Property was great for guys on a fishing trip. It needs work like paint, replacing screens, and general updating. The storm probably caused a lot of the problems. Overall it was a great week but wished we caught more fish.

We really enjoyed the house! It was everything we had hoped for with the only hiccups having to do with bugs settling in around the pool after a storm blew through and the hot tub being a little smaller than expected with minimally effective jets. The hosts were very responsive and sent a handyman to fix a broken door handle while we were there even. Would definitely rent again!

Great location & pool, maintenance needed

Pros: Easy access to the beach Ocean view from house Lovely pool with water feature Close to shops & restaurants Cons: Maintenance & repairs needed E.g. broken ice maker, broken/rusty deck chairs, missing screens on screened porch, broken bins in fridge, water leak/wet carpet on top floor. With some repairs & TLC this would be a great place to stay!

Everything was great but and check in the door lock was not working and an employee had to come and fix it for us. We couldn’t get into the house until that was done. There were only three chairs by the pool and one was broken. But other than that, a great time was had by all.

Sarah, Thank you for your 4-Star review. We apologize for the issue with the lock, but are glad we go someone there quickly to resolve the issue. We took care of the broken chair by the pool and the owner has been advised to replenish the supply since your stay. Please come back again soon!

I’m leaving this review to make future guests aware of our experience. We were disappointed with this home, especially for the price. There were several maintenance issues, including rat droppings in the silverware drawer, a broken pool net, and numerous cosmetic problems throughout the property. Unfortunately, the AC also went out the day before our departure, and we decided to leave early because of these issues. That said, Outer Banks Realty Group was excellent to work with. They were responsive, communicated well, and comped our final night due to the circumstances. Their customer service made a difficult situation much easier to manage.I only wish the homeowner had been more attentive to the property’s condition and more proactive in addressing the maintenance concerns. The home has potential, but it needs significantly more care and upkeep to justify the price point

Nice, quiet, comfortable home

We really enjoyed our stay. The home was in good repair and was exactly as described. Short walk to the beach. Someone complained in a previous review about dirty carpet downstairs, but it had obviously been cleaned. Kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, all great! We didn't use the pool (closed) or hot tub. Only negative was the smell of cigarette smoke in the room with the pool table when we got there. The management offered to come and address it, which was super nice of them, but we just aired out the room and it wasn't too bad. You can tell that the owners care about the property. We will definitely come again, if we can find an opening on the calendar!

Vacation

I had a good vacation, and overall it’s a nice house, just was not cleaned properly, surfaces were but I have small children who are on the floors a lot so I check that stuff and every corner was filled with bugs and dirt, if the owners are paying for a cleaning service they deserve to know if it is being properly Cleaned, also be sure to bring your own chairs as there are only 3 down at the pool and they are pretty worn down even on the decks as well, top 3rd floor deck needs to be fixed up some boards are loose and the railing is extremely loose I wouldn’t let my children out there, I think the smalls things would be easy to update and overall a good stay

Rachel, We are disappointed to hear the house was not cleaned properly. Please be sure to let us know in the future if the house is not to your expectations. We did not hear from you during your stay about these issues. The owner does not pay for the cleaning, but we would have been happy to send one of our staff back to make sure the house was as you expected. We strive for 5-star reviews each time. Likewise, we could have addressed the pool furniture and railing when you were here. We have sent one of our maintenance staff to the house to secure any loose railings. We look forward to serving you again and getting a 5-Star rating next time.

Great Place - Close to the Beach and great pool, hot tub, and pool table

This is a great place for a big family. The amount of bedrooms housed three generations. The pool table was a hit and works well. The pool and hot tub saved the day when the beach water was colder than expected and we had plenty of fun there. Bring some support for the bed to help with comfortable sleep as the beds were the only complaint. Also remember to keep the doors open when you can to ensure the house maintains the optimum house temperature. Besides that, the house was great and I would come back to this house again!

Quiet neighborhood.

Lovely neighborhood. Nice home with 4 bedrooms with full bathrooms plus 2 more bathrooms and outdoor shower. Responsive rental office with some repairs but not all. Short walk to beach. Owner needs to update 3 of the bedrooms to king beds.

Week at Sunset Hideaway

The interior of the house was great, except for the condition of the rug in the game room. It was filthy; either needs a severe cleaning or better yet, replacing. The pool also needed vacuuming; I called and advised about this, but it was never addressed. Lastly, I was not happy about how many correspondences and how long it took to get the AC problem resolved. Overall, a B- to C+ for the service, but again, the house itself was very good and we have a great time (though the weather was poor).
Response from VrboOwner on 8 Oct 2020
Hi Gregg, our information seems a bit different. The pool was vacuumed the day it was reported. The AC issue was resolved in less than 48 hours. I realize those, nearly two days, was an inconvenience. But the speediness of our service was A+. I'm sorry if you don't agree with this, but we really do pride ourselves as trying to provide outstanding service.
