a few holes to hit a ball around in your extra time

This is an excellent property with a wonderful and responsive host. The property is close to Red Hook (5 minute drive). There are several locals beaches that are just a 2 minute drive away. The property itself has everything that we needed. It is right on the water so you'll hear the waves every night and can look out on the boats coming in and out with your morning coffee. Just a great starting and ending point for each day in St. Thomas. Highly recommended!

Beautiful waterfront location with lovely grounds! The unit was clean with everything required for a comfortable stay. The bed was so comfy I wanted to bring it home! Easy drive to Redhook. Muller bay beach is walkable from the rental. There was a large gathering there one weekend night and was so crowded that it made it difficult to pass to return to the unit. I did snorkel there the next day and saw a large ray and an assortment of fish! I would highly recommend this rental!

Fantastic little place by the ocean

It’s not on a swim beach but there’s plenty of that close by. It is in a great location, close to Red Hook for activities and catching a ferry to St John. So close to many of the beautiful beaches on the eastern half of the island. Also a fantastic place to grab your favorite beverage and sit on the deck and watch the boats come in and out of the marina. It was quiet and well kept. My wife and I enjoyed this place and would definitely stay here again.

Great stay and host

I stayed for a couple nights while on island. I reached out the day of check in to see if early check in was a possibility and received a reaponse very timely. Upon arriving the onsite property checked to ensure all was to my satisfaction. Very clean. Great views and location and overall a very comfortable stay. Would stay here again

Location!

Loved the sound of the waves, watching the ferries and boats go by, the easy drive into Red Hook, the beaches, the rainbows! Highly recommend a stay here. It was lovely❤️

Honeymoon hideout

If you’re looking for a low key and quiet part of the island to stay, this will be perfect for you. We loved our stay. Being close to the water was an absolute dream and would stay here again! Shout out to the lovely neighbor who was such a gem during our stay!

It was a great place to stay. Available beach towels and beach chairs was a plus. My only disppointement was all the additional that increased the location price substantially like not only clean up but host fee, insurance 15$ per day, taxes … Kind of creating extra costs to compensate for the low location price initially proposed

Vacation

My husband and I loved our stay here. It was a perfect location for us. My husband loved fishing on the beach right by the condo. The views were beautiful. Jackie ( housekeeper) lives next door and was super helpful with recommendations. They also gave us a bottle of wine for our 25th Anniversary. We will definitely stay here again!

Restful retreat

This is our second time at cabrita by the sea.it’s perfect for those who want relaxation and quiet. We loved linguist beach ,we enjoyed it with barely anyone each morning from 8-11. We drank our pina colada’s on the balcony nightly . The crashing waves is a lullaby .deer out front at night .we rent a car to be able to go at will , enjoyed the beaches daily and the condo nightly.we love it at Maxine’s

Amazing location

My husband and I recently returned from an unforgettable vacation in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where our stay at Cabrita by the Sea was nothing short of perfect. The stunning ocean views from our accommodation were matched only by the comfort of our bed. The location was, as they say, "on point" (pun intended). This rental has everything one could need for either a relaxing getaway or an adventure-filled holiday. The decor is tastefully done, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. It truly was an ideal vacation destination. We are already looking forward to staying here again on our next visit. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the host and her delightful housekeeper for making our stay truly extraordinary!

Amazing!

Wow! What an amazing condo! Everything needed was already there. Snorkeling gear, a cooler, bug spray etc... The condo was very clean and beautiful. It was secluded from the busyness of town. We loved watching the boats and ferries come in and out of the harbor while having our morning coffee on the back patio. There was a binder in the unit that was full of useful information also! We loved our stay here!!

Spectacular view

We spent perfect week at Cabrita by the Sea. Check in was super easy.. The apartment has everything you need for cooking.. Also there are snorkeling equipment, beach towels , cooler, etc. The view from the balcony is so gorgeous you don't want to leave the place! Location is great- 10 min to the Red Hook town by the car. Several beaches are couple of minutes drive. Our favorite beach was Secret Harbor- 10 min drive, great for snorkeling, has very nice restaurant with the best sunset view. We will definitely come back and recommend Lisa's place to our friends. Thank you Lisa for being a great host!

We loved everything ,the view was spectacular ,the surround sound of the waves ,a lullaby

It was a perfect rest and relaxation ,so much that all our afternoon plans ,we cancelled as we enjoyed the condo so much.we hit sapphire bay ,Megan’s bay ,hidden harbor ,coco beach .we enjoyed those early mornings and headed in by 2,we bought our rum and pina colada mix and stayed safe as driving on the other side of the road takes lots of attention..you could walk to the ritz beach and another within minutes ,enjoyed deer in the yard at night .we would stay here each time and are considering it for next spring .the info they supplied was very informative.next time we will venture to beaches we passed on .all in all it was wonderful .Thank you.and rescue folks ,you can transport animals from the humane society to the mainlands if you are so inclined 🦋I would suggest a jeep if you are renting a car as there are some steep hills .the property manager was great as well as the neighbors 💜

Cabrita by the Sea, St. Thomas, VI, Heaven on Earth!

My husband and I rented this one bedroom condo in Red Hook for five weeks. It was a glorious surprise. The unit had an expansive view of the bay-with the coming and goings of the ferries, rainbows, and cloud formations. A deck sits only 5o feet from the water! It doesn't get any better than this. There is a nice full kitchen complete with a oven, stove top, microwave and refrigerator. The bathroom was recently remodeled and the king-sized bed was quite comfortable.There was also a convertible bed in the living room. Secret Harbor and Sapphire Beach were my two favorite destinations for swimming. There was no fee and the water was calm and beautiful. The rental agent was very responsive, helping us the first day of our check-in. Maxine, the owner, has a closet full of floats, beach chairs and snorkeling gear. This rental is best suited for 2-3 people and a car rental is a must! Perfect for a romantic get-away or honeymooners!!!

Easy access to everything

We were looking for a less expensive place to stay for our week to St Thomas. This property has gorgeous views of Red Hook and the Cays although the No-see-ums and mosquitoes made it difficult to enjoy the outdoor space. It probably depends on the direction of the wind for how the bugs are. It’s in a quiet condo association with what seemed to be a mix of people living there long term and vacation rentals. There was a family staying next door who were very quiet. We could hear the people staying above us at different times, but never any noise that was disruptive. Overall a good budget rental with close proximity to some great places. The condo is in fair condition and for the price is a great place to be based out of. It’s so close to Red Hook, Secret Harbor, and walking distance to the beach at the Ritz. We did not spend a lot of time there other than sleeping and cooking a handful of meals. All the necessities are provided - cooler, snorkel gear, beach chairs, beach towels, umbrella, and even sunscreen and some toiletries.

Not worth the disappointment

Unfortunately this property and owner/local management were a complete disappointment. Upon arrival the place was very dirty, not just from the last guest but there was hair and dust in the bathroom floor that wasn't cleaned for weeks, the fridge was dirty, hair on the bedsheets and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Not to mention there wasn't a comforter on the bed. I had to reach out to Lisa to receive my check in instructions. She is very rude and short I asked for tips and a few questions ahead of time and was concerned about her lack of interest and wish I would have stayed away. We ended up leaving as the place was extremely dirty and the bed was very uncomfortable. You can stay in the same buildings a few doors down with a completed renovated condo, extremely clean, and same price. Please look around before booking with them.

Clean with Beautiful View

Unit is as advertised. It is clean (the floor appears dirty but these are scratches/spots that are permanent in nature) with AC and a fan. It has good quality rattan furniture where the sofa is a full-size bed. It has a full kitchenette and laundry facility on the property near the office. The kitchen is stocked with equipment to prepare a meal. Get tokens (5 each - will need 2 for a load if using both washer and dryer).We enjoyed watching the water from our balcony and the water traffic coming into and out of the Red Hook Ferry terminal. Guests can get to the water from the building but we choose to go to Secret Harbour Beach, Linquist Beach and Sapphire Beach with Secret Harbor being our favorite due to amenities close by, place to snorkel and within a 5 minute drive from the unit. Vessup Beach is with walking distance. It is outfitted perfectly for a beach vacation with beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, cooler, beach umbrella, sunblock and towels. A rental car is recommended since Cabrita Point is not a heavy traffic area. Most taxis are coming from Red Hook and they charge a fee to drive to Cabrita and then a fee per person to get you to your destination plus a fee for each bag. You may have to wait longer for taxis at night. If you are looking to buy groceries you will have to go to Red Hook ( approximately 2 miles away, 10 minute drive)Maxine was great to communicate with. She was responsive, flexible and informative. Our visit was enjoyable.

Just what we needed

Our time in St Thomas was a fantastic experience. The property has a fantastic view of the ocean and I spent most mornings on the patio enjoying the tranquility of the ocean. Taxi’s are easy to come by, respond quickly, and are reasonably priced. You are a 5 minute cab ride from Red Hook with access to restaurants and a ferry ride to St John. The property is clean, stock with all essentials, and just what you need for a relaxing time in St Thomas.

Car absolutely required

This space is perfect for a few people, the bed was comfy, shower was hot and the view really sold it. The location is further than we anticipated from town and the safari so we ended up renting a car (though part of the reason we chose to stay here was because we didn’t think we would need a car.) The physical location as it shows up on maps is not the location, the location on VRBO is correct - I believe this may be due to how addresses are assigned in st Thomas. Lisa was responsive when we expressed this to her & got back to us quickly when the power went out on the island. Overall it was lovely, quiet and beautiful- just wish it was a bit closer.

What makes this property unique

The views of the boats coming in and out of the American Yacht Harbor in the beautiful turquoise waters are amazing! Enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning around daylight on the balcony is one of my favorite things to do. My friend described the views as watching a big screen TV all day long! Snorkeling in the bay at Ritz and Secret Harbour are awesome.
