Thorough enjoyed our stay in Atlanta. Great location and beautifully decorated! Beds and linens were super comfortable. The only drawback was that there wasn't cable and the kitchen was not well equipped for cooking. Would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for your comments. We have hired a new cleaning service and hope that this was an unfortunate one-time occurrence. We strive to cut the grass as often as possible. With the sporadic rain Atlanta has experienced this summer, the grass exponentially grew and at the same time was too wet to cut. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Poor
The bushes and grass were SO overgrown that it was difficult to enter the property and there was no way the kids could enjoy the back yard. The home was over 85 degrees making the property uncomfortable and musty smelling. Not a good experience!

Clean, cozy, quiet home within minutes of downtown Atlanta!!!
This house was perfect for my family's short stay in Atlanta. We were in town for a wedding at Piedmont Park, and this house was a great location. Just a 10-15 minute drive to the park, depending on traffic! We also experienced the Georgia Aquarium, which was amazing, and was also a short drive, maybe 20-30 minutes. The owner was very friendly and responsive. We would definitely stay here again.

Business traveler option
This was a good option for four of us business travelers, in town for the Americas Mart gift show. It was nice to have the extra room after a long work day. This place is fairly close to downtown, so the daily commute was pretty short. It's also close to some good restaurants along and near the N. Highland corridor. The immediate neighborhood itself is a bit transitional -- many houses in the vicinity are being renovated and new houses built, interspersed with older houses, some past their prime. But we were not there for the immediate neighborhood, and the benefits listed above made this a good choice. The house was a little short on amenities -- no coffee for the coffee maker, no hand towels (wash cloth and bath towels only), and I'm not sure there was bath soap (I brought my own). These basics are what I'm usually used to with rentals such as this. Otherwise, the place was fine.

Thank you for your comments and suggestions. We enjoyed having you as guests and hope you had a pleasant stay.
There are additional towels, including hand towels, soap and other amenities located in the upstairs linen closet. The House Manual will be updated with more detail to reflect this.
Food and drinks are generally brought by the guests themselves. As a tea drinker, different types of teas are provided as a courtesy for the guests. A coffee machine is also available, if needed.
Again, we appreciate your comments and thank you for your patience as we learn specific guests' preferences and adjust accordingly. Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions or comments.
Best,
Gigi
About the host
Hosted by Gigi
Originally from Southern California, I am an attorney, wife, mom, and entrepreneur. My husband Cameron is a professional chef and is interested in real estate. We've lived in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, and now call Atlanta our home. It's a nice change in pace/cost. I still try to walk or use public transit when I can though. It's way better than driving in ATL traffic.
I like building + painting. I'm a sucker for cheesecake, lemon bars, or ice cream. I love exploring the world, trying new wines, and hearing people laugh.
Why they chose this property
NEIGHBORHOOD Our house is located in the historic Edgewood neighborhood. It is approximately 3 miles east of downtown Atlanta and was developed during Atlanta’s Reconstruction-era economic boom that lasted from 1870 to 1910. The neighborhood has a mix of primarily porch-ready craftsman bungalows and modern and new construction.
Neighborhoods, such as Little Five Points, Candler Park, East Atlanta, Inman Park, Old Fourth Ward, Virginia Highlands, Reynoldstown, Cabbagetown, and Kirkwood are only a couple of miles away and are full of restaurants, bars, parks, shops, etc. I would be happy to provide you with some nearby or local recommendations.
Our house is near a number of parks with biking areas and playgrounds, such as Candler Park Golf Course, Iverson Park, Freedom Park, the Beltline, Coan Park, and Walker Park.
* PLEASE NOTE - Being in the city has its perks - lots of restaurants, cultural events, proximity to colleges, public transportation, etc. With that in mind, please always lock all doors if you leave the house and do not leave any valuables that can be seen in your car. We've never had an issue, but we don't want you to be a target either.
What makes this property unique
TRANSPORTATION Public transportation is close and very easy to use. The Edgewood-Candler Park MARTA subway station is approximately a 10-minute walk from the house and accesses all Westbound (towards Downtown) and Eastbound lines (towards Decatur) (Blue + Gold lines). There are also multiple bus routes that run through Edgewood and are within walking distance.
Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport is approximately a 15-minute drive away and the MARTA subway connects directly from airport.
You can also save yourself from any crazy Atlanta traffic by walking or using Uber or Lyft (which hardly ever takes more than a few minutes to come).
In addition, Kroger supermarket + pharmacy (open 24 hours), Target, Best Buy, Lowes, Barnes and Noble, Office Depot, Bed, Bath & Beyond, as well as other major retail stores, are a short 10-minute walk (less than 1 mile) from the house at the Edgewood Retail District.
With that being said, there is plenty of parking if you have a car. You are welcome to park it on the driveway or any open space on the street. As a courtesy, please do not block any of our neighbors' driveways.
