Private, secluded single-family home directly on beach. Unobstructed access to beach.

This home is not an income property; it is personally and professionally maintained by the owners and only available during limited weeks in the summer season.

Accessible only by 4x4 equipped vehicle.

Only 3.5 miles from paved road (much closer to amenities than most of the homes on the 4x4 beach). Level 1 consists of pool area, outside shower and deck. Level 2 includes entry with 2 bedrooms, full bath, great room with LED TV, fully equipped kitchen and dining area, washer- dryer and large porch facing the beach.

Level 3 is the master bedroom with full bath. This master bathroom features large vanity with two sinks, separate shower and bathtub. Large master bedroom includes king size bed, reading nook and LED TV. Large porch with breathtaking panoramic beach view.

Amenities include, sheets and towels, private pool, outside shower and gas grill. Private dune and high speed wireless internet.

If you have never planned a vacation along North Carolina's beautiful Outer Banks (OBX), please consider doing so. Equally exciting and satisfying, treat your family and friends to the naturally picturesque stretch of the Outer Banks coastline south of the Virginia-North Carolina border. To paraphrase many of the local lovers of this area North of Corolla (NC), it is where "the asphalt ends and the fun begins!”

Bring your favorite 4x4 equipped vehicle and experience almost 15 miles of white soft sand beaches, pristinely beautiful maritime forests, marshy coves and the wild horses of Currituck County. Descendants of Spanish mustangs, these majestic, freedom-loving equines have made this area their home for almost 500 years.
While there are no paved roads, restaurants and shops along this uniquely enchanting nature's paradise, numerous shops, restaurants, gasoline, grocery and hardware stores as well as other amenities are only a short drive to Corolla, Duck and other points south.

Incredible Vacation Home

This is our third time staying at this property and we just love it. The perfect house for a family of 4-6, that just want to get away from it all. Beach front, private pool and hot tub, plus WIFI and streaming services, and the communication with the owner is stellar.

Wonderful place to stay

The house is very nice and well kept. I was very impressed by the upstairs master bedroom the most. Great location...plenty of beach. The pool and hot tub were very nice. The wifi was fantastic. I can't say enough great things about this property.

Amazing spot in Corolla

We had a great stay at this property. Very secluded and serene. Horses were on the property almost every day. Access to the beach is just a walk over the dune and the kids loved the pool. The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything to make our stay enjoyable.

Beautiful beach and house

We had a great family vacation. I will say it’s not that easy to get on and off the 4x4 beach. If you want privacy and a true beach experience then this is a good place to visit. Owners were so helpful and responsive.

Once again David and the house were the best! Everything was clean and well cared for and the location can’t be beat! We practically had a horse try to get into your jeep as we were trying to leave and we wouldn’t change anything! We will definitely be back and we can’t wait!

This was a beautiful home that was perfect for our vacation with our three teenage daughters. The home was in pristine condition with lovely furnishings and surroundings. The pool and hot tub were clean and very enjoyable after a day at the beach. We loved being able to walk right out the door, across the dunes and be on the beach where we could fish, sunbathe, or boogie board! The owners are wonderful, helpful and very gracious! Looking forward to returning next year!

Great 4x4 house with pool and hot tub.

We really liked the houses location up the 4x4, as well as the pool and hot tub. The only suggestion would be an option for some darkening curtains in the master bedroom. It was nice waking up to the sunrise, but was somewhat difficult for us to sleep in when we wanted to.

Excellent once again

We were so thrilled to be back! The house was impeccable and very homey! All amenities were wonderful and we didn’t want for anything. Communication was excellent with David from before our trip to after! He texted letting us know of internet delays, pool guy coming, and was available for any questions we had. We had horses at the house everyday and access to the beach is still unbeatable! The private dune is so nice and allows for privacy and easy access! We love coming down and will definitely be back!

Great spot if you just want the beach

This was an outstanding home for a normal family to get away. 480 feet to the water. The dune blocked the view of traffic on the beach but not the water. Every morning the sun rose up through the path to the beach making for epic photos. Close enough to walk back and forth to the bathroom or for lunch breaks from the beach. The owner responded immediately to messages. He also inspected the property immediately and refunded the damage deposit the day we checked out. If we come back to the 4x4 beach will stay here again

Perfect beach escape!

This home was perfect for our family with young children. It was an adventure driving on the beach to access this home and the close proximity to the beach made it very easy to enjoy with little ones. The pool was perfect to cool off after a day at the beach and it even got cool at nights so we could enjoy the hot tub. The homeowner made herself very available before and during our stay. She answered any questions we had and immediately addressed any concerns that came up while we were in town. We saw several wild horses during the week and enjoyed collecting shells at low tide. The boys caught a lot of croakers and sea trout right from the beach! All of the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The large porches made it easy to enjoy the ocean view anytime of the day! We had a lovely stay and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone considering it.

Everything posted in the listing is exactly what we found. The house was very clean and very well maintained; you can tell a family loves this house and cherishes it! The owners answered ALL of our questions VERY quickly and even answered the phone right away when we were having trouble getting in (our fault, not the owners). Having a private sand dune is amazing and very convenient and beautiful! We saw MANY horses and even a coyote! There are many different types of tracks on the dunes and that was neat to see! The pool and hot tub were great after spending all day in the ocean and watching the BEAUTIFUL stars and Milky Way at night! Our only complaint is they house isn’t bigger so we can bring even more friends next time! As stated earlier we will definitely be coming back!

Total Relaxation

This review will probably look redundant when compared to the other reviews but it just speaks to the consistency of the property and host. First of all the home is a perfect size for a family of 3-5 people, it is super clean and comfortable. The master is spacious and the best views from a comfortable couch are from the top deck off the master suite. The kitchen is well stocked and more roomy than the pictures reveal. The pool and hot tub made our experience so enjoyable especially after long hot days on the beach. The scenery is magnificent if you love a somewhat beach wilderness. We had 3 days where horses where basically in the backyard in the dunes. It was truly a beautiful and peaceful sight. The dune provide a nice buffer from traffic noise but we were still able to hear the soothing waves at high tide. David the host is, as mentioned in previous posts, excellent! He was quickly responsive to every message and was helpful with information about the place and surroundings. The trip back and forth to the main road took us 15-20 min and became less of a bother as the week progressed. We will be back!

Great house and remote location

The house was perfect for a family of four. The master bedroom is very spacious and kitchen/ family room open floor plan is great for the family. We enjoyed the pool and the proximity to the beach. Even though it was very walkable we enjoyed driving to the beach with our tent, cooler, chairs and toys. We found it took about 25-35 minutes to get to the paved road get air in the tires. Because of that we stayed at the house and beach a lot. We saw horses around the house three days and it was very interesting and unique. Overall this location is great to make you feel like you’re really getting away from everything.

Exactly What We Expected

I could not have asked for a better host. David went out of his way to answer every single question I had, even though they were a little crazy from a momma. The house is exactly what was pictured and was the PERFECT size for our little family. Access to the dune was a HUGE bonus as well as access to the beach. Loved having the pool available for the evenings. House was in great condition and very well kept. Everything operated as it should have but I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that if we had a problem, it would have been handled immediately. Would definitely recommend if you are looking at the 4x4 beach!

Wonderful Location

Given current circumstances this house was ideal, fairly distant from the closest neighbors in an amazing setting. The house itself was clean and well kept, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Why they chose this property

We have spent years vacationing in NC and love the 4x4 area because of its unique natural habitat, including the wildlife. The wild horses visit frequently on the front dune as well as the house. A small fox can be seen in the early morning running through the front yard. There are no commercial businesses and the tour rides do not go by our house. It is completely private

What makes this property unique

Quiet and private are benefits you will enjoy. Curl up and read a good book on any of the porches as you watch the waves. Or have dinner on the private dune, steps from water.
